I’m in North Cornwall, and I’ve had a struggle getting motivated, there have been the odd day I’ve managed to get beds in the garden tidied , I’ve also got broad beans doing really well along with some very early peas that have coped with the constant wind and rain, I’ve just found out the temperature is going to drop again at night for a few days. I am desperate for some warm sunny days like you , hopefully it won’t be long now, thanks Erica it’s good to know someone else feels as I do.
I'd look up the dwarf tomato breeding project. I'm growing Sean's Yellow & Beauty King dwarfs this year. They only grow 3-4ft tall, so should do well anywhere in which height is an issue. Like the back row in most greenhouses, or poly. A large pot on a patio would also be a good spot for them. Four foot ish, plus a foot and a little for the pot. Still leaves with a max height of about five and a half foot. Most indeterminate tomatoes will be a good eight-foot tall, if you have a decent year. Then you have issues reaching/staking them. Dwarfs aren't determinates. They are basically indeterminate tomatoes, which grow at half the rate. So say your dwarf is the result of breeding a plant that could reach eight, or nine foot tall. The dwarf should max out round four to maybe five at most. With the vast majority being in that four foot ish range. There are a few talks on here by Greg, who headed the breeding project. LUCKY GARDEN also has a lot of tomato reviews, including some on dwarf verities. I hope this helps, all the best for 2023.
I have struggled this year with motivation, it's been a very long winter, I'm desperate for some dry and warm days! My only saving grace had been my polytunnel 😊🌱 xx
I'd always rather it be bright and cold this time of year. Than a few degrees warmer, overcast, and rainy. I have been in my poly tunnel a fair few days already in a sleeveless t-shirt. It's like a washing line in there with long sleeve tops, jumper, and jackets, lol. Deckchair, and a cuppa like it's a summer's day. And that's Tyrone in the north-west of Ireland. We get a lot of wind & rain here. So those bright days in the poly with seedlings, and a cuppa are a big moral boost.
Maskotka are a great bush variety that do really well outside, I’ve been growing them for years now. Always get masses of tomatoes! Would highly recommend
Good morning, Erica, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸 I'm glad you are getting started, even if you are slower than usual. I'm glad to see your garden channel growing. I raise worms 🪱, Vermiculture. I use 25% Worm Castings in my Potting soil. I haven't used peat moss in several years. Take care and Happy Gardening ❤Peggy❤
Hi I’m in Lincolnshire and it’s my first year doing a little allotment in my garden. I love that you say the date your making your videos because that’s a big help to me, I think we must have a similar climate and you see so many videos that you don’t know when and where people are filming that it can be confusing. Wish me luck your videos have some great tips 🤞🏼🪴🙏🏼☀️😀
😂😂 I “palm” lots of plants to people thank goodness. Lots going on and I agree some days the weather just is such a downer I have a hard time getting going. Thank god for sunny days too 💪. Have a great weekend Erica, Ali 🇨🇦
The weather in South Devon has been so horribly wet and I feel way behind sowing seeds too Erica. The forecast looks better for next week so I will be going for it with much gusto. Thanks for the video Erica 🙂
Hi, from up the road, getting webbed feet! Don't worry Erica, there's plenty of time for sowing. Little and often is the key. And you've done lots already. It's going to get warmer and dryer soon, I think 🤞🤞
Awsome, lots of flowers gone in my garden. From sunflowers to nasturtiums. 1 bed is 200ft long, with a 4ft wide flower bed as a background. Plus many patches 4ft by 8, 16, 32 ft long. Just filled with flowers to add lots of colours 😊
@Cheryl Howker it fills 2 30ft tunnels and a 36ft greenhouse. Just in seed trays and seedlings 🌱 lol 😆 too much, but j give 80% ish away. Just keeps me active
@@dn744 that’s well lots. But I’m pleased it keeps you busy and you are happy, also will make others happy to receive plants. I tried last year to do the same and sell them for 50p and not one sold. Was trying to raise money for guide dogs 🦮 but may as well sent them the money I spent on seed and compost lol. But I’m composting down all the old stuff to make new compost for this year or next.
Like you I've been totally lacking in motivation this year because of the awful weather, its been so cold and wet I haven't got a thing started yet ! I'm wondering if its worth while now and I should just forget it for this year. I've even lost houseplants because of the cold !
I have over 100 more onions to go out and yes I feel the same have had enough. I’m gonna try and do the same sort of thing with the onions. My mum likes smaller onions as then you use most of one or all of it instead of 1/4 lol
@@ericaslittlewelshgarden tbh mine isn’t as big as yours by any means but it feels like it’s taking forever and I’m fed up already just want it done and tidy. It’s a mess out out with stuff everywhere but I know but by bit I will get there. It doesn’t help with my medical issues I sometimes like today am unable to do anything and it has to be a duvet day but it’s annoying when it’s a lovely day as I loose out. But it’s coz I’ve pushed myself too mush the last 4-5 days while it’s been dry to get things done. Eventually we will win but there will always be more todo

Oh, thanks for the tip.
tip for greenhouse tomato varieties, Honeybee, Sungold, Supersweet 100. Red, yellow and orange cherry tomato mix
Probably done over 60 varieties in the last decade and none come close to sungold. Beautiful tomatoes.
Thanks for the advice.
Clocks went forward :)

Fab, I'll have to look them up.

Its like we have regressed back to winter. Sick of fog and zero sunlight. Your carrots look a bit like mine. I put them in the coldframe.
I think the carrots will just stay out now.

Love primroses and so the same as you have have got about 18 now now and got them in the new raised beds and the new trees planters
My tomatoes seedlings are tiny still, only 1 has its 1st leaf so having to wait longer lol but that’s ok
