Qtrio is not about the number of musicians, it is a composition style With two melodic lines and a constant bass, so the partition is three lines. So the clavinet is reading one of the Three lines.
The trio sonata or sonata a tre is one of the most important musical forms of chamber music of the Baroque period (17th century and first half of the 18th century). The genus was born in Italy at the dawn of the seventeenth century, in the Lombardy-Veneto area. The first examples attributable to this genre are the trios of Adriano Banchieri (1601), Lodovico Bellanda (1607) and Biagio Marini (1617), which then spread to the rest of the peninsula and reached its peak in the Roman school, with the four publications (op. 1-4) by Arcangelo Corelli, which will greatly influence the production of the rest of Europe. The writing of a trio sonata is for two melodic instruments and continuo; in total there are therefore three parts, hence the name. However, since the figured bass is usually performed by several instruments (for example, in addition to the harpsichord or other keyboard instrument that is essential for making the figured bass, one or more other bass instruments are added as reinforcement such as the cello, the viola gamba or bassoon; sometimes a lute or a theorbo is also added, obtaining in this case a double realization of the harmony), the trio sonatas are most often performed with at least four instruments.
Trio sonata = instrumental piece (= "sonata") for three parts (= "trio") - two melodic instruments & basso continuo. Popular during the baroque period.
@@patriciaoudart1508 Yes, but the "bass" is, firstly, an independent line as the other two lines are. It is not just a figured bass, which is a harmonic support provided by a keyboard instrument. Bach's Trio Sonatas for Organ illustrate the trio sonata principle. However, the bass line can consist of both a melody instrument, playing a third, independent line, and a continuo instrument, providing keyboard harmonic support

Happy Birthday Telemann! botd 1681🥳
I love Tabea !
The enlightenment of what highly skilled players can do without recording studio ‘adjustments’. Lovely.
Must listen to more Telemann.
Merveilleux, superbe
🙏🧡💚😺😱👍Quelle virtuosité! Quel rapidité de souffle!
Very relaxing music! Thanks for the video!
Gold for the ears!
Crikey! What a joyful romp! I'd love to hear more of this and if somebody is brave enough to explain what a trio sonata is, I'd like to hear that too.

Magnificent!

Sublime!
Watching this, for some reason I started to think about Haydn's Baryton trios. I wonder if the OAE has a baryton and a baryton player working there.
Outstanding!
awesome ! with what flute is she playing ?
who is the maker ?
Looks like an alto recorder to me.
@@mantistoboggan2676 In a lot of places in the world the recorder is just called a flute.
