@lockongamingelite right atleast if we die respawn us with the health packs we had at the start of the fight but they say fuck that u die u gwt 0 packs
I welcome the challenge of the boss with this DLC, but I think it's unanimous (or should be) that the lack of checkpoints during an already long boss fight is absolutely daunting and ridiculous. There's a distinct difference between good, difficult gameplay with good mechanics versus "let's just have this boss kill you almost instanteously with a ranged attack." Love Dead Island, but God, this is annoying.
The game is already easy enough to where you can regain health by just hitting and killing stuff. So in my opinion it’s great because it puts more pressure on you to be more strategic on how you beat the boss.
@@dukedeponte3095 I wrote this comment while playing with the "Masochist" card. The fight is much easier with that card removed. That being said, I was eventually able to beat the boss after 15 tries on "Masochist". There's another boss fight within SOLA where you have to face another Clotter named "The Amalgamation" in a confined space. I wasn't able to beat that fight on "Masochist".
This boss was the hardest one I've ever had to face in Dead Island 2, it had me on my toes the entire freaking time. Challenging enough, but it's beatable if done right.
The skill card that boosts medkits and consumables is a must, try using a block skill too, got him pretty easy with the mutilator off of parries, also using the meat baits around the speakers works good for building them up. Hope this helps.
@@jimtheyid the ripper is useless against the dirge. But pairing it with autophage 3 and the skill that gives you regen when you maim works with the regular zombies. As for the dirge himself, stun him with the ball then wail on him with something blunt and block or dodge when he recovers. From there you can either keep running back and forth for the ball or dance with him
Trick: You can go up on the balconies and stand in the corners on top of the seats and throw grenade, shoot, etc. at the zombies and 99% won't get you and you don't have to worry about the big guy until you run down to grab the orbs. I'm on PS5.
Can you explain? You mean the lounge sofas? Because the dirge will just come up to me and hit me. I’m gettin tired of this stupid boss! At least they could have made a safepoint halfway the fight! Damn every stinking time you have to the beginning over and over
This dlc was absolutely amazing people complain about huas being too easy and they upped it and y’all still complain the game is exactly how I imagined it fun ass game fr
Wait till u do one of the side quests that involves that type of enemy u gotta fight 4 while your in small tight space it’s so difficult they need to nerf them
Yeah I died at that encounter my first attempt as well. Pretty much need to target and finish killing the named one before the others spawn up/ get involved too heavily.
where you fight this boss, there is a door that allows you to abandon the quest, if you go there during the fight, to the left of it is some boxes you can climb on and hide from the boss. They will hide also while you are up there but you will be safe to regroup and heal up and let your grenade come off cooldown. also I struggled on this fight but using the krakatoa weapon i won easily. landing some hits with it and using my fury i could kill easy one of the 3 enemies quickly. I'd often just hit them a few times then leap on the boxes again once they started to surround me.
Overload the two speakers, then pick up the orb from it and wait until he spawns in front of the speaker. Throw the orb Adam and he’ll start glowing start hitting him while he’s glowing. I suggest using fury whenever you do that. Note it will only work when your on stage under the large speaker on the wall where you start
Some tips that helped me win after it took me a hour the first time i did this to finally beat him. Hit and run a lot, only stop moving when you are near zombies by speakers and the boss is not right there, kill the enemies or do some damage to them and start running again. Use grenades and pipe bombs to do quick damage so you can kill zombies near speakers quickly. I had trouble fighting the whip enemies, so when the only one that appears on this fight shows up I used a machine gun to kill it quick before it could hit me or become a problem. Save your fury for when your low on HP or when you are cornered by enemies as it will get you out of a bind, and drink lots of energy drinks around the map to make sure you always have at least half of it filled so you can use it when you need it Use War Cry to heal yourself so you can save your medkits. Only use medkits when you are low on hp and need health back fast. There is at least 5 med packs if not more on this map so don't be afraid to use a few when you need to heal. Use the krakatoa, any enemies who are not fire base it will destroy fast. It really hurts the enemies that are weaker versions of the boss and does good damage on the boss as well. you only need to destroy one speaker per round with this boss. Focus on one and then take the orb to throw it at the boss by the stage, doing so will open up the second orb.
