In this video I am in the ELAC room where they are showing off their Vela FS409 Passive speakers being powered from ELAC Alchemy electronics.
The system is wired up with Audioquest cabling and powered from an Audioquest Niagara Power Conditioner

How do people leave negative reviews based on a microphone recording. Now if someone has a opinion based on a in person listening session it may be valid. But basing it off this recording is just poor judgment. To many variables to say a negative comment. For being a recording in a less than ideal environment it sounds great. I'd really like to hear these in person. The speaker cones remind me of a line ground zero had for car audio. I believe they are a German company as well. Elac is one of the best gifts in audio to the average audiophile.

I must have listened to "Smoke 'n' Mirrors" a million times in my lifetime. The mic may be to fault here, but that tune is so much more lively than it sounds on the Elacs. Would love to audition them in my place, though.

Is it my imagination or does the 1st song recorded, ‘Liberty’ sounded better on the Elac 407s’ verses the 409s’ in this video?? On the 407s’ the vocal sounds more airy and there is distinction & depth to the 2nd vocal overdub that can be heard during the chorus.
yes it sounds airy and thinner on 407 because its mid driver is smaller and so it sound thinn and airy.

I hear a hint of boxyness in the base. Not a fan of that. High freq and imaging is nice.
I know the first track well, it’s sounds awesome on my system, sounded like it had a a lot of sibilance in this video.
Ive been eyeballin the vela fs 407 what do you think about them ? i was planning on a 5.1
🤔 So why aren't people pushing to create an 'intelegent live filter software format' where we can choose different filters that sound like different audiophile speakers?? I have well tuned focal 12.2 setup and when I listen to these different recordings I'm pretty much getting the experience of these different high end speakers... So why isn't their the tech to play music or better stream music as in watch youtube videos with these 'filters' on? You might say it would require rendering , but I'm not so sure... 🤷♂
My setup is like a giant 3d monitor, I could be on BnW mode tomorrow and Elac on Tuesday, but it doesn't exist and yet I'm hearing it right in front of me. Dolby or Denon or somebody should get on this
(the mic setup in this recording could be better obviously but I can hear what these do, A lot of perfect recordings on youtube though...)
You can do that with Dirac Live, but it would have to be done manually./
they are, u can use them with foobar for example, wish to have tube amp caracteristic? no problem, choose wchich tube amp you like..., warmifier vst, or Voxengo vst or Jrv audio packs

@@birgerolofsson2347 Install a app called soundhound on your phone. You may be walking around in the word, hear something good and wonder who's the artist. Open the app, tap, it will listen and let you know who the artist/song is. You're welcome.

Audiophiles will never agree. But I can´t understand what some folks want. If they don't recognize a good sound when they hear it!!! And I´m not talking (only) about listening through you tube. (which gives an idea but obviously is not the same thing)
