@Ann-qr2pv it is! Sometimes we infuse it with citrus rinds for a few weeks. We mostly use that, baking soda, and Castile soap. Still haven't found a good laundry detergent recipe, but we have one for dish soap. Look into what's in hygiene products, too. Gave up conventional years ago. Liquid Dr. Bronner's for shampoo followed by an ACV rinse and baking soda for deodorant!
@@papabear5506 What I found using my own homemade laundry soap for years was it kind of sort of gums up the washer. Then I have to run the washing machine empty and use citric acid to clean the washer so it doesn't put this white stuff all over our clothes. I have washed my hair with castile soap too, but it is drying for my hair. White vinegar is great cleaner also instead of using disinfectant cleaner. The thing that really great about the vinegar is it doesn't mess with my skin and of course you can still breath. I tried the baking soda for deodorant but found olive oil works better for my skin issues.
@@suzyclear7668 We also hope to get a travel trailer so when we travel we can stay safely without needing a hotel. Right now, we actually will drive almost 8 hours for a trip…stay the day and drive back immediately when we are done. Because the hotels are so toxic we all get sick, even the “ cleanest” and more hypoallergenic ones smell awful too!
I have always been a person who believes in using bleach to keep floors clean and toilets. I have OCD and to me there seemed no other way to get your house clean. a few weeks ago i started getting problems with my lungs and it hurts everytime i breathe in. I had to go to the hospital. And i got medication to fix it but now everytime i use bleach or any floor cleaner with a scent my lungs get those pains again. Also i never really heard of the importance of avoiding certain chemicals. This was proabbly the only video. Which is kind of upsetting. I have decided to get rid of all these chemicals in my house and just use vinegar and baking soda until i find more alternatives. Thanks so much for this video!
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) uses vary widely due to its potent antimicrobial properties and gentle nature. Unlike bleach, which can be harsh and irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, HOCl is gentle and non-toxic, making it safer for many applications. They have machines to make this. It's just distilled water vinegar and Celtic salt. And then the machine does something to change it to hypochlorous acid. Store it in an Amber bottle and it should last you 4 weeks to 8 weeks. I have some right now that has been made since the end of January and still works just fine.

People need to underrstand that most commercial fragrances are a blend of petroleum products. There are few if any "natural" fragrances commercially available. Except essential oils from a trusted source, or flowers from the garden.

Yess get that truth out there!! I only use vinegar...peroxide... castile soap..amd baking soda to clean my whole house. I also use vinegar in a spray bottle as a hand sanitizer in my truck☺️
I use vinegar AS A FABRIC softener. I put about half a cup in the last rinse cycle. Works like a charm. Vinegar also clears any soap residue left in your clothes at this stage.
A family member had COPD and could NOT walk down the laundry/bleach isle! They could not breathe if they did. Also had a friend start a house cleaning service. She started getting sick. It was the cleaning products that was making her sick. She went to using natural products and her problems went away!!!
It truly is amazing how a lot of the younger ladies and anyone actually that use air fresheners in their homes and cars that are so toxic and of course the HIGHLY SCENTED LAUNDRY PRODUCTS. I buy my clothes at thrift stores and a lot of the ladies clothes are smelling like laundry soaps ( very scented ) and even after many washes they still smell scented. Not good!! 👍👍☮️☮️
I wash those in baking soda, and do not put them in the dryer. I put them outside on the cloths line. I have had to wash an item five times, that a friend gave me and had it outside on the cloths line for days before it was scent free.

This is an AWESOME psa. I've been living this way for over 15 years. I also do not use deodorant, soap only on the palms of my hands, certain shampoo every 3-4 weeks, glass dishes, cast iron pans (no teflon or forever chemicals), no microwave (makes food toxic), no perfume, no antibacterial, and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. I use a steam cleaner on my floors.

My aunt died from a chemical reaction from cleaning. She was using a toilet cleaner with bleach while her daughter was using a window cleaner with ammonia to clean the mirror. She started feeling odd. Walked out of her bathroom, and colapsed dead on her bed. Cleaners can be deadly.