I imagine that all of this will lead to a posible final part that will make you face konradt and maybe tisha for not stopping the autophage but to accept that you are a numen
This fight was fucking exhausting, it took me ( i was playing as Dany ) quite a few tries and then i remember getting so pissed off when i finally beat the 2nd phase, which i had really been struggling with, just to realize there was a fucking 3RD PHASE and i died probably out of sheer " wtf? " and i think a Whipper had appeared lol
Fighting as Dani, too. Made it to the final orb, but keep getting killed before that orb is free to grab. Am gonna try the advice on here and see if I beat him.
I refuse is there a way to abandon mission because i refuse its too difficult when i hit him all the runners and the other zombies start cornering me like idk how to beat it thats why i refuse and im gonna keep exploring the map
If you charge the orbs, and make the boss vulnerable throwing the orb at him (got to do it when he is close to cadenza in the big speaker) they will stop spawning, this has 3 rounds when u need to charge the orbs and repeat, the in the last part you got to charge only one left and use it as before and u will have killed him, he is challenging but more of puzzle than other thing. And if you still cant do it you can always get help online.
I’m running Jacob who has some of the highest health in the game, and I also have all but 2 sets of challenges done, so I have the majority of upgrades for character stats unlocked.
On Xbox Series X, I noticed I can't use my fire axe with a caustic mod because my frame rate drops to apparently single digits. This makes that weapon unusable and the game unplayable with it during any fights with multiple zombies. With this final mission as hard as it already is, this is inexcusable.
Best tactic I found was using the ground pounce, getting health from cutting limbs card and grenade and meat lurking. Go from one speaker to another back to the other. Until both r open. Be sure all grubs r dead n then walk with the balls to the stage. His fellow mudd friends often killed me so kill them before u walk back. Each stage when boxes are ready to take no new popping up so you can relax a bit n search for health and cans. Its best not to rush. Last section speakers r heavy ones but if you use the grenade and meat lurker just run in circles and use your ground pounce a LOT. Obvious you need guns in this fight. The more you carry the better 😮
I’d reccomend any weapon with a lot of range for example the Emma’s wrath. I also would reccomend using perks that cause multiple explosions on kills, and spamming heavy attacks as they can quickly clear a horde. Other than that just try to avoid the dirge, if he’s in a problematic location just run away until he reforms elsewhere.

Cmon, is not even that hard, you can just request help online, pls dont complain about the difficulty, cause in this dlc there is a very special card that can elevate way more the challenge😅
Maybe there is something wrong with my DLC... i throw the orb and can get a few hits in, but once he melts down and comes back, he is immune and i have to travel back to get another one to throw at him. I can get to the last part, but the Apex Zombies weaken me so bad i get overcome and die. I use the shoe horses and claws because i use the perk that i swing faster with each hit so i can get a ton of hits in so damaging him isn't the problem. I think the fact that he becomes immune again for me makes it even harder and longer. I'll swap things around and try Emma's Wrath and update my skill cards. What have i got to lose right?
You gotta redo your entire build then because outside of the stun, it's immune to slashing damage. I recommend using a dodge and autophage 3 build with a sledgehammer built for fast heavies.
