I am the daughter of a fallen officer. My Dad was a Louisiana State Trooper for 30 years and on October 3rd 2017 he answered officer needs assistance call on a domestic disturbance. My Dad jumped in between the other officer and the man with the gun. My Dad took 2 shots to the chest and face. I was on a plane coming home when I got the call. I didn't make it home in time. He was my Superman and my Hero. This song helps me so much and I want to say thank you Chris Young this song helps me when I am missing my Daddy

I lost both parents 25 days apart and my dog in between. I remember saying to a friend, "I just want to get past this pain".... he told me, "You never get over it- you just learn to live with the pain and it will become a part of you. Embrace the good that you shared with them. That's when I took a positive outlook- rather than focusing on the loss, I had 48 years with my parents where they watched me grow from a boy to a man, watched my life evolve and were there for a lot of my achievements. GT, so sorry for your loss! I lost my mom 4 years ago to Dementia, my dad is almost 92 and doing well. My wife, best friend of 33 years, Carol Hardy, was killed instantly by a wheel breaking off another vehicle going the opposite direction, while bringing my son home from a baseball tournament. May be wrong but I prayed God would take my mom. The person I saw was not her. But after losing my wife, I told my dad he doesn't have a choice, he has to live for awhile. I am like your friend, I think we just have to learn to cope with it. 41 weeks since I lost my best friend and I cry every night. You are blessed to have parents see you grow to be a strong man. Too much pain when I hear these songs. I lost my mom just before mine and my dad's birthdays on Mar 6th, 2017 it's been 6 years, and sometimes it still hurts like that nite. Just before her 1yr anniversary, I lost my beloved pet and sweet baby, who she had gotten for me due to a medical mistake that cost me to lose him. My grandfather was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and when he told us about it, he was all positive. July 28th 2024, my uncle called me and said “Rick is in the hospital and it’s not looking so good” so we went go to see him one last time at the hospital. It was devastating to see him very pale and yellowish color, barely could talk, and couldn’t move well. So we went in for an hour and when it was time to say goodbye for one last time. I gave him a hug and said I love you. July 31st 2024, 3 days later at 1:35pm he passed away. It hurted so damn bad. Love your grandparents while you still have them.

Every time I hear this song, I think of my Mom. She died all alone in her car in a parking lot at the lab she went to for bloodwork in June of 2021 in Tucson, AZ. She was my best friend, confidant, travel buddy and partner in crime. It definitely is not the same down here without her.

I'm from a large family, oldest of seven, grew up close, back when there was a middle class. We come from a long line of Marines. Raised on Honor, Respect, Duty & Fa8th on God My sister Linda stole family pics, my youngest daughter stole my pics. Ya just never know how evil can ruin a family. Only youngest brother and sister communicate. My immediate family never calls, visits, so I'm alone all the time. Hard to believe Daddy's been gone 45 yrs, was only 56, Oct 12 1986, Semper Fi Ooh Rah! Mamo left us @ 85 on 3/25/2001. So I don't have pics to pull out, but it's ok as we have an Amazing God who works in mysterious ways. He gave me a photographic memory & my brain is sharp as a tac, Thk You Mr Young for this song, I have less time now to wait and be with ones that truly loved me & I them. And all my beloved canine friends

I have a voicemail from my dad a couple weeks before his passing saying he was “getting out of the hospital” when they discharged him briefly. It was foreshadowing for sure looking back because I’m sure looking at it as him saying he was getting out of his mortal body to go to heaven.

I am the daughter of a fallen officer. My Dad was a Louisiana State Trooper for 30 years and on October 3rd 2017 he answered officer needs assistance call on a domestic disturbance. My Dad jumped in between the other officer and the man with the gun. My Dad took 2 shots to the chest and face. I was on a plane coming home when I got the call. I didn't make it home in time. My wife, best friend of 33 years, Carol Hardy, was killed instantly by a wheel breaking off another vehicle going the opposite direction, while bringing my son home from a baseball tournament. May be wrong but I prayed God would take my mom. The person I saw was not her. But after losing my wife, I told my dad he doesn't have a choice, he has to live for awhile. I am like your friend, I think we just have to learn to cope with it. 41 weeks since I lost my best friend and I cry every night. You are blessed to have parents see you grow to be a strong man. My grandfather was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and when he told us about it, he was all positive. July 28th 2024, my uncle called me and said “Rick is in the hospital and it’s not looking so good” so we went go to see him one last time at the hospital. It was devastating to see him very pale and yellowish color, barely could talk, and couldn’t move well. So we went in for an hour and when it was time to say goodbye for one last time. I gave him a hug and said I love you. July 31st 2024, 3 days later at 1:35pm he passed away. It hurted so damn bad. Love your grandparents while you still have them.

My granddaddy died from covid 12/20/20 and my world has been turned upside down I don't know how to live in this world without him. He was my best friend and greatest supporter and I'm lost without him. I knew this day would have to come but I wasn't ready at all.
This Saturday will be 50 years since my Dad has been gone. 50 birthdays he has missed, my graduation, walking me down the aisle on my wedding day. I never had the chance to meet him since he died before I was born, but part of me also died that day when he did. A piece of my heart will always be missing.

Every time I hear this song, I think of my Mom. She died all alone in her car in a parking lot at the lab she went to for bloodwork in June of 2021 in Tucson, AZ. She was my best friend, confidant, travel buddy and partner in crime. It definitely is not the same down here without her.

Lost my mom when I was 21 years old.. will be 24 in June and it’s been a hard three years.. it’s absolutely the worst feeling loosing a parent especially when you were so young and had so much life for them to see up close.
I love this song. I listen to it often. I lost my son Kelly and my fiancee Kristian in the same week almost 14 years ago. This song brings me alot of pain but it's also cathartic for my soul. Hey all you folks. I'm an old fella that lost his grand-daughter Nov. 25 of 2022 to a drunk driver. You know I don't even hate the guy that was drunk. Been to busy grieving my lost little love--she was 6. There is just too much pain to try and share it all at one time on here. I love this song it helps to deal with the pain the unanswered questions. I know Jesus personally, He is my Lord and Savior but never once did He say I couldn't ask Him why? I will attempt to live my life now as perfect as He ask in hopes of not only making the streets of gold but now I long to see my ClaraBelle again... Love to all ... Dominique, I’m sorry for your loss. My father passed from Lymphoma Mar 18th 2018. This is my first time hearing this song. I’m glad your are able to call his number. I have a voicemail from my dad a couple weeks before his passing saying he was “getting out of the hospital” when they discharged him briefly. It was foreshadowing for sure looking back because I’m sure looking at it as him saying he was getting out of his mortal body to go to heaven.