I make cleaner by putting lemon and orange peels in a glass jar with distilled vinegar for a few weeks. I also add some cloves and a cinnamon stick. I put it in my spray mop that has washable pads and add a little water to it. No harmful chemicals. I am planning to make my own laundry detergent soon too. I bought some natural dryer sheets and the wool dryer balls. I use unscented baby mild liquid castile soap as well.

I made my home as toxin/chemical free as possible for years. But these past few years I’ve been stuck living at in-laws’ home and they use a ton of toxic cleaners throughout the house, and chemicals in the lawn. I have my two young children here and praying our family can afford our own home soon 🙏🏻

My mom and my grandmother have always used vinegar, baking soda or hot soapy water to clean almost everything. I am glad they taught me to do so. They have always been against all these chemical products that are so harmful to us. The only time I used Pinesol to wash the floor I had such a bad headache after. Never used it again! Thanks for this presentation. Over years of working with some major perfume wearers and later being around some pretty strong cleaners due to my work conditions, I got more and more sensitive and ill from these things. I try to keep my home as free from these things as possible. I have noticed that if one of my neighbors is drying clothes with much fragrance, I need to retreat to my inside of the house or end up ill.

I use hot water and vinegar to wash clothes and they smell great! Vinegar softens them and they smell really good. When you eliminate fragrances your sense of smell becomes so acute! Cotton smells wonderful!
there's no need to use more than baking soda, vinegar, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide--just basic stuff. i ditched all the chemicals years ago bc the fumes were just overwhelming. I wish ppl would dryer balls instead of fabric softener--that stuff is so overpowering it seeps into the foods at the bargain stores. just gross
I know the feeling. I will only buy certain things at local Amish stores. The whole place, no matter which one I go to, reeks of various spices...which permeates just about everything else in the store. Noodles, bread, etc.
I live in Germany, I clean my place with products from Easy Clean, I only use 3 liquits, one paste and mainly only water with special microfiber fabric, those cost a lot, but each lasts 30 years. So it is worth it. My Liv became a lot easier and a lot less clutter I the cleaning closet.

Is it a rental? There might be pet urine……it ruins laminate flooring, you can’t wash it out from underneath, the floor or carpet/ pad must be fully removed…..the subfloor may have to be replaced as well. Certain breeds of dogs (pit bulls) excrete oils from their skin and coat the walls, you must wash your walls with 3/4 c vinegar, 1/4 cup dawn dish soap to a gallon, gallon and a 1/2 of water, to test your wall just rub with finger and you will feel an oily residue……my go to cleaner is for everything is vinegar and water, tiny bit of dawn or the best is Myers soap

Quaternary ammonium compounds are my kryptonite. My employer changed to cleaning with quats in 2018 and I became allergic to my dog I had for over 5 years without problems. I also wasted away until I quit.