I can't believe I actually got it done my first try, was super difficult and I went though almost all of my melee weapons killing the zombies at the speakers, but I found using a nail gun with caustic was super helpful, and I think you can get one with the side mission in sola but I don't know if you got to finish the main mission first
I can't believe you did yours so fast though I was fighting for around 30 mins, with taking breaks to make sure that my fury was up and my health to make sure I don't die, they is one autophage skill that I would say is essential otherwise I would've died about 15 times during the fight which is when your character is about to die instead it takes some of your fury and leaves you at 1 hp and you damage zombies to regen health, probably would say almost impossible without
I'm late, but I think I've got a good idea of what went down. When Cadenza was overcome by The Beat, she said it told her who she was, and who and what she would become or *could* become. With Grace's help with some sort of healing, she broke out of the Dirge's hivemind's control. Up until she unleashed the Beat, it was all she wanted cause she's so in-tune with music and seems to see people's personal rhythm and what she calls "a song". The Beat was a trigger for the Autophage, and at first Cadenza thought the entire world should hear The Beat because the Autophage is inside Human dna, thus awakening every Numen. Lola (Konradt, the white haired lady from the main story) needed to make sure humanity was ready for it (See HAUS, and the Ark they had made to preserve human minds inside with Konstantin), since not every Numen candidate would actually become a Numen. Basically, Cadenza came in contact with The Beat, where inside there she knew the correct course of action. She says "It knew me completely. Everything I am, was in the past, and will be in the future. But I knew it too." I feel like Cadenza, after finalizing the Beat with the 3 other notes The Slayer gets in SoLA and actually getting what she wanted, realized that Lola was right and it was too dangerous for the entire world to become subect to this giant Hivemind of The Autophage
Annoying in that the entire experience is somewhat akin to the effects portrayed by those on shrooms and then couple that with a three phase boss fight tossing in a few bosses to spice up an already tedious need to throw orbs at it so you can shave pennies of damage off the boss using legendary sledgehammers capped at 587, wash rinse repeat, btw you like crashes right?
Disengage if you get swarmed and try to have them follow you back when your health or stamina has regenerated a bit. Other than that focusing on killing only as many zombies as needed per speaker, so you can save time and resources for fighting the dirge. Also there are at least 4 medkits spread around the bossfight arena, so make sure to grab those as you use them throughout the fight.

I was loving this game up until this part. This boss is not good and the lack of checkpoints is unforgivable. Edit: I beat it 1 hour after making this comment! I still stand by what I said though.
I did a ton of the challenges to increase my health, and I also have 0 numen skill cards equipped so I don’t have any of those debuffs effecting my character.
Thanks. I tried removing the Numen but my melee attacks were less effective so added those back. I finally beat the level using melee/curveballs only. Constant running. Maybe I’m the wrong type of player because it was not enjoyable at all.
This boss fight was so fucking hard it took me 5 tries but lowkey as much as it pissed me off it’s a good fight overall cos the game was kinda easy so making the fight as long as it was with no checkpoints was a good challenge
Its like the game Remnant. You acn play it solo, sure. But its absolutely balanced around two players. So youre going to need the skill of two players if you try it solo.
it was pretty easy once you figured out what to do, and I had to fight him even two times, cause after I beat his ugly ass at first, during the final cutscene I got a CRASH, so I had nothing to do except for doing it one more time, and it was fun, with right abilities and using rage - nothing hard at all.
The Boss isn't that hard. Kill zombies at the organspekers (i'll used sharktooth here), go each time to the podium, throw it at that boss and kill it with fire.
Uninstalled the game idc what anyone says this boss fight was a scam its 1 thing for a boss fight to be challenging thats fine by me but constantly getting spammed with the same range attack then losing 90% of ya XP EVERYTIME you get hit??Then to top that off this boss fight has 4 stages and everytime you die you have to start all the way from the start ??Every single time? “They started to explain but when the beat stopped the voices stopped too”? Oh fck off, SoLA butchered the lore so badly even Dambuster don’t know where to take it from here. I can't believe you did yours so fast though I was fighting for around 30 mins, with taking breaks to make sure that my fury was up and my health to make sure I don't die, they is one autophage skill that I would say is essential otherwise I would've died about 15 times during the fight which is when your character is about to die instead it takes some of your fury and leaves you at 1 hp and you damage zombies to regen health, probably would say almost impossible without
Hum…does anyone have seen the boss fight in this video ?
so the build i used was kinda of a healing build all i did was basically used war cry along with its skill to heal so yeah
Sorry guys but I am confused, why is Cadenza helping us when until 5 minutes ago she wanted to destroy the world ?
