All very new to the bike world and after spending over £500 and still having the same problems this video has solved the problem .. no idea why the garage didn't pick this up but I've one happy son now .. thank you 👍
You guys are great I just buy a new scooter 2 week ago then start turn off but I learned today from you and am not going see mechanic but I will do it myself. Thanks for the video
Hey man just bumped into this I appreciate it so much I had to keep my hand on the throttle for a good minute getting home and doing this helped my scooter stay on well appreciated boss💪🏽🤞🏽
If this works you are literally saving me. I have been to four mechanics already for this problem and they all say that there isn't anything wrong and that the problem is with how I'm stopping.... I will try this tonight!! Thank you!
when the wheel spins on idle tho its not enough to move you but it does mean that the clutch is in contact with the bell and that means wear. what i do is I run the engine cold, and when the enricher stops, it drops in a very low rpm, that's when i adjust it low enough that it doesn't stall after the enricher turns off.
Yes sir. It's a 150. I couldn't reach the screw, nor could I see if it was a torx, Phillips, or hex. So I took it to the local motorcycle shop in visalia ca. The guy said it was a 2.5mm hex. So he gave it a turn or two. Brought up the idle and away I went. (He didn't even charge me) I rode around town like i had been doing before. And after over an hour or so of riding in city traffic, making u turns and stopping at intersections.. The bike give me no more problems. 🤙🏾
You saved my life just got a 2020 beast grom bike just yesterday and it started dying out on me ...mind you I. Don't know anything about bikes so I started to freak out 😂😂😂 but I came across your video and Wallaa just like that it stayed on
Thank you, this fixed my problem! Interestingly enough, Honda Metropolitans have a tiny hole in the maintenance lid specifically for access to that screw!
Must be nice that this solved everyone else's problem with it. Mine however still stalled anytime I hit the back break whether I tightened or loosened it so what's the next reason it could be doing this.
Check your vacuum lines that run from the intake manifold to the fuel petcock and make sure there isn't a crack in them. Also make sure there isn't a crack in the intake manifold spacer that goes between the intake manifold and the head of the motor. Could be a crack somewhere.
I had that problem, to solve it I set the air/fuel mixture screw 1-1/2 turns out and then the idel at 1900rpm when cold, after warmup rpm is at 1900~2300 problem solved.
I jus bought a new scooter yesterday. Engine bogs down and cuts out all the time, especially when i indicate or have lights on. Freakin annoying. Jus soent a grand on a faulty bike on gumtree, feels bad man.
WIth it being that new, I'd take it back where you bought it. If it bogs down when you use indicators, etc. then it's probably an electrical problem. I would start diagnosing by checking all your ground wires first to make sure none of them are broken.
Great stuff ! Thank you ! My relatively new Piaggio scooter keeps dying out whenever I'm idle, I will try this when I get home ! I assume the screw simply gets a bit loose over time from all the bumps and shocks on the road.
No problem! It could come loose, but it's more likely that there are external factors leading to it... break-in of the vehicle / wear over time, warm / cool weather, etc.
@@NewScooters4Less Same thing with my brand new 2018 Bintelli Scorch that I got on November 19th, 2019. So I'm assuming it's either the warm/cold weather that keeps changing down here in St. Petersburg, FL, it breaking in, since it's coming near 500 miles, but currently at 450 miles, or my carb cleaned or replaced.
@@JovanteeBlair In this instance, probably breaking in. Your unit is so new that adjusting it and fine-tuning in the first 500 miles is pretty normal. Thanks!

I have a brand new scooter and it dies as well at an idle or coming to a stop. We have adjusted the throtal and that doesn't help it. We have had nothing but issues from the get go. The automatic electric choke was burning out, magneto was not gapped properly, the company we purchased it from sent us a new carborator and everything. Do you have any idea what we should check before my boyfriend throws it in a ditch somewhere?

