This was a one Perfect Episode for starting a new season! It starts off pretty chill, all the characters we've known since Season 1 got together in this very Japanese themed location making it feels like a Fun Hot-Spring episode & then suddenly you're reminded by the end that this is Indeed the most Brutal Isekai for a reason 😭
A Few Fun Facts: -The Black Serpent is the third Great Mabeast. Its poison was present in both Emilia backstories (the Frozen Bond OVA and the first Trial). Its poison is also sentient and completely melts anything it touches. (It killed Archi, who was one of the elves in Elior forest and a good friend of Fortuna. -Schult, Priscilla's assistant, was actually seen in season 1. He drove her dragon carriage to the Royal Candidate meeting. He was also seen in the second OP for season 1. -In the LN, Subaru had already met Liliana in a side-story -Joshua said Julius is the strongest SPIRIT Knight. This is actually true. Reinhard isn't a sprit-arts user. -Felt is believed to be the lost member of the Royal Family. That is why Reinhard asked her age when the insignia responded to her at the end of Arc 1. Blonde hair and red eyes is a trait that each member of the Royal Family had. (This was before they were all killed by a plague that only affected their bloodline) -The 2 girls with pink hair that are shown during Felt's portion of Otto's explanation are the nieces of the Appa Merchant (OG checkpoint guy). They were seen escorting Felt to the Royal Capital in season 1. -Rachin's short friend Kan, has a Divine Protection that makes him good in bed... -I happened to notice something interesting about Sirius' ears, eyes and hair... -Sirius' hypnosis ability is probably her Authority of Wrath. Each Archbishop's Witch Factor grants them a special ability called an Authority. When Subaru killed Petelgeuse, he gained his Witch Factor. It allowed him to used Geuse's Authority of Sloth, Unseen Hand, which Subaru used in his fight with Garfiel. Subaru decided to rename this ability, "Invisible Providence." -Otto's first crush was a white cat that was seen in his backstory. (Yes he's attracted to animals) (Also each season of Re:Zero aired alongside a series of chibi shorts called Re:Zero: Break Time. Each episode would give us small details and trivia about the lore and characters. They even added some content from the LN that was cut for time. Break Time is now back for season 3 and it's first episode is already out on Kadokawa's Channel, but it hasn't been subbed yet. Will you be checking this out as well?)
Thank you for the refreshers, like I said it’s been like 4 years since I watched Re;Zero. I’m curious to see more about Sirious, and how Subaru and Team Emilia respond to her coming into town. Well Pricilla is there too so maybe she help with her sword again 😂 And I’m not sure if I’ll be checking out the chibi side stories. If they include them in the Ep’s or if I can find them I may watch them after the episodes

fyi not sure someone told u before. Beatrice is not that strong anymore. 1. She used all her 400 years stored mana to trap the great rabbit. 2. She made contract with Subaru, Who has very low mana pool and his mana is poisoned due mana gate broke (his shamac in ss2 during fight with Garf). 3. Spirit that in contracted use user's mana. So, user mana amount is important. example : Puck is so strong because Emilia has very large mana pool. So Beatrice is nerfed xD

Just info, Al also an Isekai character, it's cut content, but he supposedly told Subaru in season 1. So so far, along with Subaru, Aldebaran and Hoshin is a confirmed Isekai-ed characters.

What's Anastasia's connection to him still not clear, is it a common family name in Kararagi or she was his descendant, or anything else. no confirmation, as far as i remembered. Maybe they thought ReZero would not go as far as today so a pretty much "useless" information during that time in S1 is not worthy, and there's no place in season 2 to appropriately addressing that. As for now, it's just an added context that Subaru was not the only Isekai character in ReZero.
A little heads up, there were a lot of mistranslations in the Crunchyroll subs for this episode, so you might wanna to switch to a different one. (and to make this episode even funnier, in the non-Crunchyroll subs Liliana refers to Subaru as the "Kiddymancer")
