I kinda study music... BTS is BTS, not K pop. They change genres so often, you can't put them in a box. Autotune is more than just pitch correction. but you're right they are not pitchy singers. watch them live. They get over processed .

They don't use Auto-tune that much. Reverbe (Echo) is not Auto-Tune. Plus they do 4 part to 7 part harmonies! There are 3 rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook) The vocalists have a 3 octave + range. They also record harmonies each on their own parts. Jungkook has been known to 4 to 6 part harmonies by himself for his parts.. Producers around the world have been amazed by their production tracks. People have heard of 8 and 12 track production, but BTS has been know for 60 tracks!
Just a simple but important correction / distinction. They are THE biggest K-POP group with the largest fan base (ARMY) and also the biggest group worldwide in any category. Aside from this being a fire song for sure the video is crazy partially because they used to get a lot of criticism for using CGI/FX which in actuality they seldom use. So just to make fun of their haters they saturated this video with special effects and CGI. As you dive deeper into BTS you will hear plenty of music without Auto-Tune or vocal effects. Just enjoy each style the best you can. Just wait until you start watching their live performances because they are all lit.

BTS is a 7 member group who is now in their 10th year with a 350+ track discography largely written and produced by the members themselves conjoined by their inhouse producers. The leader 'RM' has 210+ credits making him the youngest most credited artist in Korea and the rest of the members are not far behind. BTS is known for being extremely profound at articulating what they introspect and composing it into the sound they with their artistic knowledge believe will deliver the emotion of their lyricsm. They began with their roots in hiphop but have experimented their way into currently having above 10+ genres in their discography with the main being hiphop, pop, r&b and electronic, but majority of the time its a fusion of these genres, or their subgenres. Like latin pop, old school hiphop with boom bap, rap rock, dance pop, ballads, emo hiphop, jazz etc. Since they articulate so well, their music is very human oriented adressing extreme mental health issues (all they way from comforting, motivating, to eery delivery with raw mvs that youtube asks for viewers discretion), sociopolitical commentary etc. Their discography shows the growth from school boys to the tribulations of youth, to addressing temptation, to reaching maturity, to loving onself, to finding the core essence of the mind (i work in the field of psychology and i have yet to find an artist that is as profound as bts in accurately potraying psychological themes) to fighting the pandemic to now doing solo albums as each of the bts members complete their mandatory military. If you have problems with their use of autotune in some of their mv's, i greatly advise you to react to their live performances. I think you would like that more. Cause you will hear all their raw vocals and rap. Cause they sound the best in their live performances.
The auto tune was when the rapper stepped out of the ambulance with the mastermind shirt. They don’t live In auto tune. However, you need to stop using the generic term for auto tune when listening to the MV. It’s musical production. They all have outstanding voices. I respect that you have your own musical tastes and opinions. Try listening to the live versions. I think you have mistaken Jimin’s voice for auto tune. Maybe, you should keep listening to whomever you listened to. They are unique. Not like any other K-pop group. They are the biggest group regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, location in the world. Surprise! I don't see MicDrop listed. BTS members are top rated musicians and singers. Very experienced and talented. You probably should have started with the official MVs, which are far better than this version. Hope you keep watching them so you can learn how good they really are and why they use autotune. Their voices sure don't need it. We'll see how it goes on the next songs.

