No I was saying you will definitely need a winter coat in Dallas! The weather there is crazy in the winter, lol
What about your heart charm bracelet. Any chance you can provide a link?
Good Luck Dominique!!💖

Welllll.. in the last day we've gotten so many texts and phone calls about this video from our neighbor and friends. Beautiful! I'm the current owner of your old home at 142 Litchfield. The dog in the window is Lucy (Lucille). She's a Boxador (boxer/Lab mix) rescue from CAP. If you ever pass by again, drop me a line and you're welcome to see the inside of your childhood home again. I'd also LOVE to hear more about this neighborhood in the 70's/80's. We fell in love with this neighborhood the second we saw it online, when home searching and really is quite a unique place in Houston. 🤗
How nice of you I hope she sees your comment
She should have gotten your permission before filming. You are being quite nice.
@@liana2136 Ask for permission before filming the street view of a multi-family building? Get a grip!
@Sotweetie
Actually, she filmed the window of a private residence. It’s an invasion of privacy.
@@SotweetieAs the previous commenter pointed out, it was a closeup of the window of a private residence showing the interior. Legally, a release form should have been signed for that kind of shot. I've worked in the film industry, so I'm familiar. So thanks, but not only do I have a good "grip" on what is right and decent, but also what is legal.
I believe it was therapeutic for you to stroll down memory lane before you leave for your new journey…I can see a sparkle in your eye which tells me you’re in a good place! All of us know your Mom lives in you and so she will be with you! Best of Luck❤️☘️
Riding bikes and being hime before dark was one of the best feelings in my childhood. 🚴
Same here. We had no fear back then, it was normal to go bike riding around the neighborhood, we had so much fun. I would go with my cousins and we would ride by the houses of the boys we liked. The good ol’ days….miss them.
We had to be home when the street lights came on
Dominique, good luck! You are an amazing woman! Wherever you go, you will shine bright, you will be loved and you will change lives with your kind soul!
The timing is right for you Dominique. If your mom was still here then you would have found it hard to say yes to this job and move away from her but now you can and you know she would want you to.
Looking forward to seeing where this opportunity takes you.
Congrads DOM

I agree
Why on earth has CBS Sunday morning or another National news program not snatched you up as a reporter by now? Your story telling skills are so engaging, introspective, positive, and relatable. Thank you for taking us down your memory lane Dominque. I too walked with you and remembered the freedom of play outside as a child, the endless hours at the pool, and wanting every item from the Limited Express. 😊 Remember the Guess jeans and the neon earrings? I’m convinced it was Express that started my love affair with all things French. Remember walking into the store to all cool, French music? 🎶 Great memories, thank you! Godspeed and blessings to you as you turn the page to next chapter of your life ❤ See you later 😊
She has stated quite candidly that she doesn't want to be involved in the "news" business anymore.
@liana2136
Hope she continues to walk that talk and stays away from the corrupt media organizations.
Simple. She’s conservative with values. They want people willing to be walking robots they can buy off and sell their souls.
She makes waaaay more money on here

Well, Dominique, you are an example for me. I'm from 69 and I live in Belgium. At this moment in my life, I'm not scared anymore to close a chapter. You can't wait any longer... the clock is ticking! I wish you all the luck, you are bold and blessed. Happy 2024 from Brigitte from Belgium ❤
Love you so very much Dominique!!!! I am so happy that God is moving you at the perfect timing… He certainly is taking great care of you and I believe your mom is guiding you every step of the way! God Bless you ! I cannot wait to hear about these new exciting changes in more detail, best of luck and blessings on your new endeavors. I have been tuning into you for quite some time, I’m also going to be 52 and your podcast are very enlightening to my world. You are a wonderful spirit and whatever you are doing may you be protected by God’s light always❤
Actually, Dominique, I'm a 62 year old woman who lives with her Mother who is 90 now !! I'm scared to face the inevitable every day , but taking THE best care of her I can. We lost Dad 3 years ago, entire family with him at home, was really beautiful but so, so hard. I k own I'll be grieving within the next few years again, and will be the one to find her, as I live here, but I guess it's my honor to her and my loving sisters to be ready and face this when it comes. I appreciate your love and devotion to your Mom...I feel the same way ❤
Well done. This was a tear jerker, but you are going on another exciting adventure and we get to travel that path with you. Batten down the hatches, here we come!