Ive got a 250cc scooter the other day I was riding it and it felt like it was running out of gas but it picked up started running but it doesn't have the acceleration like it did before that ordeal
what about the opposite. so mine works well cold, picks up very quickly. but after 2 mins then the bike bogs , i then have to fether the throttle up to it gets to a higher or around 20mph speed then works fine. please get back to me if you get yhe chance. many thanks, rich
Mate, that is not my issue. The scooter dies whenever I slow down, before I stop at the light, or stop sign. Mine is a Piaggio BV 500, and it is fuel injected. Looks like it had the wrong spark plug, and there was what looked like golden fluid, anti seize I'm guessing, that ran down the threads onto the spark head. Cleaned it out, put in the right spark plug, same problem. Won't idle well when sitting, and needed help to stay going at 3 minutes, and later at around 7 minutes. Meaning a little gas. Cut off completely at 7.5 minutes. And again, bike shuts of whenever I brake to slow down for a red light. Any idea what the issue could be? Note, I did change the air filter prior, and it was worn out. Could that be the issue? It being fuel injected wouldn't the idle reset based upon the now improved air flow, or is this something I need to do manually? Does the Piaggio BV 500 circa 2007 have an ECU that has an idle reset procedure,. or no? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
There are several problems it could be. For a bike this big though, they plug up to Piaggio's computer system and a computer can tell the technician what's going on or the tech can at the very least get readings, etc. I'm afraid you are going to have to get it to a Vespa Piaggio Dealership for this one...
Hi mate, I have a Peugeot vivacity 9/02 can not get started, have got spark and fuiel, can not find how to check valves or were the cover is, it was running 2 year’s ago but would conk out after running awhile, now trying to use it again, can you help, I’m thinking it may have sticking valves?? Regards Chris
I'd assume it's carburetor related, especially if it's been sitting that long. I am not familiar with that scooter though, so I would recommend getting it into a shop close to you. Thank you!
I have the exact same problem with my scooter, except mine has fuel injection, not a carburetor. What should I do with it? And it's not just when it's cold, it happens all the time for me. I check the engine, and don't think that there is an idle adj screw like the one in this video.
When I turned this screw on mine, I know I used to be able to make it so my idle rpm was high enough to get my wheel turning, but lately with the screw turned up completely, my idle is only about 1200 rpm, which is nearly enough to keep the scooter running, but sometimes not quite.
Thks four your video I have a Peugeot V-Clic 50cc 4T from 2012 is same carburetor when I start up the idle is keep up and down up again and down is any reason ??? Thank you very much Jersey uk ❤
Hi, I have a concern in my scooter. Every time I slow down to turn or ride across a hump on a road, my sccoter will suddenly have a slight burst in speed. Is there any fix to this? I tried adjusting the idle speed but it's still doing the same speed bursting
Hmmmm... maybe a vacuum / air problem. Check your vacuum lines to make sure they aren't getting pinched by a shock or something when you turn. Also make sure none of the lines are interfering with your throttle cable on your carburetor.
I was having the problem of riding for 3-4 miles and then the moment i stop accelerating my scooter turns off. So i did what u recommended here and its working now, but could it be that now i have way too high idle ? My scooter sometimes starts moving with no acceleration and my fuel consumption went up like crazy? Could lowering help or you would recommend something else ?
Yes. Turning up the idle delivers more fuel to the engine to keep it running, so if it is turned up too much it will burn more fuel and it will start moving with no accelerator being turned. I would recommend turning it down. Sometimes you have to find that sweet spot between it being too low and dying out and being too high.
hi, i didnt use my scooter this winter, and now, when its on the stand its starts but when i leave it down it will just cut out, i kept it running on the stand a few minutes to warm up but then it was doing the same, do you know what it could be??
Is a vacuum line or fuel line getting pinched by something when it comes off the center stand? I would check your lines to make sure they aren't caught up in a shock or something.
@@NewScooters4Less even if the scooter is not running and is not on stand it dosent start, i was thinking is something to do with the wheal being in the ground and not being able to spin..
