its an emotional song, you really don't need to justify getting upset hearing it. Im actually surprised I've seen someone not cry the first time they heard his mum speak at the end.
@ZeesWorldView at the end of the track, that's Dave's mother crying talking about her struggle. A line that is slept on in the track is when he says "poverty made me a beast", when you hear his marge crying like that it gives a glimpse of the hardship he was raised in and how he had to take any and every opportunity given to him. He was 22 when he wrote this album, while everyone else is rapping about cars, bitches and clothes. Dave is an old soul wise beyond his years and the older he gets, he only gets more educated and impressive. Best writer in the UK by far.
He’s unbelievable. After I went on my run reacting to him it’s been a bit of a break, he unfortunately doesn’t have a lot of music yet. But lately I’ve been obsessed with his music. It’s all I listen to in the car, and at the gym. I want to react to every feature and freestyle so I can listen to everything. I’m also trying to introduce him to my friends. They’re all American so they haven’t really heard much UK rap. He’s different, and I can’t wait for more music from him!
@@ZeesWorldView Love that you listen to him so much, and yes, keep introducing him to people, he is an absolute beast and deserve all the exposure he gets, especially in the USA. I'm from London and people over here, in my opinion, don't even give him the flowers he deserves.
Your reactions are always very thoughtful. I think you‘re just a really intelligent dude with a really nice mindset. The way you do your reactions, especially with the parts in the end where you get into more detail about your thoughts and the way you‘re not afraid to show emotions as well. Really inspires me to also start my RUclips journey. Been wanting to do it for many many years but never really did it. Maybe after watching you for a couple more months I‘ll give it a try. Blessings from germany Zee, you one of the best in this game for sure!
Loyal fan of yours and I’ve been eagerly awaiting your reaction to this but you uncharacteristically missed soo much. Like a lot (including one of the greatest doubles I’ve ever heard). I think it might be due to you focusing so much on the parental aspects of the song, and therefore missing other areas but you had the lyrics on screen so not sure. I’m happy you’re having a second listen to fully immerse yourself in the lyrics. Part of me hopes you record it so we might catch your reaction to the penny dropping on a few of the gems you missed. Anyway, I’m definitely still looking forward to the rest of your Dave journey.
I always gotta mention this when I see a Heart Attack reaction: The Blue Story Trilogy is insanely good and I think you‘d really enjoy Rapman‘s way of story telling. Also Blue Story the movie is really good and I recommend it but since I highly doubt that you‘re gonna react to it just do Rapman‘s Blue Story Trilogy please
There are many great bars in this track. For example "My old gs roamin i don't need to call or see him" Roamin sounds like roman and call or see him sounds like colloseum
When I heard this song the first time. I knew Dave's background/family/environment situation somewhat already. So in that context of hearing his mom back in that struggle from a memory standpoint. The dam broke wide open even as a grown ass man hearing it! I'm talking sniffling, tears, blood pressure was high as a kite...(Three Rivers already had me primed though. That's what I tell myself 🤣😎😮💨)
To be fair to the UK, they were not actually on the streets, they will have been in B&Bs until housing was sorted, they are bad but not on the streets. Great reaction fella, all respect and love from Leeds, UK.
i mean.. they were actually on the streets. he has said numerous times that they used to "live" at bus stops/riding buses all night just to stay warm. idk where this "to be fair to the UK" is coming from; the homelessness crisis in this country is f*cking horrible, especially in London - and the government does not give a flying one. Couple that with being first generation immigrants? Please don't downplay how disgusting this country treats 1). immigrants, and 2) homeless people. not dragging you, i just don't want americans reading your comment & thinking ohhh okay they wouldn't have actually been on the streets - because they were, and hundreds of thousands of people everyday are. love
All respect, we all know how bad things are currently and this would have been 20 years ago, a time when masses of Nigerian immigrants arrived into the UK, all of which had little, all of which needed housing, all of which removed housing from UK homeless people and all of which limited accommodation available. It is not as simple as you talk, my guessing which we all are is B&B was provided most of the time and at times was on the streets which is not right. Dave's mother worked hard for the NHS who employed her, gave her a chance and sacrificed her dreams for Dave. We are singing from the same sheet, but I remember the 1990s and 2000s and the amount of immigration would put a strain on any nation, it wasnt a choice to punish people, it was limited options for a huge amount of people, in London or the North which received less and still does @@kp7920
The reaction we have all Been waiting for
not the best song on the album
Survivals guilt is mine
My OG's roamin', I don't need a colosseum. Thats one of the craziest bars!
Literally one of the best doubles I’ve ever heard , my OG’s roaming (Roman) I don’t need to call to see them (colosseum)
So sad he didn't catch it
Maybe obvious but I just got another level to it. My OG’s Roman is like he’s such an OG that he’s basically ancient.
@@duffdog72 people from Rome can be young lmao

‘Fuck jazz you can really see a major 9’ 9 referring to a gun but major 9 is also a chord frequently used in jazz
‘My og is roman (roaming) and i dont need a colosseum (dont need to call to see him)’
yeah this one is crazy, then a few bars later says "Sistine chapel imma paint the ceiling". Sistine chapel is in Rome
Always makes me think of the Niro movie Ronin, a masterless samurai as well
Hey man found your channel today and been loving your Dave reactions, keep up the good work, love from the UK 🇬🇧

One of THE best songs of all time
This song is probably if not the best on the album but let's not forget about the last track, Survivor's Guilt.
Survivors guilt is the best I think
Insanely good track!
Epic song by dave 👌🏽
My OGs Roman (roamin’) I dont need to Coliseum (call to see’em)…. 🔥🔥🔥
Yes. That is Dave’s mum
Gen up my new favourite reactor u actually add a whole other part to the songs
Dave is incredible
My OG’s roamin (roman) I don’t need to call em to see em (colosseum)
The ophelia bar is prolly my favourite bar all time. Hamlet reference is ridiculous
'My OGs roman (roaming) I dont need a colusseum (call to see 'em)' - Unreal
Dave gods eye, rule of two (original version) and little bo peep are all underrated and need checking out