But I knew it too." I feel like Cadenza, after finalizing the Beat with the 3 other notes The Slayer gets in SoLA and actually getting what she wanted, realized that Lola was right and it was too dangerous for the entire world to become subect to this giant Hivemind of The Autophage
pls name sound track!!!!
anyone knows the track name?
…no
Annoying in that the entire experience is somewhat akin to the effects portrayed by those on shrooms and then couple that with a three phase boss fight tossing in a few bosses to spice up an already tedious need to throw orbs at it so you can shave pennies of damage off the boss using legendary sledgehammers capped at 587, wash rinse repeat, btw you like crashes right?
Can someone help me defeat this iv tried multiple times I’m just getting frustrated and pissed off
If your on ps5, I can help you with it check the pinned comment for my username.
@@lockongamingelite I need help with this other part killing the stupid goopy things
shit so fucking hard shit pissing me off
loved the dlc, hate the fact that they don't release the soundtrack like they did with the main game, this boss fight theme is a banger.
Finished this boss in like 10 attempts lol such a hard boss and the lack of checkpoints makes it harder
I'm having such a hard time with the boss that I just keep dying. What tips do you have for me to defeat him?
Disengage if you get swarmed and try to have them follow you back when your health or stamina has regenerated a bit. Other than that focusing on killing only as many zombies as needed per speaker, so you can save time and resources for fighting the dirge. Also there are at least 4 medkits spread around the bossfight arena, so make sure to grab those as you use them throughout the fight.

@@lockongamingeliteForgetting the most important part. Dodge/block. This boss right is weeding out all the bad players that don't utilize this. Can't just run in and stab away.
I was loving this game up until this part. This boss is not good and the lack of checkpoints is unforgivable.
Edit: I beat it 1 hour after making this comment! I still stand by what I said though.
I beat it on my first try, but at the cost of all my med-kits and all the energy drinks around with only a pubic hair of health left
How do I stun him??????..
looking for help to beat this, on ps5
If you still need help feel free to add me on psn Castlecrasher317 . I should be free most of the day tomorrow.
This fight went so hard. Judging by the comments I’m guessing I’m lucky for first trying it.
How did you get 4716 health with Jacob?
I did a ton of the challenges to increase my health, and I also have 0 numen skill cards equipped so I don’t have any of those debuffs effecting my character.
Thanks. I tried removing the Numen but my melee attacks were less effective so added those back.
I finally beat the level using melee/curveballs only. Constant running. Maybe I’m the wrong type of player because it was not enjoyable at all.
The boss is hard.I keep dying and i wish i had help...
Mines glitched I can’t get this quest
you have to reach a certain point in the main quests before this becomes available. i think after you get the first numen card.
es un final extraño aun que para los que les gustan los juegos de horda de zombies da un aire a un easter egg de black ops zombies
Jacob was easily the best character in this game and the most funniest🤣
This boss fight was so fucking hard it took me 5 tries but lowkey as much as it pissed me off it’s a good fight overall cos the game was kinda easy so making the fight as long as it was with no checkpoints was a good challenge
Its like the game Remnant. You acn play it solo, sure. But its absolutely balanced around two players. So youre going to need the skill of two players if you try it solo.
This boss made me rage quit lol
And then come back the next night to beat it haha. Well played DI2
I raged quite last night trying the beat this stupid boss 😅
12 hours later here we go again
I want more lore on the Dirge
For anyone looking for the song
Shockaddict: "Destroy the Infection"
it was pretty easy once you figured out what to do, and I had to fight him even two times, cause after I beat his ugly ass at first, during the final cutscene I got a CRASH, so I had nothing to do except for doing it one more time, and it was fun, with right abilities and using rage - nothing hard at all.
Ground pound makes this fight a little easier so try that everyone
i defeated the boss and my game crashed....logged back in ...and have to kill the boss again....I just used ALT+F4 ...not my day....
