  • Connor and I took an impromptu trip to Lithuania last weekend -- we went to Palanga, an adorable beach town. We went to surprise my brother, Brian, who was playing a show with his band, Mississippi Heat. He had NO IDEA we would be coming...watch the video to see how we shocked him and what else we got into in Lithuania.

Oh man the food was SO great! Kepta duona (fried slices of rye bread, often served with cheese sauce) has become one of my all-time favorite snacks. I hope you can make it to Lithuania before long!

Hey. Im from Lithuania. For me food taste normal to me. But if u try ur food for first time thats do to expensive. The foods from Lithuanai Called : Šaltibarščiai, Cepelinai,Spūrgos. And these foods are amazing. Vilnius and Palanga is the best. You need to try. And try some snacks to.

Oh it's easy to make at home, it's our way to use up left over slices of bread. All it takes is bread, salt, 1-2 section of a garlic and oil.
Slice loaf of bread (it can be an oldie, that's ok) - we usually bake standard slices, not french type like it is served in cafes. Preferably a whole grain or, as ours, rye bread bread as it soaks less oil. Bake it on a pan until crusty on both sides (~2 min). Take one section of a garlic and cut in half. Rub freshly baked brad with said garlic on both sides. Pour a little bit of salt. DONE!

Great to hear that you liked Lithuania. Just the dancing part, as i heard, the music was old Russian music, not a very Lithuanian thing, just a part of Russian culture left from the old times lets say. Not to say that the music was bad, but next time consider coming to the capital to see some real Lithuanian night life ;)
