I'm honestly confused why this is on by default anyways. Even if you google for "Sticky Keys", the first few results are instructions on how to turn it off. It seems almost nobody actually uses it. In fact, I don't think most people even know what it does.
I thought the review of the second game was harsh until I remembered this is steam and people sell this stuff. This is what I would expect from a high school student's computer programming project.
i'm peruvian and i always enjoy seeing peruvian culture being properly represented in media, i was expecting this game to be super out of touch like most media on peru is and get a good laugh out of it but it was a nice surprise to see it was fairly well researched and was about a notable, well-documented story instead of going "ooh look at this mysterious faraway country with a lot of supernatural culture, let's put aliens in macchu pichu no one knows anything about the actual culture anyway so no one will care". Also cachiche is pronounced kah-CHEE-chay btw
It is always great to see cultures being represented well in any form of media! Apologies for butchering the pronunciation of Cachiche though. At least it wasn't "Ca-sheesh"?
First game really looks like someone had a lot of vision, but not yet the skill to fully realise it. I bet he's just as frustrated with the end product as any consumer would be, if not more. If it wasn't sold for $5, I'd actually have sympathy for him.
1:05 That's a default Unity settings menu that it auto adds to projects. Seeing it often means the graphics quality setting are likely to not do anything because the game wasn't made for any other graphics.
Wow 1-2-Swift has less content than an old Flash Fane and those were at least free! I can't even imagine that being fun with a friend because you've seen everything after a 5 seconds. At least 1,000 Heads has some Gameplay even if it feels kind of under baked.
1,000 Heads had a strong premise and start, and then absolutely dropped the ball on everything else, which is a shame because it could've been something cool. 1-2-Swift saw the ball in the bottom of the barrel and left it there.
@@Graeldon I second the notion on the 1,000 Heads games. Maybe expand the details for everyone, and it could be a bit more worthwhile. The second game, though... yeah, I don't want to bother with knockoff crap like that.
1000 heads feels way more fitting as a game you'd just come across on itch one day as opposed to buying on steam, i think it ultimately would've been way more acceptable to go the "if you like the game you can just donate and follow for my next projects" approach because even if it's kind of neat it just feels like the game could barely pay for the $100 admission on steam for itself really
When the people gathered around Larry and the collapsed house, I half expected them to accuse Larry of witchcraft. It would have been so much more interesting than going on a 3000 mile taxi trip only to get weird visions.
Not a local, but as far as I can tell it seems the town is actually fine with witchcraft, rather than against it. I feel that would’ve muddied the representation
Loving the additional rating button, Grael. It will definitely help clarify your point about some of the less obvious games. These two, though, were pretty clearly bad games. Which is super unfortunate in the event of the first one because it seemed so cool and had so much love and passion put into it. Hopefully the dev comes back to this one someday when they have more experience to fully realize their concept.
I can’t believe someone thought to make a knock off version of a single mini game from 1, 2, Switch then had the extra gall to charge money for it on top of that. That’s like charging $5 to get to play a worse version of a single Mario party mini game over and over.
Another great video! I do have one bit of feedback, though: although game devs can submit tags for their games on Steam, players are able to alter them and add new ones. Which is to say, the fact that a game has a "horror" tag doesn't necessarily mean the dev wanted it to be marketed as a horror game!
Regarding the sticky keys: I never understood why people aren't looking up how to get rid of the sticky keys message when they are so annoyed by it. That's what I did the first time where I wouldn't know how to get rid of it.
The first game is at least nice that you can see the dev passion to tell the story even though it seems that he gave up in the end but he shouldn't have ask for money at least put on itchio first and work the knick knacks before launching it on Steam, still at least it seems he still creating games, he has a itchio page so hope for the best. The second game is baffling like even if was an old flash game it wouldn't be fun and asking for money is just so scummy :I
I dont think that it's that. You would need to give both players a headset, which is not possible due to it being a local multiplayer steam game. From what i can gather the only VR thing that is used are the controllers. It even says in the text dump on 8:30 that only controllers are used in the VR mode
A laudable series that I'm happy to see a new entry in. If you feel you're getting bogged down in the numbers section you could always sample a few games from each letter per episode before looping back to numbers, but this is more for your sanity than the video concept which is excellent

@Clozent That's a fair assumption, but you might also be surprised. I've played plenty of obscure games with 0 reviews, but all have had tags. Likely, it's because tags are used as filters for searching, so it's in the developers' interest to add tags to make their game more searchable
Is the void a thing now? I think it's a thing now.
ALL HAIL THE VOID
The void is the absence of thing.
Definitely a candidate for a recurring gag for games where you can fall off the map.
I sure hope it’s a thing now!

Glad I could help!

1-2-Swift is just knocking off just one of 1-2-Switch's mini-games! And people thought that game wasn't good...
You are 100% correct and I'm 1000% annoyed that I forgot the obvious reference while writing the script.

I'd pay 5 bucks for a crap version of that one minigame that caused palm lacerations. Not to play, just to punish people.
I actually thought 1-2 Swift was 1-2 Switch for a second, haha!

It's really weird that 1000 Heads Among The Trees is, I think, the first game in this series that I've actually played before

Ok that editing at 9:17 was absolutely brilliant! I love how you used the SFX variant for a "rare" achievement as well!
Tai did an awesome job with the editing!
the second one is like a flash game you play for like 1 minute and then you move onto a more enticing flash game instead
The first entry in the 1-2-switch series, 1-2-swift.

Maybe 1-2-Swift is better in VR? Not by much, but still, if you get a first person POV maybe the first round would be interesting.
Judging from the trailer it's still a side profile view because both players need to be on screen at once
I dont think that it's that. You would need to give both players a headset, which is not possible due to it being a local multiplayer steam game. From what i can gather the only VR thing that is used are the controllers. It even says in the text dump on 8:30 that only controllers are used in the VR mode
Then what was the point of making it VR? --'
Anyway, thank you both for answering :)
Wild Gunman is shaking in his boots.
One of the kids in 1000 Heads Among The Trees looks awful like the kids in skyrim (not saying it was stolen, just was surprising)
I love how the video SAID it's theme was desert settings, yet the REAL theme was THE VOID
how lovely 😊
Tragic that there is a game that matches what you described in 1-2-Swift in the W’s of Steam (Western Press).
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

FYI those tags are initially set by the developer