Not shopping in a major chain grocery store helps. I shop at natural grocery stores. I buy natural products or make a homemade. I stay away from all the products you showed. I don't eat what you find in that store either.
There's a popular youtuber who does videos about ways to clean your home and she uses all kinds of products that have scents. Someone tried to warn her about protecting her lungs and those of her children, but she completely ignored this person and now seems to make an even bigger deal of breathing these things in. She doesn't use much of anything that's natural. It's so strange, I know this behavior will affect her and her children eventually
Great video with lots of interesting information, thank you! People usually forget to mention the CUMULATIVE effect of toxic chemicals, which makes everything more complicated. If you use harsh cleaning products, AND if you wear traditional makeup, AND wear mostly clothes with PFAS right against your skin such as leggings and you sweat in them, AND if you also cook mostly in non stick pans, AND if you use a yoga mat that picks up PFAS from your carpet, AND if you drink tap water that contains PFAS, well… even if it’s a small amount of toxic chemicals for each product it can add up to dangerous levels that can trigger serious health issues. Another concern is the COCKTAIL effect, when many different toxic chemicals create strange sets of symptoms and illnesses when they accumulate in a person’s body. This is very difficult to study because every person reacts differently and scientists don’t know how this mix of chemicals is truly affecting our body. Since there are endless possibilities regarding the type of chemicals, their toxicity level, their concentration and the way they interact with other chemicals in our blood, organs etc… there really is no way to study the effects all these toxic chemicals have on our body. The future doesn’t look good though, as we use more and more plastics including silicone cooking molds and a million other products that are supposed to make our life easier. People don’t realize that they are ingesting very unhealthy particles and feeding them to their kids too 😢 If we could just wake up and go back to simpler products made of healthier materials like linen for our clothes, and cast iron or glass for our cooking molds, now that would be a good start. When people want to exercise they go play soccer or softball on an athletic field covered with Astroturf filled with crumb rubber, which is made of tiny pieces of old car tires 🤮 Nobody seems concerned about the heavy metals and other toxic chemicals found in this recycled rubber, it’s really puzzling. Then they take their kids to a playground that has a soft ground cover made of rubber pellets glued together aka PIP (“Pour In Place” rubber flooring) which is also from old car tires. Nobody seems worried about their kids crawling all over this type of flooring with bare hands then eating a snack without washing or even wiping their hands to avoid ingesting too much rubber dust, no problem! Only a few counties in the US have banned these rubber pellets but most towns are now installing a PIP rubber flooring in their kids playgrounds and Astroturf on their athletic fields. No wonder kids who play several times a week on those fields have such a high rate of leukemia or other cancers, especially the goalies who are in contact with the toxic rubber pellets… Our homes are filled with toxic stuff, and people have no problem putting pieces of furniture like IKEA in their kids room, not realizing that the glue in these particle boards releases toxic airborne formaldehyde particles that are very unhealthy, especially for youngsters. Even smart people are still heating up their food in a microwave in a plastic container or worse in a cardboard box from the restaurant, not realizing that there are PFAS in the lining of the box. I have a friend who’s all about clean living, healthy lifestyle etc… but she has no problem putting her kids’ plastic lunch boxes in the dishwasher everyday, it’s disheartening…She doesn’t want to hear the fact that BPAs and other toxic chemicals get released because of the heat in there 🙄 I have another friend who’s an environmentalist but she mostly wears synthetic fabrics and doesn’t care about the tiny pieces of nylon or polyester that her clothes shed during each wash in her machine. Where does she think all these microplastics end up if not in the ocean? It’s really sad because we now have access to lots of information about this stuff online but most people don’t want to change their bad, lazy habits. I’m afraid the force of inertia is far too great, and people love their stretchy clothes, silicone cooking molds, cheap furniture and stain resistant sofas way too much to give them up. How can we remain hopeful when even smart people don’t want to hear the truth about toxic chemicals in their clothes, homes, playgrounds etc…?

A note on chamomile. It's in Branch brand. I do am very allergic to ragweed. Chamomile is in th ragweed family, at least Paul Harvey said so many years ago. Truth: I haven't checked to see if he was right. But just in case he was, and just in case a listener is very allergic to it too. There it is. Do check it out yourself.
One question, the only reason I keep bleach or pine sol is if the toilet backs up, overflows on the floor or someone vomits... I know! But what do you recommend for these situations where the gross factor is huge?! Dish soap and water only? Branch sounds interesting, but I have to be budget conscious.

Buy a large box of bicarbonate of soda, this works well with vinegar for unblocking sink, getting tiles clean, ovens, etc. Look up LITTLE DIY on RUclips, she does short, easy to follow videos of natural alternatives. Seems to me that the cleaning products aisle at all grocery stores is getting way to whiffy these days. Overpowering scents added to all the products is not necessary. Fresh laundry has its own natural scent that is subtle and not offensive.
Sometimes whenever I'm around certain people (who either don't know or don't care) that have so many different fragrances on that I can't breathe. It's on their clothes, and/or the perfume they wear, and Hairspray. I can only hold my breath so long. These fragrances give me migraines. Therefore, I have to try to avoid some people. Smokers are the worst (at least the few women, I know) when it comes to wearing a lot of perfume. I have been sensitive the fragrances for a very long time. Also, I can't use most hand lotions or creams. same reason. I have very sensitive skin. The lotions and creams give me a rash. Some people just don't understand. I have been washing our laundry with either a very mild dish soap (like ivory from a long time ago, which I can no longer use) and now use an unscented laundry soap. I used to make my own laundry soap. I always use white vinegar in place of the fabric softener. Thank you for putting this video out. I stopped using perfume in my 20s because it gave me a headache. I'm interested in what you use for shampoo. And my son told me that baking soda breaks down the structure of the hair because of it PH? (I think.) Have you found that to be the case?

