@@stardustsdd Yeah it's made me give up on those versions (also, the status effect bug). I really should try the PS1 version, even though it seems harder.
Strategy for late game. Composition: Firion, Maria and Guy are mages and Guest is dodger. It is possible to create the dodger who will evade every attack without being hit. Mages:Any weapon (i didn't find info about weapons debuffing spirit or intelligence, but do NOT equip shields!), Ribbon or Gold Hairpin, Black or White Robes (depends on magic cast) and Protection Ring (If you don't have any armour listed just leave it unequipped). All mages should be at back row. Now, for dodger. Primary hand: anything you liked, but, if resulting dodge lower then 99%, you should equip any dagger for quickly increasing dagger mastery, Second hand:Maine Gauge (Found in Dreadnought), which increase the dodge rate and depends on dagger mastery: the higher it is, the higher dodge rate. This weapon won't deal large damage and, on final stages, should be considered as shield. Helmet: Gold Hairpin (increasing agility, but lowers dodge a little, equipped on Leila by default), Body: Black Garb (one and only armour without dodge decreasing and increase agility), Arms: Thief Gloves (increase agility, but decrease dodge rate a little, can be found in Dreadnought or bought in Mysidia). This set up is let dodger evade almost all blows. If you didn't reach 99% yet, support dodger with blink from White Mage, and keep guard on dodger until he receives a buff. Remember: some enemies have accuracy higher then 99% (Generals), but not absolute (casting Blink on dodger and Generals will miss). Second Note: How to keep MP? White mage should learn Swap (Mysidia), Black Mage-Osmose (Cave of Mysidia). Now train it to managable success (Swap on yourself to keep MP and train the spell), remember: shadows-type enemies heavy resisted Swap and all undead reverse Osmose spell.
I heard the Pixel Remake is easier with faster progression especially at the start as well as an auto save feature, but it made enemies that can inflict status guaranteed to do it on hit. This means these bosses are pushovers, but later enemies like Cockatrices and Couerls can easily wipe out your party in one turn.
The psx version of Final Fantasy 1 and 2 are more difficult than the new ones from gba, psp, android... The magic system of ff1 is different and there aren't hi-potions or ethers for example

@@AncapOtaku Except for the last ones in game, most throughout the story are generic monsters that are too strong hence they function as a "boss" later on they become generic enemies. Some like that since they get the feeling of being so much stronger, I personally do not like this. A boss should be a unique experience in the story imo, no matter if early or late.

Oh man, I really miss the sound design from similar versions of FF2. The remake/remaster from Steam doesn't do it justice at all.

Leila is the best dodger though, and she almost always gets thre first turn
loved that the controller rumbled in this version

Hey could u do a video of the ff 10 bosses?

Same music in all battle bosses?

yea, the FFI bosses were even better :\
