This video takes a compelling look at Hades in Greek mythology. It explores the underworld with exquisite detail and fascinating storytelling, revealing the dead. Its insightful and engaging storytelling will captivate anybody interested in ancient Greek culture and mythology.
Since time immemorial, man has desperately needed to endure the oppression of losses, deal with traumas and reconcile with himself after emotional and psychological crises. Using drugs, participating in mysterious and frightening ceremonies, consulting oracles, and penetrating deep unknown caves are all ways to shake up anyone's perception to create a rite of passage. Before experiences like these people know themselves in one way, after them people know a new aspect of themselves and can reflect on the profound transition they have gone through. Roman religion was not based on valuing personal mystical experiences, but on synchronizing people with political, social and military purposes. This explains why Rome banned Greek religious practices that could discredit Roman beliefs.

Why does the narrator sound like James from Team Rocket??
I don’t understand these documentaries. Are they old and public domain? Who is this guy? Why isn’t he introduced? It’s clearly from the 90s or early 00s.
One of the BEST (and most thorough) documentaries I've ever seen .... incredible
You’re living a sheltered life my friend
That was harrowing! I found that I was holding my breath as your journey through Hades proceeded. Truly amazing. Thank you for sharing.
How the FIRK did he not freak out in that cramped ass cave?! Director of the year award right there folks!

I definitely got a Monty Python vibe a few times- the owl, the unheated oven, the hare. Anyone else?
That was amazing.
How do I get involved in this sort of archeology?

Nope. It is a mythologized idea that is part of many myths separated by thousands of years and thousands of miles. Book coming soon.

If Hades had stood up for himself and declared that he had first choice, would we possibly call the land of the dead Zeus?