@@sarahmulqueen9014 I'm not sure I understand. If it's starting and the wheel won't spin and feels stuck, you could have a broken clutch spring or another transmission problem.
@@NewScooters4Less sorry about that english is my second language, the wheal is spinning when is on the stand, but when i leave it down the engine just stops, and its a 125 cc twist and go there's no clutch, its ok nevermind i think i need a mechanic to check it properly, thank you
@@sarahmulqueen9014 Not a problem. If the wheel is spinning when it is on the stand, the idle may be turned up a tad bit high. There is a clutch, but it's a CVT transmission (meaning it's automatic, aka - twist and go). I would definitely get it into a shop when you can! Good luck!
My issue: Where you have it on the center stand it idles fine, but the back wheel is moving. When I hit the rear brake, then it dies out. It's like the power from the motor never disengages from the back wheel. Thoughts?
Is your concern that the back wheel is moving when it is on the center stand? (As long as the scooter doesn't feel like it is pushing you when it is on the ground,) it's ok for the back wheel to move a little bit when on the center stand because when it is on the ground, it won't. Does that make sense? (Think about it like a car... When you take your foot off the brake in a car and it is in Drive, it wants to creep forward. Your foot on the brake is keeping it from moving forward. It's similar with a scooter... when your scooter is off the center stand and on the ground, the brake and your body weight keep the scooter from moving forward (unless of course the idle is too too high and the scooter feels like it is pushing your forward when idling)). Hope that helps!
Oh it’s definitely pushing me. It jerks the whole scooter with each stroke of the motor until it dies. I’ve adjusted the carb with the same symptoms. That’s why I wonder if it’s the transmission assembly
@@93paxon I'm almost willing to bet it is 100%! Sounds like the clutch may still be engaged when you are at a stop. Probably a popped spring on the clutch assembly! Definitely check that out!
Fairly new apriliia storm scooter. Engines dies when throttle is pulled. But doesnot have any problem once it gets warmed up. Will this solve the issue. It happens everyday when trying to start the scooter.
Check the fuel-air mixture. Some scooters have a screw to adjust. You may be able to adjust the needle in the carb or you may be able to adjust how much air is being sucked into the air filter. Sounds like an adjustment there will help.
I have an opposite case. The idle is slightly high and my scooter is pushing forward in idle. So I tried adjusting that screw by unscrewing it as far as it could. But that's not bringing down the rev. What's the problem?
Is your throttle cable too short? Did you recently replace that? You should be able to adjust the cable some too at the throttle handle and on the carb. It could be pulling to much on the carb (giving it too much gas)
So today I’m going to buy myself a gilera runner 180 vx witch is the 4stroke version the bike starts up fine and rides nice but once I come to a stop it dies out but will start back up and go again also the bike seems to back fire and crackle and pop I was thinking if not the idle maybe I should try clean or change spark plug and old oil?
Probably fuel and air mixture is off. I don't know anything about that bike, but I would look at spark plug, carb, air filter, vacuum lines and make sure everything is good there.
Hi thank you for your video I have a Piaggio Zip 50 2T when I drive and give a full acceleration is luck like is cutting down you don’t now way please thank you
My scooter is doing what you described. Problem is, my idle screw is already maxed out. I also adjusted the throttle for an idle. Now when it warms up the normal idle will rev higher and try to roll on a stop. It still starts like it's flooded and dies at stops until it warms up good. But onece the engine is hot it performs normal. I am guessing an adjustment at the air/fuel mixture. Or a leaky vacuum line. I will just put it in a shop and describe what's happening.
Yo Adam. I think you are on the right track. My first inclination was a vacuum leak somewhere. Also check the intake manifold. I've seen them cracked on the base sometimes.
My garage called that the throttle tension screw. They said that if you're tweaking t it to keep your scoot alive there's probably another issue! That's why once you've adjusted it, the engine doesn't die down as quickly as it did when you release the throttle. Maybe air leaks in the rubber manifold or the idle speed screw (on the side) isn't adjusted correctly.
The screw on the side (depending on the type of scooter) is usually a fuel / air mixture adjustment. With the idle screw (what I'm showing in the video), if you have to tighten it all the way down to keep it alive, there is definitely a problem. Like you suggested... a vacuum leak through the manifold, etc.

