The fact that so many people are co-signing this shit in the comments 🤦🏾♂️ “I’m black and idc if he says it” good for you lmao you don’t speak for all of us. There is not one thing that Black folks have that everyone else isn’t trying to take, it’s insane. Nigga was/is a derogatory slur. It was reclaimed by Black people, the only ones with the right to. You can participate in the culture without disrespecting it. I would never dream of using slurs aimed at Mexican people, even if they reclaimed it. It’s not for me. But for some reason any and everyone can take from Black and we’re just supposed to be okay with it. We built our culture over 400+ years of oppression, so of course I’m going to be defensive about it when people think that they deserve to be able to say nigga just because of where they were born or because they grew up around Black folks. That’s not how it works

I’m from Southern California, I grow up in the 90s and early 2000s. Blacks and Browns have always been divided. It’s rooted heavily in prison culture. But Mexicans in California have their own history with the Chicano movement. If you do your research on that movement you will learn how Blacks had access to better programs and opportunities in California. When I learned that it pissed me off. A lot of out Chicana hermanas fought for equality in schools and access to higher education in Southern California in the 50s and 60s. It’s crazy how they don’t talk about how powerful that movement was back then. Probably because that movement was mainly lead by Women Mexican Americans.

It’s definitely not a Texas thing. It’s absolutely a culture thing. I grew up in Sacramento on the South Side and kicked it with the Garden Blocc Crips. Every culture that was in the hood and surrounding area said the N word. I’m talking from blacks to Mexicans to Tongans to the Mongs and white boys if they grew up around there. The Mexicans and Tongans really adopted that culture. Even in San Diego the Samoans say it.
@CAPISWYLIN Better explanation could be okay let's talk history, Vincente Guerrero the 1st Black President of Mexico is big reason why slavery ended in 1st place. He Not only freed the mexican slaves from Spaniards but also declined the U.S offer of slavery continuing , he basically told them "Slaves make it 2 mexico they are free, come get this shit back in blood homie" that is why Cinco de Mayo is celebrated bc of him. Not only that but many Mexican Ppl were hanged, killed 4 help free slaves hide them etc not no couple I'm talking hundreds possibly thousands In the white mans eye Mexicans are "Niggers" too they just call Us "Beaners" 4 more division, so if any other race gets the pass its Mexicans , deadass were slaves and went thru same shit N word pass & all that dont even matter, what matters is Black & Brown is one in the same United
Why does he need a better way of explaining his reason for you to be ok with it? Either you are against it no matter what anyone says or how they explain their reason for using it or you understand and get it and for that reason you dont G A F because you know the intention.
The reason he gave is literally the reason. I grew up in mesquite, plesant grove, and east plano and literally everyone was saying it and no one cared (2000-2012). I personally wish people would stop saying it no matter who they are, but I'm still used to hearing mexicans, hood white people, hood Asians (that's usually who it is) say it. My brother's friends are mexican and they all are always facetiming saying it to each other. Lmao You can tell the difference between people who say it to be trendy, people who are trying to trigger you in a racist way, and the people who just say it because it was another word for "dude/bro" growing up. A lot of the black people around me just didn't care because they just saw the word as "bro". (I'm black and white btw) It may just be how lots of places here in Texas are, but judging from the comments, there are other places in the US where people do this. That's interesting. I'm Brazilian, born and bread in Rio. One time when i was twenty something years old i went to Cleveland, Ohio, to visit some friends. I couldn't help to realize i felt a lot more comfortable talking to black ppl than to the american whites. I wasn't expecting them to be so distant (and to my foreign eyes) kind of cold. I felt black ppl were more similar to us, like i was in iHop with an ex gf and out of nowhere a Michael Jackson song comes through the speakers in the restaurant. Me and my ex immediately started dancing a bit while still on our chairs. Moving our heads and arms. Then I saw two black women two tables to the right dancing as well and singing. The rest of the place didn"t even move a little lol that was crazy to me, because i don't even like MJ but when the beat starts you kinda go on automatic groove mode.. I think it’s ignorance, most people including Mexicans don’t even know that Mexican have black ancestry. Fact, Mexico was the largest import for African slaves. There are still many cities and areas where Afro-Mexican live and have lived for centuries. When Mexico celebrate their Independence they have to give props to Vicente Guerrero. He played a major in Mexico’s Independence, the abolishment of slavery, as well as was their first black president. There is even a city named after him.
So because of that it's ok for Mexicans to use that word? And no not everyone in Mexico has black anything. U still have indigenous communities that come from Aztec/Mayan blood. Shit sum dont even speak Spanish they speak indigenous dialects. So u missed me with all that Mexican black ancestry.
@@ezedoesitgarcia3458 Trust and believe I am fully aware that not all Mexicans have African blood. That was not the point of what I was trying to say. I was simply pointing out the similarities within the two cultures. Nevertheless that does not negate the facts. That there is a portion of Mexicans that do you have black blood. It seems like you are very aware of your history. With that being said you already know that the reason why Mexicans speak Spanish is because the white Spaniards came over, conquered, raped and enslaved the native people. Those native people that were enslaved were enslaved with the Africans. Which is why there is the mixture of white and African blood within the Mexican culture.
I can't speak for this generation but I remember in the early 90's, the homies would check you for using the "N" word. Especially in the country jail. Today, it seems like 95% of this generation uses it at the end of every sentence. Young Drummer Boy is one of the young artists from Pomona (LA) and yet he NEVER uses the word. I personally wish la raza wouldn't use it but hey, who am I to say. Be safe. - Y.A. Baby West Los Angeles. ✌️