I agree, I shed a few tears for Dominique as well as myself because I related to so much of what she shared
You are a jewel! I wish you all the best, and can’t wait to see what’s next for you. Thank you for another amazing video❣️
I agree I'm still in tears it was beautiful..
I am literally in tears by the end of this video. First let me say that I truly appreciated your honesty in your previous video/podcast. It had been a while since you had opened up to your viewers in this way. Thank you for letting us reflect on our own lives and choices. Secondly, your Mom 'knew' what you are capable of and I am sure that she has something to do with all this from wherever her spirit is.
O my I wasn't prepared to cry through this whole video, it was a good cry, seeing your mom next to you walking by your side with so much pride in her beautiful daughter!! God Bless
Same here...
I also moved to DFW from Houston and the hardest part was leaving places that I shared memories with my parents and family. They all passed on before I moved so I felt a bit naked and vulnerable to move, as though I was moving on without them. But they've always been with me, just not physically. I still take those home town tours and visit all the homes, schools, neighborhoods, etc. of my childhood every time I am in Houston.
The good ol' days of growing up in that era. Congratulations on your new adventure! Thank you for taking us along your past, present and future! You are inspiring to me as I am of the same generation.
What a wonderful message from the owner of your childhood home. Very sweet and kind. Wishing you the very best that life has to offer. Love how you honored your mom❤
You and I are making big moves. I have been in Florida for 14 years. Going back to my home State of Maine. I'm sure I will shed some tears as I'm sure you will too. Best to you always.
So pleased that Oscar is keeping you company on this new journey. 🐕 ❤
We all love you Dominique, thank you for your special connection to Houston. Dallas is so lucky. God bless you❤️
your mom lives in my heart also. thanks for sharing her
I’m so sorry for the loss of your incredible mom.😔
You’ve inspired me so much, Dominique. Always pushing past your comfort and leaning into where God is guiding you.🙏🏻
Very sorry to read about the loss of your Mom 🙏
I can’t believe I’m sobbing watching this. Not because it’s sad but because I can relate to leaving everything. So many memories! I’ve been with you and your mom for so long. It’s hard to change, but oh so necessary. May God richly Bless You on this new journey. I’m so happy for you.
Loved the chairs outside that you shared with Audrey. Beautiful❤
When she reached over and patted the arm on the other chair, the tears welled up in my eyes.
I lost my mom suddenly when I was 22, she was 52. You have SO many beautiful memories. On to your next chapter. It’s going to be great. You’ll see. God is in control. On you go…🙏🏻💜
Omg, I was 23 and 3 months pregnant when my Mom died at 57. Bless you, I know how hard it is!
Same here. I was 27 and my mommy was 58. Yesterday was her birthday. ❤
I was 15 and my Mom was only 49. Miss her everyday!
Your life is very much like mine right now. I lost my mom in March of 2023, and I am now preparing to say "goodbye" to the home I grew up in. As I sit here in my mom's old bedroom, I feel her the most here. This house holds so many memories. I will be moving to a new town as a single woman of 53, and will be starting over. Dominique, you have no idea how much your videos have helped me, and this one is a favorite even though I shed a few tears. Thank you. I ordered your book, and I can't wait to read it. I also can't wait to see your future videos in your new city. God bless you, and all the best. ❤
Dearest Dominique... Up up and away, the evolution of a life is awesome, and it makes me happy to see you're making the absolute most of it! You Go Girl❤❤❤❤
This made me cry… so touching about visiting your last Houston home, where both you & Audrey lived.❤
Know for sure that your mom is going wherever you go as they never leave us. There will never be another childhood like the ones we all had back in the day and that makes me sad, but also very glad that I got to be a part of those times. Best of luck on your new endeavor and can’t wait to hear what it is.