No, I don't think the PH was a problem. We have really slimy water. I don't know how to explain it, but the water here to me feels slimy. I guess it has a lot of minerals or something in it. I have looked for the Prell in the store and whenever I find it I'll buy as much as is on the shelf to sort of stock up for when it's no longer available. I hope that helps. In 1979, when I went to live with my grandmother after grandpa passed away is when I discovered, I could no longer use lotions from the store. I'd either get a rash or streaks running up and neck. So, I'd wash it off. Then a couple years later, I couldn't use perfumes. by the way, I didn't put the perfume on my skin, I'd put it on my hairbrush and then by brushing my hair in front of the wall furnace while it dried. I'm also allergic to roses and marigolds. Roses give me a migraine and marigolds give me a rash. So, when the neighborhood roses are in bloom it makes it hard for me to go outdoors.

Buy only items especially cosmetics and personal care items that do not test on animals. You might want to stop using milk also, read how cows are treated. Vinegar and water are great cleaners.
Get your milk, eggs, meat, fruits, veggies, honey, etc from trusted local farmers. Lots of places online to look for them. Farmers markets and butcher shops are good starting points too. And look into what they use instead of animals to test products. Just another example of self-righteous people valuing animal lives over human ones.

doTERRA is a wonder trusted brand. You don't want ingredients that say 'fragrance' because it's a lab created fragrance that is full of 2000 undisclosed chemicals that are dangerous to health and DNA.
I think you are pretty much stuck with those, but you could applique a patch over the stain, or do some embroidery over it. Turmeric and beet are the absolute worst to get out, so covering may be your only option. I wear old clothes when I'm working with turmeric. Hope this helps.

Make your own. It's quick, super cheap, and you have control over what goes in it 😊 lots and LOTS of tutorials out there for everything imaginable. Remember, before we had all these things you find in stores we did without.
Just a minute ago I soaked a white towel which will be used for a soon to be born baby girl. I added vanish white powedr and standard soap persil and some vinegar. When I rinse it out I will soak it again in warm water and just vinegar. Vinegar softens it and hopefully the towel will come out white.
@razamughal4582 I'm no expert on blueing, but I hear good things about it's whitening abilities. Maybe also try fluffing it up with some wool dryer balls or 5-6 balled up pairs of dry socks for softeness?
I loved the idea of wool dryer balls until I found out I'm allergic to them. Ugh ... Defeated the whole purpose. I can only use wool if it doesn't directly contact my skin. So I'm back to deyer sheets. Can't afford the natural one's probably. I don't make $80,000+ of $ like most people per year.
Oh you don't need dryer sheets, all they are doing is coating your clothes in poison. You will get used to and love your clothes smelling and feeling clean.
For your hard customers / ant's that don't take no for an answer, Simple Green. good stuff. no insects want to walk or hang around where Simple green is been sprayed, I don't recall ever seeing any dead ant's, but this I do know, they wont return. and I use the none toxic Fruit and Vegetable garden spray all around the base of the house. a couple times a summer.

I tried the baking soda for deodorant but found olive oil works better for my skin issues.
I can’t use baking soda for deodorant, it causes a rash on me. I use plain old generic milk of magnesia. It works great!
Got rid of everything toxic in my house over a decade ago. Now I can’t stand stores, etc….everything stinks!

Right now, we actually will drive almost 8 hours for a trip…stay the day and drive back immediately when we are done. Because the hotels are so toxic we all get sick, even the “ cleanest” and more hypoallergenic ones smell awful too!

