One of the hardest songs to cover without sounding like you are showing off. George, your approach was very humble and that honors you, both, as a teacher and artist. Technique is backing your emotive performance and not the other way round. Chris will be forever missed but not forgotten.

Distortion is only the effect added on top of whatever texture you choose to use , so more like a decoration if you will... If you are performing the distortion the correct way, it can be applied in almost anything, high, low, lighter,heavier :)
Hey man, it's not the "kind of rasp" that is different, but it sounds a little varied from the standard sound because of the whole mouth shaping and in turn the slight change of resonance of the whole voice (including rasp) due to that effect. Cheers!

That tecnique applied to singing sounds more bluesy, and like you did sounds more agressive, i dont know if i'm right, but sounds more like grit. Can you explain? Glad to know my method is helping you :) As I described in that video too, the rasp as a function is a specific effect that's added on top of the coordination.The sound will change according to your larynx position, shape of your mouth etc. Very hard to describe by using words.