I know a lot ARMY are giving info to help you out. And I am aware that you really like SM groups, i.e. NCT, EXO, and others from SM Entertainment. But the biggest difference that I am aware of when it comes to the two companies, SM, concentrates on vocals and dancing. HYBE (Big Hit) concentrates on vocals, rapping, dancing, and most of all BTS writes and produces their own music from the beginning. ARMY can probably name how many songs they have done that they didn't write one one hand, within the 10 years they have been out. However, SM uses past Western artists' songs, not to mention western writers, producers, and composers. A lot. I am not saying that is a bad thing. As a matter of fact that is has been a normal practice in the west since they started recording music. What I am saying is that before u critique anyone in BTS, prehaps learning their backstory and what they went through to get where they are before you say they constantly use auto tune. Which BTW the only time they did use auto tune was RM's rap part in Mic Drop, which was the Korean version, not the version that was released in America. Steve Aoki changed the beat. The rest was all their raw vocals. Yes, they clean up their vocals, and every artist, whether it is Western or Eastern, does for releases. But no auto tune, except the one part. I hope you didn't see this as an attack. Just wanted to clear a few things up for you. You kept using auto tune a lot, and yes, you seemed very biased against them at first. Dude, wrong version!!!!! It has to be the official "Mic Drop Steve Aoki Remix". It has 1.3 billion views and is Hybe labels. I have no idea what this one is!!! 🤣 They are the biggest group in the world. They have left Kpop in the dust! After 11 American Music Awards, (including Artist of the Year.), record setting 12 Billboard Awards, and 5 Grammy nominations, and over 700 awards worldwide, they are global now. Always use official videos from Hyde Labels; those will have English lyrics (as well as many other languages) as an option. Mic Drop (Steve Aioki Remix) is about half English. There are other reliable sources for accurate subtitles for live performances. I would suggest the channel “Enjoy BTS More”. Btw, BTS has a discography of around 350 songs/tracks including group, sub-unit and solo work. They are absolutely not any one genre. You name it, they’ve likely done it. React to The Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7” by Taylor Mari. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 (You’ll learn what that means in the guide.). Last…the biggest group in the world…not just K-Pop.

bts really only used most of it for rapping as a stylistic choice because it's in style most of the other artists use it for singing because kpop likes to make groups of people who just look good and aren't necessarily talented with vocals so a lot need them lolololol bts does not

Allow me to convey my opinion for reactors who new to BTS, Simple facts, Hundreds of BTS' song since 2013, and they are not type of band that stick to one music genre then of course not all of songs fit our personal preference. Also facts, even reactors listened 10 of BTS songs but still they didn't feel it then It means BTS haven't found them, BTS is not for you... yet😅. Like RM said, BTS not for everyone😅. If you familiar to their songs, You gonna find Jhope, Suga real voice sometimes sound like using autotune. Fact: Songs compose by professional, if there's autotune then it means autotune needed for the art of the song not because they can't sing. For your information, i don't know where you get the version of MV of micdrop. But that's not the official MV. The official MV of micdrop is the chorus is english not in korean.
You chose the wrong Mic Drop mv, it’s not the original remix video so the beat doesn’t go with the video. You have to react to the Mic Drop Steve Aeoki remix, which is actually the more English remix. You have to watch out when picking the videos to react to. Always pick the original ones please.
DOPE is indeed a Dope song cause it can SAVE a nation like South Korea from going extinct. Dope in the surface doesn't seem much, looks like another typical Kpop song with catchy beats and nice visual and nonsense lyrics. But Dope is a BTS song, also written by BTS members so it is expected that it is more that what meets the eye 👀. In the surface they seem to be bragging about how cool and awesome they are compared to other people (A theme which is quite generic in Kpop) But BTS is only using the Kpop tropes as facade or distraction so only a small no. or only selected people can understand their song. (Basically not even ARMY's can understand this song) Fortunately, I recently discovered something suspicious in the MV, and because it's written in German, I need to dig a lot deeper and researched a lot of stuff about what happened in Germany on year 2013. Now for me, everything in the dope lyrics now makes sense. They're not talking nonsense at all, they're talking deep stuff about Social Injustices, the unfair gap between generation and the huge gap between the upper class low class. It also talks about capitalism and politics. So in Dope, BTS not only showed the biggest problem in South Korea which even their government can't even solve, BTS are also showing solutions to it, which the SK government or K citizen failed to notice since BTS is regarded as another Kpop group. Anyways Their outfits has deep meaning, their choreography has deep meaning, their background has deep meaning, their lyrics has deep meaning, even more so in verses like given up on 3, and 5 but I like 6 and even their music video sketch and photo concepts has deeper meaning. Anyways, it will probably take another 50 years for others to realize how impactful this song is, and how this song can potentially save highly developed nations from extinction. And this is not the only BTS song that is highly rebellious that is hiding in plain sight.😅 And I'm glad those songs aren't banned.

The way the audio is the OG and the MV is the Steve Aoki remix. The autotune was a stylistic choice. I love the mirror bit because- where is the camera? Where is Taehyung before he comes in? How did they DO that? Don't like the auto tune? Watch the live versions.
Oh dear not sure where you got the MV for Mic Drop from as it's not official and it's not right at all. Someone has been playing around with 2 different versions. The original with is a much heaver beat and is done with a live band it's which is also longer with no English while the Steve Akoia Remix is partly in English and partly in Korean. RM raps in English. I thought it look a bit grainie and poor quality even sound is a bit off.