I have always been a person who believes in using bleach to keep floors clean and toilets. I have OCD and to me there seemed no other way to get your house clean. a few weeks ago i started getting problems with my lungs and it hurts everytime i breathe in. I had to go to the hospital. And i got medication to fix it but now everytime i use bleach or any floor cleaner with a scent my lungs get those pains again. Also i never really heard of the importance of avoiding certain chemicals. This was proabbly the only video. Which is kind of upsetting. I have decided to get rid of all these chemicals in my house and just use vinegar and baking soda until i find more alternatives. Thanks so much for this video!

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) uses vary widely due to its potent antimicrobial properties and gentle nature. Unlike bleach, which can be harsh and irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, HOCl is gentle and non-toxic, making it safer for many applications.
They have machines to make this. It's just distilled water vinegar and Celtic salt. And then the machine does something to change it to hypochlorous acid. Store it in an Amber bottle and it should last you 4 weeks to 8 weeks. I have some right now that has been made since the end of January and still works just fine.
I'm the🤔 same way. I don't know what else to do. I lost my sense of smell and that might be why.

I try to tell prople how harmful those plug in room scents are. The response? "But they smell good!". Sigh...
People need to underrstand that most commercial fragrances are a blend of petroleum products. There are few if any "natural" fragrances commercially available. Except essential oils from a trusted source, or flowers from the garden.

I use vinegar AS A FABRIC softener. I put about half a cup in the last rinse cycle. Works like a charm. Vinegar also clears any soap residue left in your clothes at this stage.

Actually good old fashioned soap, that was used back in the 50s made your clothes soft feeling, no purfums. My mom didn't use detergent.
It truly is amazing how a lot of the younger ladies and anyone actually that use air fresheners in their homes and cars that are so toxic and of course the HIGHLY SCENTED LAUNDRY PRODUCTS. I buy my clothes at thrift stores and a lot of the ladies clothes are smelling like laundry soaps ( very scented ) and even after many washes they still smell scented. Not good!! 👍👍☮️☮️

I wash those in baking soda, and do not put them in the dryer. I put them outside on the cloths line. I have had to wash an item five times, that a friend gave me and had it outside on the cloths line for days before it was scent free.

This is an AWESOME psa. I've been living this way for over 15 years. I also do not use deodorant, soap only on the palms of my hands, certain shampoo every 3-4 weeks, glass dishes, cast iron pans (no teflon or forever chemicals), no microwave (makes food toxic), no perfume, no antibacterial, and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. I use a steam cleaner on my floors.

My aunt died from a chemical reaction from cleaning. She was using a toilet cleaner with bleach while her daughter was using a window cleaner with ammonia to clean the mirror. She started feeling odd. Walked out of her bathroom, and colapsed dead on her bed. Cleaners can be deadly.

I make cleaner by putting lemon and orange peels in a glass jar with distilled vinegar for a few weeks. I also add some cloves and a cinnamon stick. I put it in my spray mop that has washable pads and add a little water to it. No harmful chemicals. I am planning to make my own laundry detergent soon too. I bought some natural dryer sheets and the wool dryer balls. I use unscented baby mild liquid castile soap as well.
A coworker says she uses very hot water and bay leaves to clean her tiles and it makes them shiny.

this is true. Jesus showed me all kinds of things i had in my house to change and its amazing how much better i feel now without them. the skin care products i make mostly myself now.
I made my home as toxin/chemical free as possible for years. But these past few years I’ve been stuck living at in-laws’ home and they use a ton of toxic cleaners throughout the house, and chemicals in the lawn. I have my two young children here and praying our family can afford our own home soon 🙏🏻

My mom and my grandmother have always used vinegar, baking soda or hot soapy water to clean almost everything. I am glad they taught me to do so. They have always been against all these chemical products that are so harmful to us. The only time I used Pinesol to wash the floor I had such a bad headache after. Never used it again! Thanks for this presentation. Over years of working with some major perfume wearers and later being around some pretty strong cleaners due to my work conditions, I got more and more sensitive and ill from these things. I try to keep my home as free from these things as possible. I have noticed that if one of my neighbors is drying clothes with much fragrance, I need to retreat to my inside of the house or end up ill.

I use hot water and vinegar to wash clothes and they smell great! Vinegar softens them and they smell really good. When you eliminate fragrances your sense of smell becomes so acute! Cotton smells wonderful!

