- Legendary composer Anoushirvan Rohani performing one of his most famous masterpieces, Tavalodet Mobarak. When this song was first released back in 1971, it instantly became the standard birthday song of all Iranians around the world and to this day it is by far the most sang tune during happy occassions.
This recording is from a special concert of Maestro Rohani held in Escandido, CA in 2003.

perhaps tastes can vary but that singing duo are among the best opera singers in the U.S. and you could circle entire Iran and you will find anyone in their callibar (for opera). Musically speaking it was obvious that they sang this song with very little training and despite that, they had the most amazing tight ending. Again, its all about taste.Incidentally this pair has been accompanying Mr. Rohani in his concerts for years and the crowds adore their performance as seen on this clip.

uhmm, yeah, saw these guys at UCLA's Royce Hall years ago, probably 2003 when this video was made, to see Rohani and hear some Persian music. I grew up with heavy metal and my brother is a hip-hop fan and a bit of a piano virtuoso. We were looking forward to the musicianship we knew would be on display... and Rohani plays up a storm!
To this day my brother and I make fun of how those singers ruined a fantastic musical performance.

I wish I had 10% of their talent, not that it keeps me from singing, it was just a bit distracting. Imagine going to see Eric Clapton and he's got a very talented Chinese guy who learned English in Australia singing. I'm sure the guitar is just as great and the singing would be better than ours... but wouldn't you think, "WTF?"
