anytime classical music is used in a fashion show I go crazy, it's beyond beautiful, the setting the black clothes resembling orchestra wear oh my GOD
One of the highlights of the last years...Karl will be deeply missed. Brought me to tears to see him here "at home" knowing that he will never return .....He was so special.
Chanel sets the standard not only for design but for presentation.
However not all credit should be for Karl Lagerfeld. Madame Jacqueline and the Ateliers at 31 Rue Cambon deserve a lifetime of applause as masters of their craft.

@ROCKSTAR3291 • I only came across this wónderful 6 years old video today, and have watched it again and again, ánd listened endlessly to that mésmerisingly beautiful ‘La Paloma’!! I knew the song and have always lóved it, but the combination of Karl’s supérb designs, his sadly no longer being with us ánd this hauntingly beautiful song made me want to share it with someone who seems to love it all as much as I do 🤷🏻♀️
I was there and after 4 years and some months I cry every time I watch this show… no words can describe that moment. I will always thank Karl & Chanel to be at that show and many others for more than 25 years… Hope everyone can try what I felt and feel even now when I think of Chanel ^_^
Gorgeous. Back to the roots where Karl came from. All is there: The harbour, the Reeperbahn, Altona & the rock scene, the Alster and the Hamburg trader. Inspired & modern. Thank you!
I think it was a real "marathon" for the models !!! Long walkway full of stairs. But, parading for Chanel must be Paradise on Earth !!!

That entrance music, La Paloma, was just so beautiful. I grew up to Elvis Presley singing his version of it, No More, every weekend. My mother would clean the house completely every Saturday morning and she always had Elvis' Blue Hawaii record playing. I woke up listening to No More more often than any other song.
Elvis released No More in 1961. He was stationed in Friedberg, Germany, not far from Hamburg, from 58 to 60 so there's every possibility he heard La Paloma over there & had lyrics added to it later.

Oh, I think the two of them are having a ball discussing all that he had done not only in Coco's name but for her legacy. Coco's name & her legacy endures because of Karl & Karl alone!!
Karl did for Chanel what Tom Ford did for Gucci. Those two took on well known brands that were to some people, old, irrelevant & fading, turned it completely around & give them new lives.
They both succeeded because
they understood the brand, it's history, it's importance, it's reason to exist & in which direction it needed to go in order to survive.
Choosing Karl to resurrect Chanel was perfect because he & Coco were more the same than some people may think. Both were strong in their convictions & took no prisoners when it boiled down to it. Some of the very politically incorrect stuff that came out of Karl's mouth over the years that shocked & offended some very fragile souls could've come straight out of Coco's mouth!
Both spoke their damned minds & they didn't care what anyone else thought. Because sometimes, you have to break some eggs to make an omelet & Karl cooked PLENTY of omelets. He also didn't care how many eggs he had to break in the process!!

uno de los mejores shows de chanel. una especie de flashback mistico a los inicios de la silueta chanel (el traje militar), encontrandose el desfile en la alemania y la ciudad natal de karl, sabiendo todos las preferencias de coco en su propio contexto historico. una coleccion brillante