I know the feeling. I will only buy certain things at local Amish stores. The whole place, no matter which one I go to, reeks of various spices...which permeates just about everything else in the store. Noodles, bread, etc.
I live in Germany, I clean my place with products from Easy Clean, I only use 3 liquits, one paste and mainly only water with special microfiber fabric, those cost a lot, but each lasts 30 years. So it is worth it. My Liv became a lot easier and a lot less clutter I the cleaning closet.
The biggest problem is that many companies do not disclose all the ingredients that are in the cleaning product..

Is it a rental? There might be pet urine……it ruins laminate flooring, you can’t wash it out from underneath, the floor or carpet/ pad must be fully removed…..the subfloor may have to be replaced as well. Certain breeds of dogs (pit bulls) excrete oils from their skin and coat the walls, you must wash your walls with 3/4 c vinegar, 1/4 cup dawn dish soap to a gallon, gallon and a 1/2 of water, to test your wall just rub with finger and you will feel an oily residue……my go to cleaner is for everything is vinegar and water, tiny bit of dawn or the best is Myers soap

There is formaldehyde and benzene in memory foam mattresses including furniture. Also in carpet and rugs. Makes me SICK!
Fun fact, the humble spider plant is the best for removing formaldehyde which off gasses from carpets and upholstery.

Yes the chemicals and the pesticides in our clothes get absorbed by the skin.
Quaternary ammonium compounds are my kryptonite. My employer changed to cleaning with quats in 2018 and I became allergic to my dog I had for over 5 years without problems. I also wasted away until I quit.
I only use vinegar and dish soap for cleaning, very hot water will do a very good job to, for fresh air open your windows even in winter a room is refreshed in 15 minutes.🙋🏼♀️🌷🇱🇺

Not shopping in a major chain grocery store helps. I shop at natural grocery stores. I buy natural products or make a homemade. I stay away from all the products you showed. I don't eat what you find in that store either.
There's a popular youtuber who does videos about ways to clean your home and she uses all kinds of products that have scents. Someone tried to warn her about protecting her lungs and those of her children, but she completely ignored this person and now seems to make an even bigger deal of breathing these things in. She doesn't use much of anything that's natural. It's so strange, I know this behavior will affect her and her children eventually

People usually forget to mention the CUMULATIVE effect of toxic chemicals, which makes everything more complicated. If you use harsh cleaning products, AND if you wear traditional makeup, AND wear mostly clothes with PFAS right against your skin such as leggings and you sweat in them, AND if you also cook mostly in non stick pans, AND if you use a yoga mat that picks up PFAS from your carpet, AND if you drink tap water that contains PFAS, well… even if it’s a small amount of toxic chemicals for each product it can add up to dangerous levels that can trigger serious health issues.
Another concern is the COCKTAIL effect, when many different toxic chemicals create strange sets of symptoms and illnesses when they accumulate in a person’s body.
This is very difficult to study because every person reacts differently and scientists don’t know how this mix of chemicals is truly affecting our body. Since there are endless possibilities regarding the type of chemicals, their toxicity level, their concentration and the way they interact with other chemicals in our blood, organs etc… there really is no way to study the effects all these toxic chemicals have on our body.
The future doesn’t look good though, as we use more and more plastics including silicone cooking molds and a million other products that are supposed to make our life easier.
People don’t realize that they are ingesting very unhealthy particles and feeding them to their kids too 😢
If we could just wake up and go back to simpler products made of healthier materials like linen for our clothes, and cast iron or glass for our cooking molds, now that would be a good start.
When people want to exercise they go play soccer or softball on an athletic field covered with Astroturf filled with crumb rubber, which is made of tiny pieces of old car tires 🤮
Nobody seems concerned about the heavy metals and other toxic chemicals found in this recycled rubber, it’s really puzzling.
Then they take their kids to a playground that has a soft ground cover made of rubber pellets glued together aka PIP (“Pour In Place” rubber flooring) which is also from old car tires. Nobody seems worried about their kids crawling all over this type of flooring with bare hands then eating a snack without washing or even wiping their hands to avoid ingesting too much rubber dust, no problem!
Only a few counties in the US have banned these rubber pellets but most towns are now installing a PIP rubber flooring in their kids playgrounds and Astroturf on their athletic fields.
No wonder kids who play several times a week on those fields have such a high rate of leukemia or other cancers, especially the goalies who are in contact with the toxic rubber pellets…
Our homes are filled with toxic stuff, and people have no problem putting pieces of furniture like IKEA in their kids room, not realizing that the glue in these particle boards releases toxic airborne formaldehyde particles that are very unhealthy, especially for youngsters.
Even smart people are still heating up their food in a microwave in a plastic container or worse in a cardboard box from the restaurant, not realizing that there are PFAS in the lining of the box.
I have a friend who’s all about clean living, healthy lifestyle etc… but she has no problem putting her kids’ plastic lunch boxes in the dishwasher everyday, it’s disheartening…She doesn’t want to hear the fact that BPAs and other toxic chemicals get released because of the heat in there 🙄
I have another friend who’s an environmentalist but she mostly wears synthetic fabrics and doesn’t care about the tiny pieces of nylon or polyester that her clothes shed during each wash in her machine. Where does she think all these microplastics end up if not in the ocean?
It’s really sad because we now have access to lots of information about this stuff online but most people don’t want to change their bad, lazy habits.
I’m afraid the force of inertia is far too great, and people love their stretchy clothes, silicone cooking molds, cheap furniture and stain resistant sofas way too much to give them up.
How can we remain hopeful when even smart people don’t want to hear the truth about toxic chemicals in their clothes, homes, playgrounds etc…?

