Edit: It has been pointed out to me that this workbook could be much neater if it was rebuilt using Excel's new LAMBDA function instead of iterative calc. I think that would be a great improvement - iterative calc spreadsheets are neat, but they're no fun to work with. If you make that workbook, let me know! / pugwonk

This is brilliant - takes me back to when I was plotting the Mandelbrot set on my Apple //e as a kid. I can quite comfortably say that after all these years my understanding of the equations behind this has not improved. 🙂

Excel will handle complex numbers with the function COMPLEX(), it used only come with the analysis tool pack but might now be permanently installed

I've tried 100 times, idk what I'm doing wrong. I'm most likely not setting the values correctly when I make a new setup? I click b2 hit f3 edit erase click b2 hit f4 3 times n save looks exactly like yours in the box, the formulas b2:u21 =if(reset,0,2*x*y+y0) I have them damn near memorized i just cant get it right. comes up all 0
