The first official match between Scotland and England took place at Hamilton Crescent, the West of Scotland cricket ground in Partick. Hampden used to be where the bowling club is, and that was Clincart Farm before that, the oldest recorded purpose made football venue in the world, dating at least back to the 1830s.