Does it have a carburetor? Sounds like it may be fuel injected? I'd try to get it into a shop nearby to see what's going on. Sorry we can't be more help with this one!
What would be the difference to tune the carb by this bolt and not the fuel bolt? I noticed my bikes is really hard to start on cold and shuts off at stops from times to times although the idle speed is strong and stable since i tuned my carb. on cold starts it starts usually with the help of turning slightly the handle about 1/8, so perhaps this bolt will do the job
Are you talking about the fuel / air mixture screw? The video shows the idle adjustment, so it is different. Not sure I completely understand what you are asking though.
HELLO PLZ HELP ! when i start mine , it doesnt a actually keep that rev ... in about 4 seconds it allways die out when stoped ... SO can it be screwing it up a little when its OFF then see if it fixed ??? and is it propubly coz the battery thats dying? or a some dirty in the carb???? thnx a lot
I have a Chinese 50cc scooter. I just bought it it runs while holding the accelerator then dies 5 seconds after letting it go. I’m thinking spark plug. What you think the problem is? Oh it’s been sitting about 4 years I have cleaned the carb and flushed out old gas and got it to run
You are still having fuel system issues. In this case, it is usually less time and money for you to replace the fuel system. I would drain all fuel, clean and recoat the fuel tank if necessary to make sure there is no rust inside of it, replace the fuel line, fuel filter, fuel petcock, carburetor, and spark plug. I'd also replace the vacuum line because I imagine it is rotted and prone to leaks.
If you're idle is just low, this will fix the problem. Been doing this for 17 years. Sure, there could be deeper issues... vacuum leaks, etc. but sometimes this is all you need.
Subbed, liked and everything! Guys, what we do on a scooter without carburetors? I own a pcx 150 and it happened to shut down exactly as you said on low idle, or coming to a stop to check the surroundings before crossing a crossroad. The honda service here cannot find any problem. I dont say it happens a lot, but you know... you dont want your scooter to shut down during turning! Its a 2014 model, I dont use idle-stop and I dont know what to do. Should I change battery, fuel pump or something? Also the side-stand that turns off the engine when deployed, works fine (as they said). Any suggestions? I read some comments below and for 150cc or more that are fuel injected like mine, perhaps we should try adjusting the throttle-something? I am even ashamed to tell them "hey i looked up the problem on youtube and this is the possible solution". Its authorized service...Thanks a lot in advance!
This stuff is so incredibly tough to 'diagnose' through comment threads, but just reading your comment, I'm wondering if you could have a short somewhere. Do you just lose power sometimes when making a turn? I would think that a wire is exposed in the harness and when you turn and that wire rubs the frame, it is shorting out and causing it to cut out. Are you blowing fuses or anything?
New Scooters 4 Less thanks a lot for your reply! Well, I checked around the right side of the handlebar, where the throttle cord wire and rest things run around. I happened to see two rectangular fuse-like things (sorry but im not sure what they are exactly), which had two thin cords inside, yellow and green. And I saw the colors, because they were exposed, they didnt seem to have exposed or torn though. I pushed them back again and then I rode away. Pushed the bike with some strong brakings and then sudden throttle and no shutdowns happened. I dont know if it was a coincidence, but will still keep my eye on them. Perhaps the small protective boxes got loose because of the summer temperature? We have 40s during the day and 35s C during the night. Anyway, you can see our authorized service here is... Oh well! Also, my disc brake looks like de-painted/scratched in an arc part. Could it be because of bent discs or faulty calipers? Because in the past I could hear a squeak whenever the bike was moving, with the sound increasing when accelerating. Service told me "I cannot hear anything". By the way I bought the bike brand new, not second hand. Thanks a lot again!
@@timelostdream I'd have to see what the wires and rectangular boxes are you were referring to, but that could have been it. Probably wasn't a fuse as I have never seen a fuse in the handlebar panel before, but if any wire was exposed or not intact correctly, it could cause issues for sure, so maybe that was your issue. Hope you don't have any more problems there. I wouldn't sweat the brake disc. It's going to show wear over time. I'd only be concerned if you have excessive squeeking or if the scoot feels like it is pulsating when driving or braking. Best wishes!
New Scooters 4 Less I took a photo with my phone, its not very clear but you can see the green and yellow wires and the rectangular male/female "boxes". I will make you a plan here for now Ξ===[ ] [ ] Ξ===[ ] [ ] So here is the explanation: Ξ is the black wire tape cover that covers the green and yellow wire === are the two wires, green and yellow (so the wire tape has moved by hand, not mine ofc, or from the environment heat) [ ] are the male and female boxes I guess. There are two halves of them, thats why I think they are male/female. The one that was slightly off to the left was the lower left one. After I pushed it back, no problems at all. Will send the photo later too. Thanks a lot again for your replies! The right side halves seem to be stable and immobile
@@NewScooters4Less here is the photo I took imgur.com/a/tHnAsgf The phone is looking at the right side and its placed between the grips, in the middle of the handlebar. So.i did this and found it still wasn't staying on I went to the throttle cable on the carb and now it revs wayyyyy to high and if I even move the screw it dies down if I adjust it ... What am I doing wrong or what do I need to adjust instead the cable back more slack or tight ? And loosen the bold more ? I'm at a loss going 30 mph with 100 cc
For me? It seem to be a different problem.. As if the Starter clutch or drive clutch is sticking when I hit the brake. My scoot stops as soon as the wheel stops?
Have you opened the transmission casing and looked inside? Maybe a broken spring in there on the clutch or something. Should be able to pop off the case and take a look around.
Is it bogging down at full throttle or is it cutting out every time you give it throttle? It could be several things, but I would start by checking the air filter, making sure its clean and that there are no cracks or anything in the air box. Check for any air leaks (cracks) in the intake manifold (the part between the head and the carburetor). You could have some gummed up old gas in your carburetor / blocked jet, too. Has the scooter been sitting without use for a while?
I have one question... Please help me this. 1) During initial acceleration in my mopped it is not moving... I need to raise it even more than a other mopped. 2) Engine turns off when the scooter is not running.
I’m really sorry, but I’m not sure what you’re asking. If your scooter is cutting out on you, then yes… you may need need to increase the idle a little bit.
@@NewScooters4Less when I accelerate slowly, it does not moves during initial acceleration, I have to raise it even more to make it move. What could be the problem?