God bless you on your journey and for your mom who left a beautiful person like you.❤❤❤😊😊😊
Did not expect to tear up when you were in the courtyard of JJV at UH. It’s been almost 7 years since I graduated from there and I have never gone back. I had such a wonderful experience and loved every class I took. Just a reminder of being younger with the whole world ahead of you and how fast time flies.
I lost my mom too, seeing your mom in your video makes me cry. You are you because of her too. Thank you for this video.
Congrats on your exciting new adventure! You deserve the best that life has for you! In 2006, when I was 47, I moved to a city 2 hrs away, leaving behind all my family members & life memories for an opportunity, so I can totally relate to the emotional experience that you are now going through. The move changed my life & it was the best decision I’ve ever made! So hold on, Dominique, for the ride of your life!!! xo
Dominique, you are just beautiful inside & out. 🤍🌟 Just love your hometown & all of the wonderful memories you shared with your beautiful Mom. (My wonderful mother is gone three years, miss her so very much.)God’s blessings to you always. Ps~ I’m 56 & yes, the 70’s & 80’s, riding our bikes, going to the mall along with NO cell phones made for a wonderful time to grow up. 🤍🌟👏🏻🙏🏻 Love, Joy from Staten Island NY 😊
Gosh, Dominique, you are such a beautiful soul! This video was absolutely brilliant, heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. I wish you so much joy in your new surroundings and happiness in your new life adventures. I am sending you my love and pray many blessings come your way in 2024.❤️
I wish you the best!!! Just recently I left Houston. It was my home for 20 years my son was born there. But life changes, I got divorced and 21:22 moved back to my hometown Buenos Aires. I love bringing back home but Houston will always be in my heart.
I love that you are so open and share your story. Makes me feel like we are real friends. I relate to you in so many ways. I look forward to you bringing us along on your next brave chapter of your life. Stay blessed❤
"And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose" Romans 8:28. I know my Dear Dominique, that you know for sure this verse of the Word of God, 'cause you are a spiritual woman, a believer in Jesus. So, rest in this beautiful promise of Abba. I´m a Mexican woman, I follow you years ago, sorry if my English is not precise or perfect, but many times I´ve wanted to tell you how much you have inspired my life, so this is the moment. Thank you for beign transparent, kind, wise, and so real woman, that has make in us a feeling of emphaty and we have felt identified with some of your experiences, and I also like your elegance, even when you are so casual. Well my dear Dominique, I'll pray for you, asking God this transition goes for you in joy and in peace, you leave Houston with beautiful memories in your heart, but the best you have and carry with you is the Spirit of God to help and guide and support you any time, any place. Saludos desde Cd. Juárez México querida Dominique.
This was so touching. ❤️I think this is a great idea to do something similar for our children and grandchildren so they have a sense of who we are and where we came from. Best wishes on your new adventure ❤
Love You…Thankyou so much for sharing these very eloquent memories. You are a grande Communicator. Cheers to You, Kid🥂🍾❤
Okay, sweet Dominique, you finally made me cry. Your mom was a beautiful soul. I'm looking forward to your next journey. Thanks for taking your followers along for this time in your life. Follow your heart, and take us along with you. We can't wait to see what God has in store for you.
Dominique, I am so proud of you for being willing to step out of your comfort zone! It is encouraging to all of we ladies to maybe do the same should that nudge or tap comes to us!
Another lovely chapter in your life is about to start ....And we cant wait to all come along with you xx
Dominique, God Bless You and Wish You Good Luck In Your New Home Town & Home . May God Bless You & Keep You Safe Always. Prayers For You 🙏 🙏🙏🙏.
