it's casue most heavy weights in smash are easy to combo, also because he has a lot of Lag on stuff like his down smash etc. which in smash is a free landing nair into anything combo most of the time, or a free grab afterwards. Side B. Down B, Neutral B, Side Smash, Down Smash and Down Air are all attacks that should in theory be somewhat easy to punish, but that was not the case afterall with Byleths hitboxes being huge, them killing shields easily and their insane range on side smash for example which can catch an inwards role due to it's long hitbox. The theory in smash was basically *Big move bad*, *small move and grab good*, which still holds up for the most part, but with Byleth and Bowser there are exceptions. Maybe I'm not a 100% right about this, but I think that's what the reason was before he came into pro play. Hope this helps.
yeah that's basically it byleth's the first character to be both characteristically slow with no (good) projectiles and be good. lots of comparisons to heavyweights between frame data and emphasis on speed. also people thought nair sucked just cause it didn't work like Palu nair, so it took (Leo) exposure to the landing hitbox combos for it to be reckoned
Byleth is basically Corrin from smash 4 but instead of pin being busted, it's Byleth's up b along with their respective disjoints. People just say they're mid because of how broken other dlc characters are in this game XD
I was about to check what your di line was for byleth nair into fair cuz I was sure you were accidentally di-ing in for some reason, but then I saw no line and realized that its because you can't di it as it's to weak to send into tumble making that a absolutely true confirm, wow.
I am of the opinion that Meta Knight should be balanced like a Captain Falcon with a good recovery. Unless you execute a really hard combo, the match lasts way to long to win.
The Byleth MK matchup is literally just “my sword is bigger than yours.” Oh, and if I could ask, how did you regrab at 0:18? I thought tornado put you into tumble state?
@@Halfwit_658 I remember trying to do that years ago when I still played smash everyday. Couldn't quite do it though. Maybe you have to be facing the ledge while tumbling for it to work?
@@ToxicPea No, Keith's right. Off the top of my head, the only 2 situations where you can't regrab ledge are (1) when you've already regrabbed the ledge too many times in a row without taking damage or landing on a platform/stage, and (2) when you're in still in the endlag of an animation. You were probably in situation (2). Also, make sure you don't hold the control stick down and/or away from the ledge, as that will make you miss it no matter what.
justinbyleth is unhinged, bro. you'll get him next time.
Nairo has bodied him before in this same matchup in ironmans 😳
@@neverknowsbest. WiFi 🤕
I will never understand how people ever called this character mid

missing the ledge after tornado really feels like that
Good job bro 😎 you'll get the W next time
one of the most dlc nairs
Followed by Aegis nair
It would really be cool if you kept on doing this. This is sick.
Justinbyleth unhinged!
LOL not Bobby
I ain't gonna sugarcoat it.
Fastfall N-Air - Short Hop F-Air
Both of these players were badass. Great matches
Yo, JustinByleth is like a well-known Byleth! Nice job!
The ominous black screen! 😱
my fault i didnt realize that. i edited it back to normal itll prolly be okay soon
@@rocco_mk haha yeah i know the editor goof feels. Done it too in the past

Nair run off fair is so satisfying, byleth has a great nuetral and is dangerous near the ledge. The downside is being slow af.

Honestly it never occurred to me to DI that set up, but I guess i doesn’t matter because you can’t. But yeah it’s a super nice confirm
nair runoff fair is just true between 50-80% lol

You're a genuine inspiration. Keep being cool haha
What byleth does to a mk
Meta Knight is literally the perfect mid tier. He has amazing combos, but struggles to kill at high percents. And has short range.
The Byleth MK matchup is literally just “my sword is bigger than yours.”

You can still grab ledge in tumble state, this goes for all moves that put u in tumble state

@@ZeroWolf51 Interesting! That's pretty cool.
I like f-smash in neutral
as a Meta Knight main it makes my blood boil having to put up with so many annoying characters like, yoshi, sora, Mr. G&M and pyra/mythra.
Why is Byleth NAIR to Fair & Up B to Dair so good?
DLC
it's not THAT good
i mean yeah it's good but as far as broken combos go it's closer to base game combos than DLC
MK mains rise up! (Also where are you from?)