Y’all really buggin’ out. Yes Black and Brown are two powerful groups of people that could create beautiful things together. BUT the use of a slur ain’t it! Justifying the use isn’t how you bring us together. Especially with such a horrific history my people are still going through in the black community and one thing I don’t play about are the people that lost their lives to the shit. So reducing such a huge derogatory term is beyond disrespectful. The bigger picture is breaking tendencies that brought us both in positions of oppression. Break the cycle and show real love without trying so hard to fit in when you already have a seat at the table it’s all so simple. Having southern folks backing it up clearly shows how much of a chokehold these white folks got y’all into thinking it’s okay. Do better and be better PERIOD because the next generation is definitely watching and we want to see all our people out here living long happy healthy lives and bring real change into the world.

👍🏿 Like if you want “others” to stop using the N-WORD It’s corny af plain and simple… you don’t see black folk saying “wassup guey, ese, vato, etc.” cuz we’re not imitating other cultures. It’s flattering that everyone wants to mimic our culture but some shit is just off limits… A real ally would respect that but instead we have everyone telling us we shouldn’t be offended which wouldn’t be the case if we were jewish. I still love my brown brothers and sisters but it’s corny af and hella disrespectful regardless of the context. Most black ppl are uncomfortable with it and if you can’t accept that then you do not respect the culture. I’ve lived in areas where the population is predominantly Hispanic and trust me blacks and browns are not as together as y’all pretending we are. Blacks and browns are mainly together in the hood but outside of the hood and inner cities of America, a lot of Hispanics are racist and almost want to be white. All his friends since birth were black, all his best friends are black yet he was never comfortable using that word in any of his hit songs. The N word is said alot here in California amongst Latinos. It used to be just a Bay Area thing, but now it’s being used and said more than ever before here in Los Angeles with this younger generation.. of course it’s the music that has influenced them.

Better explanation could be okay let's talk history, Vincente Guerrero the 1st Black President of Mexico is big reason why slavery ended in 1st place.
He Not only freed the mexican slaves from Spaniards but also declined the U.S offer of slavery continuing , he basically told them "Slaves make it 2 mexico they are free, come get this shit back in blood homie" that is why Cinco de Mayo is celebrated bc of him.
Not only that but many Mexican Ppl were hanged, killed 4 help free slaves hide them etc not no couple I'm talking hundreds possibly thousands
In the white mans eye Mexicans are "Niggers" too they just call Us "Beaners" 4 more division,
so if any other race gets the pass its Mexicans , deadass were slaves and went thru same shit

I think he was high as fk bruh, but then again indo supposed to expand yo mind 😂😂😂😂😂. Give the mfka a break on this one lol.
Lmao
You can tell the difference between people who say it to be trendy, people who are trying to trigger you in a racist way, and the people who just say it because it was another word for "dude/bro" growing up. A lot of the black people around me just didn't care because they just saw the word as "bro". (I'm black and white btw) It may just be how lots of places here in Texas are, but judging from the comments, there are other places in the US where people do this. It's the same reason FatJoe doesn't get that much flak for saying it. Looool 🤷🏽♀️

It’s about respect at da end of da day. Can you respect if others feel offended to that word to not use it around them. N if others respect you n can respect you using it then cool. It’s all bout respect! Simple

