yeah please upload type2. And if possible, please use only pkey, custid, name,address and flag columns in target. Other tutorial have more columns and it creates confusion.

You need to check session property if you have enabled the 'Update as Update' configuration too.

Hii Medam.I get one confusion refularly in all scds that, "if i give primary key on cust_id or surr_key column in target table then only updations will happend otherwise
insertion only happening".what is logic behind that.we should take pk column on target table compulsary????? can anyone help me

Hi Sravan. Hope my ans will help you..By giving cust_id as pk , it will be used as base column which will be use to see changes in rest of the columns.

Yes if you want to update ,you need to have a primary key.In case you dont have one in the table ,you can assign one column as primary key in the powercenter tool itself.

you cannot insert multiple rows with primary key on cust_id as, in a table only 1 row with same cust_id is possible so we can only update the existing row but cannot add more rows

if city of the customer changes and has the same cust_id, this mapping wont update to the latest snapshot of data. This ain't SCD1

how does it know if the record has changed or not..you are only checking the ID value and if the ID exists or not insert/update but where are you checking if the updated value is changed or not? I want to update only if something has changed in the source

Praveen Reddy by default it will update every existing row, if not it will insert