Overall, I liked your reaction. I do agree with some of the others, watch a different Mic Drop. They honestly don't use a whole lot of Auto Tune, so it's unfortunate that's what you found. I would recommend a guide - Like Taylor's guide to BTS - the Bangtan 7. I don't know the exact name, but you should be able to find it.
They also do a few remixes to this song there is a holiday remix and a remix with Megan thee stallion as well. They even performed butter with Megan the stallion on their LA concert
First, the vocal line of BTS have wide range with their voice. Second, you are not watching the actual MV of Mic Drop, you watched the track version hence you think there's something missing but they are actually lit in their MV and live performances of the song.
The video of Mic Drop is the wrong one. The audio is the original version. The video is supposed to he the Remix with Steve Aoki. I think that is why you can't get the english subs. Video should be coming from Hybe Labels.
For IDOL there is a lot of green background because some haters said that BTS used a lot of green background for their previous song so they used a lot of green background in this song to piss off the haters

Tiny Desk Concert, Cover of COLDPLAYS “Fix You” are great examples of their voices. Also, this version is NOT KOREAN, I think it might be Japanese and it’s very different as far as sound is concerned. Look for Korean version & use ENGLISH subtitles. 💙

Ok so, before I finish watching your reaction to the rest of the videos, I have to say that for Mic drop, I believe you have the wrong video up. It doesn't seem like a finished video. I'm like looking and expecting certain effect noises and certain beat sounds on certain parts but its not showing anything from the official mv. Like when RM steps out of the ambulance, there is a different sound that didn't play on here. I think that you would like that one a lot better. They don't use Auto-tune that much. Reverbe (Echo) is not Auto-Tune. Plus they do 4 part to 7 part harmonies! There are 3 rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook) The vocalists have a 3 octave + range. They also record harmonies each on their own parts. Jungkook has been known to 4 to 6 part harmonies by himself for his parts.. Producers around the world have been amazed by their production tracks. People have heard of 8 and 12 track production, but BTS has been know for 60 tracks!

Just a simple but important correction / distinction. They are THE biggest K-POP group with the largest fan base (ARMY) and also the biggest group worldwide in any category.
Aside from this being a fire song for sure the video is crazy partially because they used to get a lot of criticism for using CGI/FX which in actuality they seldom use. So just to make fun of their haters they saturated this video with special effects and CGI.

They will come back as a group in 2025!

I know a lot ARMY are giving info to help you out. And I am aware that you really like SM groups, i.e. NCT, EXO, and others from SM Entertainment. But the biggest difference that I am aware of when it comes to the two companies, SM, concentrates on vocals and dancing. HYBE (Big Hit) concentrates on vocals, rapping, dancing, and most of all BTS writes and produces their own music from the beginning. ARMY can probably name how many songs they have done that they didn't write one one hand, within the 10 years they have been out. However, SM uses past Western artists' songs, not to mention western writers, producers, and composers. A lot. I am not saying that is a bad thing. As a matter of fact that is has been a normal practice in the west since they started recording music. What I am saying is that before u critique anyone in BTS, prehaps learning their backstory and what they went through to get where they are before you say they constantly use auto tune. Which BTW the only time they did use auto tune was RM's rap part in Mic Drop, which was the Korean version, not the version that was released in America. Steve Aoki changed the beat. The rest was all their raw vocals. Yes, they clean up their vocals, and every artist, whether it is Western or Eastern, does for releases. But no auto tune, except the one part.
I hope you didn't see this as an attack. Just wanted to clear a few things up for you. You kept using auto tune a lot, and yes, you seemed very biased against them at first. Always use official videos from Hyde Labels; those will have English lyrics (as well as many other languages) as an option. Mic Drop (Steve Aioki Remix) is about half English. There are other reliable sources for accurate subtitles for live performances. I would suggest the channel “Enjoy BTS More”. Btw, BTS has a discography of around 350 songs/tracks including group, sub-unit and solo work. They are absolutely not any one genre. You name it, they’ve likely done it. React to The Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7” by Taylor Mari. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 (You’ll learn what that means in the guide.). Last…the biggest group in the world…not just K-Pop.

Simple facts,
Hundreds of BTS' song since 2013, and they are not type of band that stick to one music genre then of course not all of songs fit our personal preference.