A talent is a talent. Period.👀💯
Rap/HIP HIP is an African American created music genre intended and targeted ONLY FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICAN population. Eveyrthing about This shit- is appropriation "wanna be weak ass energy".
It’s a New York thing that’s just how we grew up talking
Just curious why the Chilean flag is all over the thumbnail?? Did you mean to put the Texas flag?? lol..
Yall need to fix the flags on the thumbnail
Take a shot everytime that dude on the left says “you know what I’m saying” 😂
Its a Texas thing bro but if you ain't from Tx you won't understand.
He's a grown man,let him say whatever he wants to say!Haters are everywhere you just keep doing your thang!
Im kid frost old i was 16 when he dropped. Yall keep doin it. Ppl should experience all culture and music. To each his own i personally dont like the word but there a difference between hate speech and speech that you hate(Tom Mcdonald). Thanks to vets we have that freedom. Stay real stay frosty.
Not just a Texas thing, I’m from Long Beach and we all say it. Mexicans, Samoans, Asians… if you’re from the hood… it never came up in conversation. I didn’t know it was bad until I joined the military and went out in the world. But all my black homies let it slide. It wasn’t a thing.
Mexican is not a race. It is a culture and thats what a lot of people are forgetting. There's white, black and mixed Mexicans. But hey keep allowing the white ones to use next thing you know the Caucasians are going to get a pass too.
You street vendors think the one drop rules allows y’all to steal everybody’s culture 😆😆😆 build the wall
MUCH LOVE TO THE MEXICAN OT FROM CALI!!!
It’s real how he shouts out his homie and says get him on this if you can
0:43 He does what better than who? He raps better than black people that's cap. See how they disrespect out the gate
He was talking about the people that were talking sht.
@@Buoyant_Thoughts ie black people. Don't talk like we are stupid. English is my first language not 2nd. I get the context
@@jerrygraves6531 clearly you don't. People in a particular high school does not encompass a race, just the people he was in school with talking sht. It's not about race, so get off the victim bus.
That’s not disrespect, a lot of mainstream rap is doo-doo that’s why I’ve gotten more open to listening to different races rapping.
@@juliostevens9480 it's disrespect because main stream rap isn't doo doo. He also doesn't do it better. You don't come to black music talking about you do better that's not showing respect
There’s a reason why Eminem never used the N word in any of his music. If anyone has a Pass to use that word of all people it would be Em.
I have good friends that are black but I could never say the N word. For me as a Latino it just doesn’t feel right but to each their own.
Eminem made a racist song called “foolish pride”. Try again brotha
I’m from Houston and when I was younger everyone would say it and I didn’t care, but as I got older I understood the weight of the N word more. I barely like my people using it, but they can if they want! But, the audacity of someone who isn’t black thinking it’s okay because of where you grew up and who you grew up around is idiotic. Just because the black people you know told you it’s okay doesn’t mean we all agree with that. It’s hella disrespectful to me personally.
Yeah, all it says to me is that they never cared enough to take the time to understand the history and why not everybody who's black is okay with it. It's just ignorant to say the least. The whole concept of a "pass" is so silly to me, we don't seem to talk about other peoples' reclaimed slurs like that.
@@oyasumiwaare you aware that mexicans also went through the same history as black people did, they where hung for helping black people escape and treated the same. Thats what the alamo fight was about buh they dont want everyone knowing all of this to keep mexicans and blacks divided because they’re scared of what we can accomplish together 🤷🏻♂️
Nigga nobody cares 😂
born and raised in Houston Texas,(Antoine & Gulfbank back when the Foodarama used to be in the building that DD's Discount is in/when inwood pawn used to be across the street right next to the washateria),1st time out the state of Texas was at age 30,just told a mexican girl today, not to call me the N-word,but i dont let anyone call me the N-word,because i stopped using it myself at the age of 27.most dont respect the history of the word.it can never be flipped to something Good.if that were true.then most socalled black people wouldn't get mad when a white person calls them that
Mexican (Chicano) culture and black (African American) culture are by far the most dominant sub cultures that make American culture what it is.
Not is not black american culture is but not Mexican
That’s a fact and I’m a Black American
@@glitbow7630Stfu y’all literally copy us 😂

I grew up saying. Like OT said, it's always been the Houston culture. Now that I'm waaay older now, I don't say it. However, I still listen to music I love, especially That Mexican OT! 🤘🏽🤘🏽

This is how all my black friends are they don’t care cause they know I grew up in the same environment and that I’d never use it in an offensive way. I said it as a teenager growing up and no one ever questioned me. My homeboys still could care less if I say it to them but it’s different nowadays then it was back then growing up so I don’t use it anymore out of respect
When you "ER" my fine ppl you end up in the "ER". Ya herd.
Using the Flag of Chile in the thumbnail is crazy 😭😭😭😭
