I love that you gave Layne his much-deserved praise. It's easy to be overwhelmed and distracted by Eli's vocal range or Geoff's bass, but that drumming is so essential!
The instrumentals in these groups over get overlooked because they get less screen time. But my ears are wired to the instrumental before the vocalists for some reason. I just absolutely love LAYNE and GEOFF ❤️👊🏽
They out do themselves every time! I cannot stop watching this, it is amazing!! Geoff hits 3 B0's! Eli has become the Asgardian god of rock, Layne is a beatboxing god, Cesar has become a Berserker, and J None has shown us that rap indeed belongs in acapella! And Miracle of Sound gave this 10 out of 10 raised ale horns!! Great reaction! This from the Assasins Creed Valhalla video game, but that rap is all J None!! So much fun watching your reaction to this one!! I am very old, so had never heard this. J None was with Voiceplay from 2018 to 2021, when he was recruited by the US Navy to sing with them. He is about half way through a year hitch. He has been back while on leave to sing with them. The rap was not part of the original, was written by a friend of theirs and performed by J. The bald tenor is Eli, pronounced ELL-ee, he is a rocking beast, but can sing sweet and mellow. They just released their cover of Seven Nation Army, you will love it. Layne is crazy good in it as well.
Or, try something completely from them, I Can't Make You Love Me. Their cover is gorgeous, but will break your heart. Be warned.

Sorry if I'm repeating ... You already know Geoff and Layne. The three others are rock star tenor Eli (rhymes with jelly), tenor Cesar - with the Mohawk hairstyle, and J.None, who is a former member and now sings for the US Navy; he comes back occasionally, and we love him.

Geoffs' bass gets me every time. Goosebumps and hot flashes all at once. That's Eli (Ellie) rhymes with jelly. We call him the Rock Tenor. You should also turn on the CC so you can see the lyrics. The rapper is J. None former member who joined the Navy in 2021. When he is home on leave he does this with the guys.

Hahaha! Fantastic reaction! Yeah, these guys will do that to you; goosebumps and chills and making your hair stand up in the best kind of way. That's one of the best things about VoicePlay- they always hit you somewhere in the feels; the emotional connection is always present.
I have a few reactors who have kids that sit in on the reactions and are getting really good at not being too shy. VoicePlay does have a fair selection of Disney as well as some like Hoist the Colours from the Pirates of the Caribbean. If the kids are older and into gaming, Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, or the Halo theme, some good old rock songs: like Carry On My Wayward Son, Dream On, Nothing Else Matters, another Viking song My Mother Told Me from the 9th century, not to mention In the Hall of the Mountain King (Edvard Gried 1875) complete with cauldron, trolls, things to drop into the pot to change voices and tempo.

Nobody expected the rap section as it isnt in the original song. It was written for this cover. The man doing it is J.None, who used to be a full member of VoicePlay but left in 2021 to sing with the US Navy music section. He returns when on leave as a guest performer.

I’ll def be continuing down the VP rabbit hole. Layne is a beast, the beatboxers can sometimes be overlooked because the vocalist get more screen time. But I can hear everything he is doing because my ears always focus on the instrumental of the groups before the vocalist for some reason.

And their song Man of Constant Sorrow is a great one to start with! I’m not trying to distract your start of your Nf journey by no means but ma’am.................. if you want to hear the most amazing and beautiful voice that I’ve ever heard then please please check out. Angelina Jordan- and her cover I Put a Spell On You ........... she’s 9 years old in this video and not only sings it but she did the arrangement for it as well at 9!!!