Never too old or too secure/set in our ways to make a change and adapt to something new and exciting! Your pup is just lovely!
There's something so special about taking a walk or a Jeep ride down memory lane! I'm so sorry to hear that your sweet, beautiful, stylish mother passed. Immensely enjoyed the video.
I moved in 2012 to Califonia, specifically the East Bay, and lived in Walnut Creek, it was a big change for my wife and me. We missed the west side of town but grew to love Walnut Creek and the bay area. Minutes from San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkley were wonderful. The weather was great and the people were awesome. Made lots of new friends. We moved back to Texas at the end of 2021. It took me a while to get adjusted because I grew to love CA and made great memories with all we did while we lived in CA. I guess my point is that new memories will be formed with old friends that visit and new friends you make. It will be all good in the end. Good luck with the move and the change.
We are all right on schedule and right where we’re supposed to be in our Gods perfect time♥️Good for you!!! You’ll be just so much better!!! Grow, Sister, GROW♥️‼️🥰🙋♀️☮️Blessings!!!
Thank you, Dominique, for taking us back to your growing up memories . We love you no matter where you're at. You must follow God's plan to be happy ❤❤.
Oh my heart ♥️🥲 Yes, how lucky indeed. Here’s to a new adventure, Dominique! 🙏🏼
Cheers to you Dominique! Wishing you all the very best in the “ Big City”! I feel fortunate to be with you on your new journey via RUclips! ❤
In Dallas at the moment, just by pure chance due to work commitments. Never been in Texas, and might not come back here, but just saw this video the day you published it (I have been following you for a while). I am about to go back to Dublin (Ireland), actually on the plane, so just wanted to say just as plane is about to take off. Dear Dominique sending you a warm hug for this upcoming new chapter of your life. You are such a kind loving person, you only deserve the best dear. Lost my dad this Xmas but carry him on my heart, same as you do with your mum. May they give us strength ❤
Oh...and beautiful video too. Love it
Congratulations on your new job!! Loved hearing about your past history. I wish you the best on your new journey. May the Lord guide as you press on. From a TN gal.
How beautiful! Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. Wishing you ALL the best for your new adventures in Dallas! God is so good!
I never expected to be moved by your look back, the sadest part was your loss of your Mum Audrey. Your such a strong woman, and im sure you will be very happy in your new assignment, you will have Courtney with you to share the exciting times. We are all looking forward to seeing your next journey. Best wishes and may God bless you, enjoy the next page in your journey through life Dominique. From a very cold U.K.
What a beautiful way to reminiscence and honor a place called home. ❤
I just left my hometown as well. I’m a New Yorker and now at 61 I’ve moved to Florida. Excited to find out what God has in store for us in our new beginnings.
Wishing you all the best. Please stay with us. We wan to continue on your journey! Best to you!!! Keep living a blessed life.
I’m sure it feels bittersweet. I’m happy for the change for you! Best of luck in your new endeavor! Can’t wait to watch your ongoing success!
I have watched this 3 times, crying each time. My husband sat with me and watched it too. I have shared it, twice.
I’ve been praying for you all morning. ❤️❤️🙏🙏
You know your mom is so proud of you, and she’ll be with you in Dallas cheering you on as you move into your new life.
Watched this video twice and had tears in my eyes, it's such a sentimental and sweat farewell to your home city of Houston! Loved it!! You spoke with such gratitude, love and appreciation about your life and people in your life, your mum in particular. You're beautiful, talented and courageous soul and I'm wishing you nothing but the best in your future endeavour!
This was inspiring. To have the courage to say goodbye to so much and take a leap. That's hard. You dont realize all the people and places you touch until you leave them all. Congratulations and good luck on your new adventure.
Dominique♥️♥️♥️
I wish you the very BEST always!!