For songs with heavy coreography they do use backing tracks but you can definitelly hear their live voices on top. With ballads, you can hear their voices at the fullests. About the MV of IDOL, you can understand it more if you what "IDOL explained by a Korean", there is a lot of symbolism and korean references and double meanings about their message of the song

For your information, i don't know where you get the version of MV of micdrop. But that's not the official MV. The official MV of micdrop is the chorus is english not in korean.

You chose the wrong Mic Drop mv, it’s not the original remix video so the beat doesn’t go with the video. You have to react to the Mic Drop Steve Aeoki remix, which is actually the more English remix. You have to watch out when picking the videos to react to. Always pick the original ones please.

DOPE is indeed a Dope song cause it can SAVE a nation like South Korea from going extinct.
Dope in the surface doesn't seem much, looks like another typical Kpop song with catchy beats and nice visual and nonsense lyrics.
But Dope is a BTS song, also written by BTS members so it is expected that it is more that what meets the eye 👀.
In the surface they seem to be bragging about how cool and awesome they are compared to other people (A theme which is quite generic in Kpop)
But BTS is only using the Kpop tropes as facade or distraction so only a small no. or only selected people can understand their song. (Basically not even ARMY's can understand this song)
Fortunately, I recently discovered something suspicious in the MV, and because it's written in German, I need to dig a lot deeper and researched a lot of stuff about what happened in Germany on year 2013.
Now for me, everything in the dope lyrics now makes sense. They're not talking nonsense at all, they're talking deep stuff about Social Injustices, the unfair gap between generation and the huge gap between the upper class low class.
It also talks about capitalism and politics.
So in Dope, BTS not only showed the biggest problem in South Korea which even their government can't even solve, BTS are also showing solutions to it, which the SK government or K citizen failed to notice since BTS is regarded as another Kpop group.
Anyways
Their outfits has deep meaning, their choreography has deep meaning, their background has deep meaning, their lyrics has deep meaning, even more so in verses like given up on 3, and 5 but I like 6 and even their music video sketch and photo concepts has deeper meaning.
Anyways, it will probably take another 50 years for others to realize how impactful this song is, and how this song can potentially save highly developed nations from extinction.
And this is not the only BTS song that is highly rebellious that is hiding in plain sight.😅 And I'm glad those songs aren't banned.

The way the audio is the OG and the MV is the Steve Aoki remix. The autotune was a stylistic choice.

Oh dear not sure where you got the MV for Mic Drop from as it's not official and it's not right at all. Someone has been playing around with 2 different versions. The original with is a much heaver beat and is done with a live band it's which is also longer with no English while the Steve Akoia Remix is partly in English and partly in Korean. RM raps in English. I thought it look a bit grainie and poor quality even sound is a bit off.

Overall, I liked your reaction. I do agree with some of the others, watch a different Mic Drop. They honestly don't use a whole lot of Auto Tune, so it's unfortunate that's what you found. I would recommend a guide - Like Taylor's guide to BTS - the Bangtan 7. I don't know the exact name, but you should be able to find it.

First, the vocal line of BTS have wide range with their voice. Second, you are not watching the actual MV of Mic Drop, you watched the track version hence you think there's something missing but they are actually lit in their MV and live performances of the song.
The video of Mic Drop is the wrong one. The audio is the original version. The video is supposed to he the Remix with Steve Aoki. I think that is why you can't get the english subs. Video should be coming from Hybe Labels.

Each BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan, aka, Beyond The Scene) is different, incorporating artistic choices, keeping their tracks unpredictable. If you haven't already, check their LIVE performances over the years (and/or their dance practice videos where they prep for huge live performances) - they change up their performances and do variations of their hits all the time. Autotune? They don't need it, but they can use it if they want to play with it... in other words, they know what they're doing;) Btw, they do some songs in English, Korean mixed w/ English, and Japanese as well... and have even performed in Korean-English-Spanish:)
Ok so, before I finish watching your reaction to the rest of the videos, I have to say that for Mic drop, I believe you have the wrong video up. It doesn't seem like a finished video. I'm like looking and expecting certain effect noises and certain beat sounds on certain parts but its not showing anything from the official mv. Like when RM steps out of the ambulance, there is a different sound that didn't play on here. I think that you would like that one a lot better. Plus the official mv has more English in it, and what's is not in English there are accurate English captions. This is the official MV: 'BTS (방탄소년단) 'MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)' Official MV'.