I have tightened this adjustment screw so much that I can not go further. However, the engine still dies out when idle. Can you please give me some hints to solve the problem?
It could be a few things... It could be a bad carburetor, issues with the jets in the carb, or something like a vacuum leak. What kind of scooter is it? You might want to replace the carburetor all together. Some are cheap enough to where it makes sense to do that. Good luck!
@@e-wave8247 Email our service department a picture of your scooter at service@NS4L.com and they can email you the cost of a carburetor that would work. Ok, I adjusted my idle for my moped but it still stops. Am I suppose to let it warm up before I take off? Is it because the engine is cold? I'm still a bit lost
Yes. Please let it warm up. That will probably help a ton and help a ton more if you live in a colder climate. The scooters do have an automatic choke which helps, but it's still WAY better if you let it warm up. Thanks!
Hey man, I just bought a 2016 piaggio fly and it’s fuel injected, it has a starting problem where if you start ot and leave it it is fine, if u start it and turn it of straight away it will not start and u have to leave it for about 40 minutes to try start it again or else it will just run the battery out by trying to start it too much, I have checked the spark plug, checked if fuel was going through, charged the battery and the other day I pulled up at a red light and it cut out on me I tried to start it and wouldn’t start, tried this morning it started first time... I’m so confused In what it is. Sometimes if u leave it running a little u will hear a ticking noise in the variator case, may u have any ideas what the solution will be to fix the starting problem, thank you!
@@Bimahs I'm thinking it could be, but it's hard to say. I'm going off what you wrote in the text thread. It's not as easy as having the scooter here in front of me to properly diagnose. Thanks!
You have a different problem. Could be a vacuum leak / issue. Could be something internal with the carb. Could be an airflow problem. Could possibly be electrical too. Sorry! May need to have someone look at it :(
Please help, I'm not getting any gas to stay into the carburetor, in order to fuel the motor . have tried another carb as well. Does the same thing..., please reply..,
If you aren't getting fuel to the carburetor, then you may have an issue in the vacuum system or fuel pump. Make sure there are no cracks in your vacuum lines and then replace the fuel petcock that attaches the fuel tank to the fuel lines and filter. It could be faulty.
Does it have a carburetor? Can you make this adjustment made in the video? Also check for vacuum leaks (cracks in the vacuum lines, crack in the intake manifold, etc.)
Hi man. This happened to me after i moded the petcock from vacuum to manual shut off valve. It runs a few meteres om throttle then on deceleration it stops like gas gor cut off. Does the mod affect idle or air fuel mix?
If the vacuum line isn't there now, how is the system pulling fuel from your gas tank to the carburetor? I would bet YES... your modification affected it and I would change it back. Sorry!
Hi please I have tried adjusting like you sai but is not working for my kymco scooter is either I higher it if I try lowering anytime my hands let go off the gas then it automatically go off what could be the solution
You probably have a different issue. My guess would be a vacuum leak somewhere. Check your vacuum lines, intake manifold, and make sure that there are no cracks where air could be escaping. Thanks!
You can see fluctuations in idle due to temperatures for sure. Some scooters are worse than others (cheap models). The warmer the motor, usually the higher it's going to idle.
Hey! We do not, but is it shaking uncontrollably or just a little bit. Usually this is due to a bent steering column. Did you run into a curb somewhere? Does it turn side to side ok or is it sticky or tough to turn the steering column?
So we changed the idle but our issue is it’ll start on the stand but struggles on the ground. (Resistance on the wheel) we’re thinking maybe something with the clutch? It dies anytime there’s resistance on the rear wheel ie body weight, brakes
Yes. You could have a broken spring on the clutch or another similar issue. I would definitely pull the transmission casing off and look at that clutch and transmission.
@@NewScooters4Less After I sent this I pulled the cover off and found the issues. The ceramic pads for the clutch were all broken and pieces were everywhere. Ordered a new clutch and transmission assembly that I will be putting on later today!
@@NewScooters4Less Factory recommended idle for Ruckus is 2,000 rpm +/- 100. Turns out I was losing compression because the service tech didn't seat spark plug all the way 😒
What if I do this and it doesn’t work, when I higher the acceleration the wheels move to much and when I lower it just sounds like it’s going to die again, there’s no in between with mine, maybe battery ?
Mine idles high at a cold start and then after awhile slowly dies down until it turns off this is without touching the throttle but if I touch the throttle I can keep it does a misfire little bit and I'm thinking that's a spark plug issue but I'm not sure what's your guy's is your adVice
Depending on what kind of scooter it is, it probably has an electric choke attached to the carburetor and that is why it slows down after it has been running. Is it only doing the little 'misfire' after you first start it? May want to give the scoot a couple minutes to warm up. If it is misfiring while all the time, then you could have a spark plug issue, but it could be a few different things. I'm not sure where you live, but maybe just let the scooter warm up for a few minutes before going and see if that helps.

