MatthiasFarms , they have automatics out there but yours is safer because it is gravity. Not sure if any on market like yours. Just need wider dish at bottom because cat whiskers hurt if rubbing on bowl

How does the feed gets spread on horizontal feed bit evenly

The gravity spreads it out, along with the chickens eating, and sometimes it not all the way spread out, and thats ok, because this design is made to keep the feed in the feeder not on the ground, that's another reason it is up off the ground as high as it is.
