My family migrated to the US legally 30 years ago. Took my dad 10 yrs to get his papers approved to come. No public assistance or healthcare for 5 years after we arrived. My dad died 8 years later for undiagnosed cancer. He worked hard every day because we believed things doesn't come free.

The city cuts expenses in vulnerable places to get billions for Asylum Seekers
The cost of housing migrants in NYC is so extraordinary - "We are past the breaking point" - NYC projects $12 billion migrant bill.
Detailed single bill: $383 per night, including food, housing, and medical care (all for free for migrants), said Mayor Adams on August, 9th.
($11,5k a month - would you like to make $11,5k a month?)
To manage those expenses, Adams says the city plans to trim services such as library hours, meals for senior citizens, re-entry programming for Rikers Island prisoners, and free, full-day care for three-year-olds.
Now NYC is considering housing migrants in tents in CENTRAL PARK - as 500 flood into the city daily.
The plan also considers 3,000 locations in New York, including tourist public green spaces, as places to erect emergency housing for the migrants.
Deputy Mayor Anne Williams-Isom said 'Everything is on the table'.

Someone is being compensated for allowing these asylum seekers here in N.Y. I understand that most of them are seeking a better life due to the social conditions in their country, but we already have a large problem with the homelessness and veterans who desperately need shelter. Why continue allowing them here, when we clearly have no place for them? Let Mayor Adams invite them to live inside the Gracie Mansion until they get on their feet. 5 Bedrooms including staff to accommodate and entertain them.
After 3 year moratorium no way office building owners will allow tenants to squat in their buildings. Mayor will have to expropriate private property.