when the wheel spins on idle tho its not enough to move you but it does mean that the clutch is in contact with the bell and that means wear. what i do is I run the engine cold, and when the enricher stops, it drops in a very low rpm, that's when i adjust it low enough that it doesn't stall after the enricher turns off.

Glad we were able to relieve a little worry for you! :)
Nice.
Usually when it does that its because you might need some valves adjustment.
I’m trying this tomorrow.
Hope it works for you!
Check the air filter also to make sure it's getting enough airflow? Then re-adjust the idle?
Sometimes you can have an air leak, vacuum leak, etc. Definitely make sure your airflow is good too. Then, yes. If all is good. Tune the idle.

Sorry to hear that. Probably a fuel or air issue. I'd get it to a tech when you can.
Question does turning the idle screw up mess with the performance of it when u ride the bike or nah
It can to a degree. For example, if it is too high you are burning more fuel when just sitting at idle.

what about the opposite.

Vacuum leak possibly. Check for cracks in the vacuum line, intake manifold, intake manifold gaskets/spacers.

Unfortunately, I think you might need to get this one into a shop for a proper diagnosis :(
Solved my problem immediately. You're a legend!

When I turned this screw on mine, I know I used to be able to make it so my idle rpm was high enough to get my wheel turning, but lately with the screw turned up completely, my idle is only about 1200 rpm, which is nearly enough to keep the scooter running, but sometimes not quite.
hmmmmmm... you have the idle screw screwed all the way in?
Does EFI scooter have an idle screw like a carburetor? I have a Lance Cabo 200i that does out every once in a while.
It does not. We work primarily with 50cc scooters, so I am not sure if there are any adjustments that could be made to the cabo 200i. Sorry!
Thks four your video I have a Peugeot V-Clic 50cc 4T from 2012 is same carburetor when I start up the idle is keep up and down up again and down is any reason ??? Thank you very much Jersey uk ❤
Hard to say. Check your vacuum lines and air filter to ensure there are no cracks in the lines, etc.
I have the same scooter too!
What can cause this problem though as my scooter has been running perfectly up till this started.