Praying for You my dear beautiful Friend💞
Ohhh... this video was so poignant, beautiful, and fun. Thank you for taking us through your memory lane. I wish you all the happiness and success. You so deserve it. Looking forward to sharing the next chapter of your life. Thank you Dominique...
Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories as you embark on your new journey. I know your mom is looking out for you and smiling as you take this new path✨
You are a courageous and beautiful soul. Many Blessings and light to you🙏🏽✨❤️
Dominique, you are truly a woman to be admired on so many levels. Your heart is true and you seem to always speak FROM your heart. I wish you well and much happiness on your next adventure. Thank you for all your sharing with all of us!!!!!
Wow, thank you
What an amazing video, SO nostalgic!!!! There is something about you Dominique that is rare nowadays, you’re genuine and seem like an amazing woman! I love God too so is nice to see an accomplished woman love and praise God for her blessings! Keep doing what you’re doing! This kind of video I love along with your healthy what I eat videos
I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us as you embark on your new chapter/journey!! Congratulations!
Your Mom is always with you…yes in your heart❤
I hope your future is full of wonder. You have always been so honest about your life when you have shared with us.
Thanks for sharing your memories with us. I love hearing people’s stories. You’re gonna be only three hours away from me in Dallas. Houston seemed so far away. I love when I’m near my favorite RUclipsrs, they feel even more relatable.
I’m so glad that you have wonderful memories of people… places… and things! So glad that you are happy now! You’ve been through so much🥰
Seeing your mom made me cry, so I can imagine how hard it is for you. She however would be thrilled and so proud of you. You could do no wrong in her eyes and she is definitely watching over you and Styles. I'm very excited to see what you and Courtney will be up to in Dallas. I have family in Denton and McKinney. See ya soon.
Oh Dominique! I arrived in Houston on 1.1.1979, fresh from Paraguay, to study architecture at UH....I left in 2020. I met an Austrian and married. Now I live in Austria. It was very hard to leave my life in Houston, but it was time. Happy trails Dominique!
Dominique, from the bottom of my heart I wish you all the luck you deserve in this new part of your life. More than anything, I wish that you recover the part of yourself that you lost since your divorce. I don´t see that spark of joy in your eyes anymore that you used to have, let alone after your mom´s passing. Speaking of your mom, I´m sure she sent this new chapter in your life to help you overcome so many losses. Wish you the best.
Grace should be your middle name. The more you journey and experience life lessons, the more it seems your soul exudes grace; it's evident in these genuine glimpses of your life that you share with us. It's difficult to leave a place where its foundations are cemented in our hearts, especially if it is associated with people we deeply love and who are no longer with us, but you do know that it's because of strong roots that we find our wings to fly. It may be a different air space but you will no doubt soar in your new adventure. By the way, You couldn't have chosen a more perfect quote at the end of this video; it's one of my favourite 'Pooh-isms'.
Your authenticity made me (and I’m sure others) roll with you through your underlined emotions in this video. It was enjoyable to ride and stroll with you down “memory lane”; It gave me pause as to my own path. Thank you for sharing and all you do for this community.
I’ve been here in Houston since I was 6 years old too. I’m 51 now and gessner has a special place in my heart also. Makes me sad you won’t be here. Wishing you the very best! May god protect you and bless you in this new chapter. ❤
Can’t wait to hear more about your move and new job! Thank you for bringing us along, but most importantly thank you for showing me that changes are exciting and fun, if that’s how we perceive them. I could feel your sense of adventure and excitement in this video, while also feeling the loving presence of your mother. Your strength and courage are an inspiration.
🥰
Oh Dominique! I can see why this is such a hard move for you. 😭
You are very Brave! ❤
Best video you have done in months!! Felt more you!! ❤
Thank you, Dominique for sharing your beautiful journey and many blessings to you on your new adventure! B.
Wow Wow! I loved this, as it reminded me of four years ago when I left Austin, TX, my childhood home for Atlanta. Taking those walks and drives down memory lane before the big move. I hope you will have a special "drive out" song as you leave town for your new home.
