Solar panels = electricity. Oil = gasoline, jet fuel, tar, asphalt, plastic, etc.
These companies are not betting on gasoline cars, they're going for the other uses of oil. Gasoline cars will be virtrually non-existent in 20 years. But plastic is going to be around for a long time.
@@robinlindberg1231 It does make sense at least partly. Electricity is used for energy, same as gasoline and jet fuel you mentioned. And the video constantly showed energy consumption levels, not just materials.

We already have (and still are making) breakthroughs on renewable energy sources, it's just that all the large corporations ignore them and switch to fossil fuels for a larger profit over the well-being of our environment.