Sorry. I would need to look at it in my shop. :/
Also what valve lashes should my scooter have? It’s a 50cc taotao scooter. I have it .004 IN and .005 EX. It’s super tappy and loud.
.003 and .005
I have an opposite case.
It could be pulling to much on the carb (giving it too much gas)
wow good info fir newbie like me🤗
Glad you got value out of it :)
Hi thank you for your video I have a Piaggio Zip 50 2T when I drive and give a full acceleration is luck like is cutting down you don’t now way please thank you
I'm not sure what you are asking me here. I'm sorry. Can you try to rephrase?
They said that if you're tweaking t
it to keep your scoot alive there's probably another issue!

If it's a 50cc, it should have an idle adjustment. If it's 2-stroke, it may look different, but it should still have one.
@@NewScooters4Less fuel jet screw that is located on the side of the carb is responsible for the idle also. you touched the air screw bolt

Could be a vacuum leak. Look for cracks in the vacuum hose or the intake manifold. I'd start there.

That’s a temporary fix not a permanent solution to the issue.
If you're idle is just low, this will fix the problem. Been doing this for 17 years. Sure, there could be deeper issues... vacuum leaks, etc. but sometimes this is all you need.
I just put a 70cc cylinder on my aerox yq50 and the idle is now too low due to the larger volume cylinder not being filled with enough petrol.

Have you opened the transmission casing and looked inside? Maybe a broken spring in there on the clutch or something. Should be able to pop off the case and take a look around.
Is it bad for the engine to run high idle for too long or all day
I would definitely adjust it, otherwise you are unnecessarily going to be burning more fuel.
So the same thing happened with my moped, but when i give almost full throttle it dies out. What should i do?
Is it bogging down at full throttle or is it cutting out every time you give it throttle? It could be several things, but I would start by checking the air filter, making sure its clean and that there are no cracks or anything in the air box. Check for any air leaks (cracks) in the intake manifold (the part between the head and the carburetor). You could have some gummed up old gas in your carburetor / blocked jet, too. Hey, I have the same problem with Yamaha Neos 2009 4 stroke engine, how to solve this?
Thanks!
I needed this thanks
Our pleasure! Thanks!
Is this problem related with any weather change?
You can see fluctuations in idle due to temperatures for sure. Some scooters are worse than others (cheap models). The warmer the motor, usually the higher it's going to idle.
Do you have a video to help with a 50cc moped front wheel/ steering shaking when reaching 30-35 mph?
Hey! We do not, but is it shaking uncontrollably or just a little bit. Usually this is due to a bent steering column. Did you run into a curb somewhere? Does it turn side to side ok or is it sticky or tough to turn the steering column?
thank very much its will help to check my cygnus it is died whem i stop
Awesome. Glad we could help.
@@Consi2536 Excellent! I am glad you discovered the issue!
How about if you don't want to adjust it to above 4000rpm idle just to keep running 🤔. How do you fix to keep 2000rpm when it wants to die out?
Maybe set at 3000 rpm? I think it's just finding a nice medium.
@@NewScooters4Less Factory recommended idle for Ruckus is 2,000 rpm +/- 100. Turns out I was losing compression because the service tech didn't seat spark plug all the way 😒
@@fisher5413 Ahhhh.. Gotcha. Glad you got it sorted out!
What if I do this and it doesn’t work, when I higher the acceleration the wheels move to much and when I lower it just sounds like it’s going to die again, there’s no in between with mine, maybe battery ?
Check for vacuum leaks. Could be a crack in your vacuum line, could be a crack in the intake manifold, etc. Thanks!
Thank you so much my G, I truly appreciate you
My pleasure my friend!
Question even after this fix mine won’t stay on when idling after a bit what else could I try?
Check for a vacuum leak. There could be a crack in a vacuum line, intake manifold, etc. I'd start there.
@@NewScooters4Less okay thank you
@@midnighte7393 my pleasure