Im Curious doea Tisha return in this DLC
Nope dlcs like 2 hrs long
No she doesn’t, but as seen in the cutscene one of the Neumans from the main story does play a pivotal part in the dlc.
The Boss isn't that hard. Kill zombies at the organspekers (i'll used sharktooth here), go each time to the podium, throw it at that boss and kill it with fire.
Just join him, i did and made it much easier.
2nd player joining sure helps 😅
I got to the last stage, got hemophaged to hell
Defeated him on my 4th attempt, game crashed
I hate this boss.
Ngl, i forgot about this game.
this is a definition of an ass. i just finished it, i think mainly because someone luckily joined... what a way to ruin a solid DLC.
I just sent u the message and an friend's request on PSN. Whenever you are free boss, one of the last 4 trophies I need for completion.
How come it does more damage than me 😂
it ok add you help me last boss
Is this real DLC or Mod?
DLC
Hard boss. Thanks so much
To more dlcs ❤
I ragequit and uninstalled the game😆
Uninstalled the game idc what anyone says this boss fight was a scam its 1 thing for a boss fight to be challenging thats fine by me but constantly getting spammed with the same range attack then losing 90% of ya XP EVERYTIME you get hit??Then to top that off this boss fight has 4 stages and everytime you die you have to start all the way from the start ??Every single time? Buying this dlc was a waste of my money plus i dont even know whats going on anymore story wise nothing is even making sense anymore like people turn into zombies based off a stupit beat? I'm done with this game
It is exactly the same with me, I only die
Blaming your (lack of) skills on the game, huh? This goes without saying, but you have to keep your ass in gear. You can't stand and fight while the Dirge is on your six, three, 9, or 12.
Get good.
@@MEWASTREL you don't even know anything about me look who's talking
@@MEWASTREL you can take ya advice and shove it didn't ask for ya advice don't need it the boss battle is unfair and it's really that simple of u best the boss battle then ok good for you like your a nobody get lost somewhere chump
This part of the game can SMD! I just rage quit this piece of shit. Why the fuck is this shit so fucking difficult! My health goes from 3360 to zero so fast!
Developers did not have any vision for the 2nd dlc so they made it just "hard" (I would say irritating) so you will spend more time playing it. Haus was just OK, but this piece of shit is the worst thing I played this year.
Wasn't the greatest boss ever but it's LEAGUES better than Haus's final act
So it's a re skinned boss from the base game..
not reskinned... It's a whole new boss.
Did you even play the base game is a new boss?
It's definitely a new boss buddy 😂
This is a horribly designed boss
How so?
@@Maestrosendgame Recycled gameplay design, pacing issues, poor audio cues. Boss doesn’t feel good to fight at all
@@joshuatealeaves I’ve never had issues with audio and pacing. Most dead island games kinda have the same type of thing. From what I’ve seen with this dlc it adds a whole level of challenge with the clotter and whipper in play.
@@Maestrosendgame That’s valid
Lol I beat it and the game crashed, resetting the quest progress skip this.
Edit: I beat it again. 🤦♂️
The most bullshit boss fight in video game history. No matter what i use i do no damage and i take 20 billion damage if he breaths on me
bullshit ranged attack that locks u in a corner gg. took me 3 attempts
Too short
This game sucks cause at the ending of the game when you get through the third are 4 toward the end and then you get killed in it it doesn't save where you died makes you start back to beginning
What a stupid fucking boss fight
“They started to explain but when the beat stopped the voices stopped too”? Oh fck off, SoLA butchered the lore so badly even Dambuster don’t know where to take it from here. That’s what happens when you go from “Resident Evil-style company unleashes bioweapon” to “extra-dimensional zombies from parallel universe use Dubstep to turn people into zombies”.
I love DI2 for the gameplay and the gore, but Dead Island canon ended with the ending of Riptide.
6 times I died by these fckn annoying boss on solo
Worst boss fight in awhile. I gave up on it.
is this dlc as short as the last one? iam getting tired of these short ass dlcs companies keep making today. 2 or 3 hours of gameplay? lmao no.
