Hi, I've seen comments about battery drain while gaming even though the Charger is plugged in. Have you been able to test this. It seems to suggest that while intensive use the included charger cant keep up with the power demand. Thanks
The legion is supposed to have a variant with a 100% dci p3 monitor which is the only one id consider as a photographer and videographer. The main perk with that model is that you can upgrade the ram to 64gb which would be nice if you're doing anything like running a local llm or doing some heavier photo editing
I'm contemplating between the Legion 5i, ProArt P16 or the Macbook Pro M4 (24GB 14inch). I love that the Legion can be upgraded (ram and ssd) but the display seems sub par. The ProArt has a beautiful screen and has an extra slot for additional storage but its quite expensive. The Macbook has no means of upgrading after purchase and I'm not sure if 24GB ram will be sufficient. What are your thoughts? For photo and video editing, which would be the better option? I'm working with a budget of 1,500 - 2,000.
@DarrinSmithGuyana proart seems expensive for what you get. I don't personally need a full 4k monitor and 60hz is a bit of a let down. I would be much happier with a 3.2k 165hz display. Being said, I think I've decided on the legion 7i with the 3.2k 100% dci display which in the US seems to come with the i9 and 4060. You can upgrade ram and a second SSD, you get a really powerful processor, and it's still about as thin and light as the yoga pro 9i. Plus you can get it in white which I like. MacBook isn't for me as I need windows for niche software I use for work and I want to game. I think the 100% dci-p3 model of the legion 7i will be great for the money if you can get it under its current list price of $1600.
Trust me, the Yoga Pro 9i does not last 8 hours unless it is the IPS touch display with RTX 4050 6GB VRAM. The Yoga Pro 9i Mini-led touch display with the RTX 4060 8GB VRAM barely lasts 5 hours.
You lost me at Intel...As I type this on my AMAZING Lenovo Legion Slim 7i that I love so much my CPU temps are BAKING between 80-100C AFTER a COMPLETE cleaning and re-paste and pad. Used Noctua NT-H2 and 7950 pads thinking there was a clog and the bad OEM paste was the issue...but alas its not. I will be avoiding Intel for a while as my $2000+ laptop will be a paper weight soon... Sucks not only for the money I spent, but I do truly love this form factor. I just wish I could go back and limp my dying previous laptop a little longer and get the AMD version....

I would go for the yoga. I hope some day when speccing the laptop they let you choose numpad / trackpad centered versions
do you have personal experience with helios and aourus laptops? i want to know how they perform and how long they last?
the Lenovo website says the yoga pro 9i mini-led display is 1200 nits and you said 400... A typo?

Shouldn’t the RTX 40s be 8GB VRAM? Video edit says 6GB at the beginning
probably a mistake. i got yoga and its 8gb vram for the 4060
The 4050 is 6gb the 4060/70 is 8gb.
