It's the best cowl template I've made and accurate too! I've made two already and on third it will be perfect! Thanks for putting such great work for us!
Make backup copies of your files. I lost all of mine when I got a new computer. And I can’t re-download them because Ares Armory deactivated the download buttons on Etsy.
Currently working on mine and super excited! Your steps are super easy to follow (so far at least). And the templates are very reasonably priced Just a thought, you may wish to put that part about adjusting C4 towards the beginning, or at least mention it. I luckily watched the entire video before starting, and I have a big head so it's good that I did.
theres something you could do to make the pieces look better when you put em together, after everything is done, before the painting, put some layers of bondo or some kind of filler to fill the gaps made by gluing the parts, then prime and paint the item, would look better cause for example that line that splits your forehead in two will not be visible anymore, hope this helps
The cape is made of an upholstery fabric picked up at Joann's fabrics about 6 years ago. Sorry I don't have any more detailed info from that. But if I was to make another cape, it's likely I would go with an upholstery fabric again, due to heavier weight than many clothing fabrics, and stain and wrinkle resistance.
@@des0076 can you please send me the patterns you made? I only need patterns for the cowl. If you can please do it because when I tried to make my own patterns it turned out to look like an alien's helmet 😂
@@mtg1518 I modified a template of a base helmet from a dude called EvilTed, hes awesome, the template is free too! I Just cut out the mouth and added the nose And ears.
Possibly. Cardboard has different properties. I doesn't flex like foam does so it may be tougher to fit/wear. It will definitely not be as comfortable.
@@aresarmorystudios2454 hi. I made the gauntlets, boots and the chest plate from cardboard. They are really good and I don't have any problems with it. The chest plate is as hard as a rock, it's hard to move you're ankles left and right on the boots and on the gauntlets there aren't any problems with it but it's a little bit uncomfortable. Also some of the shapes are hard to make.
Short Answer: No Long Answer: Possibly. But this project was created with more flexible materials in mind. I personally wouldn't do it given that foam is more comfortable and (personally) easier to work with for a project like this. But other people have done some great stuff with cardboard.
roughly how big is this cowl? I've been trying to make a nice fitting cowl for my Batman suit and I really like this one but I don't want it to look too big or silly. is there a way to modify the pattern if it to big or small? thanks the cowl looks amazing

I just bought the whole package for my son. Thank you for making it economical!

That for sale? Love it!
Is it possible do use this pattern to make a plan cowl instead of a Batman cowl?
I'm sure you can. It will probably take some testing and trials of changing the pattern a few times to get it right.
I would just put a white mesh for the eyes because I don't want to wear make-up.
Would it be good if the ears were a bit shorter?
Do you ever glue the bottom of the ears to the cowl?
You can if you want to but I think it's an unnecessary step.
Can this be made without needing to make the degree cuts? it's annoying...
and can it be made with eva foam?
Des007OW no don't be lazy and no
MasonAnimations well since I wrote that I made my own, cuz fk buying templates

can you use the same templates but instead of foam use cardboard?
Possibly. Cardboard has different properties. I doesn't flex like foam does so it may be tougher to fit/wear. It will definitely not be as comfortable.
AresArmoryStudios OK thanks
You're welcome. :)

Is it pdf? What size would you recommend to a 13 year old kid?
It is a PDF. Everyone's head size is different. Measure their crown and see if it's close to or within range of the sizes talked about in the video.