I moved to Houston in 1979, I too am looking for NEW roads to travel at this time in my own life. Houston will miss you of that I am certain. I WISH you much happiness as YOU chart a new path. Yes often it is necessary for personal growth.
At first I thought you might be moving overseas or to another state. I believe one of the greatest gifts you can receive is the opportunity to live in a new area ideally in a different part of the country. You learn as much or more about yourself alongside the experiences and people you meet. You learn more than you think you will learn. It changes you for the better. I hope you consider living outside Texas after this first big move for you. What a perfect time in your life to spread your wings. So delighted for you! I've lived in four corners of the U.S. and two places in the Southern/Midwest region as an adult, but grew up for the first 18 years of my life in the same place. Scared at first to relocate (I was single woman) but each subsequent move made me MORE excited about the newest adventure & growth! As everyone says, there's a big difference between visiting some place and actually living there as a resident. You'll feel your Mom in your new locale, too, and she'd be extremely proud of what you've chosen to do in this new chapter. Always say YES
I hope she doesn’t move too far from her son, family is so important and leaving lifetime friends isn’t always fun, either
Exactly how I felt when I drove away from Houston. I was so grateful for all the beautiful things Houston gave me and all I learned. Houston took me in like one of its own!
Oh my gosh, this was so emotional to watch Dominique, thank you so much for taking us down memory lane in this beautiful city. Wishing you all the best in your new adventure, I know you will do well girl 💖
Darling Dominique ~ Your connection to my Derrick has kept me watching you, praying for you and observing what a lovely lady you truly are. May you feel your beloved mother's arms always around you and the power of the wind beneath your wings. You are of great worth.... bsn
Chismosa
Beautiful memories - so moving! Blessings on you, Dominique. 🙏
Such a beautifully produced story...we will miss you here in Houston. Blessings and joy to you on your future journey...Dallas is getting a gem!!! Love you, Dominique♥
Dominique, what a special person you are! Congratulations and best of luck!!!
Seriously, I remember the days of riding our bikes in the neighborhood and getting home by 7:00 PM.
I remember Alicia…I loved in College Station at the time and I was stunned how strong it was, even that far inland. I’ve never seen wind and rain like that…it was unbelievable. I recall all the damage in Houston. Thinking of you and wishing you the best in your next chapter. ❤️🩹
Beautiful! Your video helped me more than I can express. I was in your position 4 years ago when I came to Sugarland to look after my mom and give my son a new lease on life. It was very difficult for me to leave my beloved Manhattan where I raised my son and have such beautiful and special memories. A crazy thing recently happened- I felt that the Houston area had become my home once again! Just like you will find your new City- it will not happen overnight, but it will happen when you least expect it.
Congratulations on your new and special life.
We will all miss you in Houston!
All my best always,
Marie-Elena ❤
Believe it or not, UofH class of ‘80! BFA Environmental Design.
Wow that made me weep Dominique, what a beautiful homage to Houston. May the Lord make straight the crooked ways and smooth the rough places as you travel to your new home and may you blessed 🙏❤️
A lovely tribute to a beautiful city! Best Wishes on your new journey!🎉 I will continue to keep watching all your new journeys and adventures.
I have watched your channel for at least 5 years. You are an inspiration, a Godsend, and a beautiful soul. Good luck on your new journey - I will be anxious to hear from you again.
Congratulations on your new job. I am so happy to see Oscar with you. You go girl ! Thank you for everything you do. God Bless you.
Just a year younger than you and I enjoyed this ride around my hometown that's all grown up now. Wish you all the best on your big move to big D!
You are amazing and you are going to love the Dallas / Fort Worth area! I feel God has great things in store for you and I can't wait to see where He leads you! ❤
Houston will. ALWAYS be your home! YOU'RE a class act anda phenomenal roll model! God bless you on your new journey!!!
