Hey. It's happened to me. I was trying out a Schecter that I was thinking was cool and a kid that was likely half my age, (I'm nearly 40,) said that it his first guitar. I handed it to him and as I expected - he started chugging on it. I found out later that he WASN'T just passing by, but worked for Guitar Center. I find it funny though how you KNOW they've heard you playing, but convenient start to say things like, "for a first guitar," or "first you start with the scales," like they didn't hear an experienced player because he WASN'T shredding or playing metal riffs.

@@Rex-dk1rx this definitely isn't true. If you have bad habits that you think are rad (like leaving no negative space, ignoring the underlying harmony and rhythm, disregarding phrasing, etc), practicing is more likely to embed those habits than improve your playing.

I feel more fulfilled having gotten this off my chest and shared so that full clarity is understood, without a doubt, that this is not a good representation of either players actual ability.