A note on chamomile. It's in Branch brand. I do am very allergic to ragweed. Chamomile is in th ragweed family, at least Paul Harvey said so many years ago. One question, the only reason I keep bleach or pine sol is if the toilet backs up, overflows on the floor or someone vomits... I know! But what do you recommend for these situations where the gross factor is huge?!

My problem is the family get clothes insanely dirty and greasy on the farm. The friendly products just don’t clean the same so I double rinse them.
Try soaking them for 30+ min. with warm water and baking soda prior to washing them.

Hi! You can buy cheap white vinegar, add lemon, or orange peels, and use your old spray bottle for cleaning your toilet, sink, windows. Buy a large box of bicarbonate of soda, this works well with vinegar for unblocking sink, getting tiles clean, ovens, etc. Look up LITTLE DIY on RUclips, she does short, easy to follow videos of natural alternatives. Seems to me that the cleaning products aisle at all grocery stores is getting way to whiffy these days. Overpowering scents added to all the products is not necessary. Fresh laundry has its own natural scent that is subtle and not offensive.

Vinegar and baking soda
Sometimes whenever I'm around certain people (who either don't know or don't care) that have so many different fragrances on that I can't breathe. It's on their clothes, and/or the perfume they wear, and Hairspray. I can only hold my breath so long. These fragrances give me migraines. Therefore, I have to try to avoid some people. Smokers are the worst (at least the few women, I know) when it comes to wearing a lot of perfume. I have been sensitive the fragrances for a very long time. Also, I can't use most hand lotions or creams. same reason. I have very sensitive skin. The lotions and creams give me a rash. Some people just don't understand. I have been washing our laundry with either a very mild dish soap (like ivory from a long time ago, which I can no longer use) and now use an unscented laundry soap. I used to make my own laundry soap. I always use white vinegar in place of the fabric softener. Thank you for putting this video out. I really appreciate it. :) Oh, and then there's shampoos and cream rinse for hair. I have used baking soda to wash my hair.
I stopped using perfume in my 20s because it gave me a headache. I'm interested in what you use for shampoo. And my son told me that baking soda breaks down the structure of the hair because of it PH? (I think.) Have you found that to be the case?

