I could not agree more with this comment, it’s my thoughts exactly as I was watching the video. So happy for them, and love how they used the money they have made from RUclips to purchase something and be proud of where it came from and thank their viewers for making it possible. Most RUclips creators and content channels will not thank their viewers for all these purchases they are making. I often think how some of them get all their money to buy the things they do, but then say oh you all need to do this out but that if you are going to withstand these terrible times coming. I agree 1000%. I've pretty much stopped watching the other homestead shows I was watching. This past 3 years has been horrible for my hubby and I. We don't have 2 nickels to rub together. But we are still trying to put in our garden. And I'm still going to can. Even though the cost of jar lids and everything else is so expensive now. So watching videos with people spending money like drunken sailors on leave. Doesn't really make me want to watch. But on this channel. You make do and mend. Which is what my hubby and I have to do. We're in our 60's. And your videos make me not want to give up. Thank you for that. Your the nicest family and the most real one in you tube land. You make us see that you can have abundance with little money.

Turnips are sweet when grown in the cool seasons and harvested when no larger than a baseball. When the weather gets hot and they get larger, they get bitter and woody. …and so happy for your new tractor!!

So glad you see things going well on the homestead! Get your turnips picked when they are small and roast them. If you want to try to eat turnips you may like the greens better than the bulbs. They are a very nutritious green. Some people like to chop up the bulb and mix it in with the turnip greens. That is a tasty way to grow them.

On the toy front, save up and get a set of pallet forks. You will find lots of uses. Load a pallet up with stuff and move it. You can also turn compost files with them.
Having had an auto repair for 35 years I know how important good practical tools are. I love your Utube recordings and I am so happy and grateful for every new episode. Love your family and how you interact with your kids. Love your experience of sowing, growing and harvesting. I have over a thousand youtubes that I am subscribed to but there are about 5 or 6 that I watch every video no matter what and you guys are one of the top channels for me. I started following you when you left on your trip and I loved your story of rebuilding your family and now every time I get to see you working together happily and having success in this life it warms my heart so much. I love watching your kiddos grow and watching you transform that land into a beautiful homestead. It inspires me so much as I try to figure out how to get started on my own land here in Oregon.
Glad you got your tractor! In todays world it's almost a necessity for farm work. Yes, my granddaddy had a mule, but he had to feed the mule whether it was being used or not. But whatever makes the work quicker or easier, if it can be had is a good thing. Time is money. So is a working back lol!

The tractor is awesome and the garden looks amazing. Turnips for me are great raw. I just peel and eat, small ones are sweeter and not as hard. Try raw ones before you give up. The greens are good also. Mix with other greens. You guys are great and thanks for sharing your lives!!

Hey, love your channel I just noticed that when you were talking near your new compost pile. That there is an elderberry bush blooming in the background. It's the one with the big white blooms. Elderberry is great to have especially to make syrup for colds during the winter. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos.

I started following you when you left on your trip and I loved your story of rebuilding your family and now every time I get to see you working together happily and having success in this life it warms my heart so much. I love watching your kiddos grow and watching you transform that land into a beautiful homestead. It inspires me so much as I try to figure out how to get started on my own land here in Oregon.
Glad you got your tractor! In todays world it's almost a necessity for farm work. Yes, my granddaddy had a mule, but he had to feed the mule whether it was being used or not. But whatever makes the work quicker or easier, if it can be had is a good thing. Time is money. So is a working back lol!

The tractor is awesome and the garden looks amazing. Turnips for me are great raw. I just peel and eat, small ones are sweeter and not as hard. Try raw ones before you give up. The greens are good also. Mix with other greens. You guys are great and thanks for sharing your lives!!
Cook the greens, add little vinegar to taste and treat the turnips to the pigs.

Hey, love your channel I just noticed that when you were talking near your new compost pile. That there is an elderberry bush blooming in the background. It's the one with the big white blooms. Elderberry is great to have especially to make syrup for colds during the winter. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos.
