Okay, I fell in love with this technique and today I tried it. Your recipe and process are absolutely perfect! My cookies look amazing. Not quite as good as yours as my base cookies are not nearly as symmetrical and perfect as yours, but the frosting part came out great, and it was so easy to do! And one additional advantage-it was extremely efficient as far as use of materials go. All the cut off pieces are infinitely recyclable, and at the end of 3 dozen medium sized egg cookies I had a piece of leftover frosting smaller than a dime. I ate it.

Such a brilliant idea! I have some of the lace moulds and did have the powder to make the “stuff” but haven’t had it for ages so haven’t used them. My family aren’t a fan of the taste of fondant icing but this just changes everything. I’m decorating Easter biscuits tomorrow and was going to attempt the Royal icing but I might just do this instead!!air maybe as well as!!

I was just thinking the same, I wonder if it will work in the silicone moulds!? My thinking is because of the butter the cooler you can keep your hands and the less we handle it the better it will work! I’m going to try it tomorrow!

Where has this idea been hiding? Lol. It looks like something you could do with toddlers and be less messy! I love the rolling pin as I have one that didn't do well with a cookie dough and I haven't used it since. Maybe it will work on this?

Once when I had some thick icing left over I tried to knead it in my hand and it became like fondant. I even made flowers out of it using a mold. 😁 Rolled Buttercream is much tastier than icing, people love it, but it is not suitable for shipping.

if the butter was very cold it would not be possible to roll it out. You can cool it only after rolling it out to make it easier to transfer it to a cookie.

Yes, I use different flavors for my cookies.. sometimes I add lemon or mint flavor to my buttercream

I use butter only, but shortening will work too. Butter should not be very soft. I usually give them 8 hours before bagging

Это не замена, это альтернатива. Кто что любит, с чем легче работать… в моем случае - меня давно просили показать как я использую масляный крем.
What makes this buttercream rollable. Is it the corn syrup? That’s the only ingredient I see different from regular buttercream.
