I've had (2) TR 2075 MK II and sold them both because of problems. Was able to get a TR 2080 w/original box and manuals in great condition. Brought it to The Soundsmith in Peekskill New York for reconditioning. They are definitely the Tandberg experts Wasn't cheap and you get a 1 year parts and labor guarantee. Needless to say my TR 2080 is amazing, I'll never sell this one.

Guys, the warm powerfull magnificent sound coming from a Tandberg TR2080 with of course the proper speakers, is fenomenal. It can not be heard from a smartphone’s recording.
You must experience it with your own ears standing or sitting near a set of a genuine Tandberg receiver with a matching set of speakers.
I own several sets, from TR2025 up to TR2080 and have set them up in my house, my study, my office…
I just fell in love in 1976 with the brand and that feeling never left.
    You should try it once….

Thank you for the comments to Nashvin, Vladimir and Trax and Grooves. This Tandberg TR 2080 has been my dreams since end of 70's but on that time the price was about 3 month salary of electric engineer (my education)... This receiver was found from Germany and it is still after these years like new one - an eye candy with brillians sound as Nashvin wrote. Nashivn regonized that I have done something for the sound. I have to fix the sound after making video because of the copyright legislation. In any case I tried to fix the sound as near as the original sound of my system. All of you who has Tandberg products be happy and enjoy the Tandberg music.

Now I got TL 5020 speakers from UK and after preparing the woofer from other speaker I suppose I have the system I never give up. Even the woofer in other speaker is not working 100% the sound is incredible with this TR 2080.

I used to fix receivers and of all the ones I fixed the Tandberg was the best looking and best sounding. I have a 2045. This 2080 looks great but to me it has too many controls and switches.

Doesn't seem like the audio is playing through the speakers. Watched the video with headphones on.. the stereo imaging should have changed while the camera (phone) was being moved assuming the phone mic was picking up the audio. Nevertheless it's an eye candy and the audio used sounds brilliant...

I used Nokia 950 mob phone. In that phone there is the one of the best camera I have ever had in mob phone. I was bitty I could not update that phone to Android because there don't anymore update Apps to Windows. I hope new Nokia phones will be in future like this old one. Now I will focus more to my Tandberg systems and I have under the reparation Tandberg TL 5020 speakers from 70`s.

By my self I keep this one of the most beautiful receiver and sound is also not the worst one if I use high volume with these P&W speakers. Unfortunately it's not possible in block of flats. I have now Tandberg TL 5020 speakers under the reparation and using those speakers the sound will be perfect also on low volume. Then add to the system Lenco L75 turntable from 70's and try to make a new recording.

Finally I had possibility to buy it and even my wife is listening it and let it be in the living room. I think that is a good outlook reference :)