You can typically balance out a high PH with dilution.
@@helenebennie3961 I use Prell when I can find it in the store, but I use very little as it's concentrated. And then, I use white vinegar for cream rinse once in a while. No, I don't think the PH was a problem. We have really slimy water. I don't know how to explain it, but the water here to me feels slimy. I guess it has a lot of minerals or something in it. I have looked for the Prell in the store and whenever I find it I'll buy as much as is on the shelf to sort of stock up for when it's no longer available. I hope that helps. In 1979, when I went to live with my grandmother after grandpa passed away is when I discovered, I could no longer use lotions from the store. I'd either get a rash or streaks running up and neck. So, I'd wash it off. Then a couple years later, I couldn't use perfumes. by the way, I didn't put the perfume on my skin, I'd put it on my hairbrush and then by brushing my hair in front of the wall furnace while it dried. I'm also allergic to roses and marigolds. Roses give me a migraine and marigolds give me a rash. So, when the neighborhood roses are in bloom it makes it hard for me to go outdoors.
@@helenebennie3961 I use Prell when I can find it in the store. But I only use a small amount as it's concentrated. I used to wash my hair every day, but it's been years since I did that now it's once a week. our water feels very slimy to me, So, I don't have a problem with the PH. I also use white vinegar for cream rinse once in a while not often.

Buy only items especially cosmetics and personal care items that do not test on animals. You might want to stop using milk also, read how cows are treated. Vinegar and water are great cleaners.
Get your milk, eggs, meat, fruits, veggies, honey, etc from trusted local farmers. Lots of places online to look for them. Farmers markets and butcher shops are good starting points too.
And look into what they use instead of animals to test products. Just another example of self-righteous people valuing animal lives over human ones.
I make oat milk by soaking quick oats in cold water overnight. Strain it for use on cereals, etc, and cook the residual oats for bkfst. 🥣
We have a few sheep and one in particular loves to get head and belly scratches! She wags her tail and half closes her eyes
And you shear her wool which is absolutely necessary for her health.

There’s a great app called Think Dirty that has a lot of mainstream product information.
doTERRA is a wonder trusted brand. You don't want ingredients that say 'fragrance' because it's a lab created fragrance that is full of 2000 undisclosed chemicals that are dangerous to health and DNA.

Any suggestions how to naturally remove stains such as turmeric and beetroot from work top ? Vinegar doesn’t seem to do the job , only bleach 😢
I think you are pretty much stuck with those, but you could applique a patch over the stain, or do some embroidery over it. Turmeric and beet are the absolute worst to get out, so covering may be your only option. I wear old clothes when I'm working with turmeric. Hope this helps.

Baking soda, white vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide are great for many things.
Make your own. It's quick, super cheap, and you have control over what goes in it 😊 lots and LOTS of tutorials out there for everything imaginable. Remember, before we had all these things you find in stores we did without.
Just a minute ago I soaked a white towel which will be used for a soon to be born baby girl. I added vanish white powedr and standard soap persil and some vinegar. When I rinse it out I will soak it again in warm water and just vinegar. Vinegar softens it and hopefully the towel will come out white.
If not, maybe try a tiny bit of Mrs. Stewart’s Concentrated Liquid Non-Toxic Bluing?

@razamughal4582 I'm no expert on blueing, but I hear good things about it's whitening abilities. Maybe also try fluffing it up with some wool dryer balls or 5-6 balled up pairs of dry socks for softeness?
Peroxide in a spray bottle. Great takes stains out and doesn't smell. 😊
What i like to do is double wash - wash with detergent first, then wash only with water the second time

I do a double rinse, I add vinegar to that rinse, about half a cup. makes my clothes soft and it gets rid of any left over soap on the clothes.

I loved the idea of wool dryer balls until I found out I'm allergic to them. Ugh ... Defeated the whole purpose. I can only use wool if it doesn't directly contact my skin. So I'm back to deyer sheets. Can't afford the natural one's probably. I don't make $80,000+ of $ like most people per year.
I’ve seen plastic balls (with little nubs) that serve the same purpose as dryer balls. Maybe those would work for you?
Oh you don't need dryer sheets, all they are doing is coating your clothes in poison. You will get used to and love your clothes smelling and feeling clean.
For softer clothes use vinegar in your wash. I just fill my fabric softener slot with vinegar. Even my line dried clothes are soft.

ever seeing any dead ant's, but this I do know, they wont return.
