  • Learning how to throw a card behind my back like a boomerang AKA the flicker shot behind the back. Zero cardistry experience. A few cards. Many failures! Tell me world, what skill should I learn next?
    I’ve always been fascinated by learning new skills in a short amount of time. Whether it’s deep diving into a new discipline, learning a new activity as fast as possible, beating 30 day challenges … I’m always on the lookout for the next unknown activity, sport, achievement or traditional art that I can learn.
    My goal is to distill as many life experiences as possible into practical knowledge.. And If I can inspire or help at least one person along the way, it will be a success.
    Feel free to tell me below what skill you’d like me to learn next. Especially if it’s something relatively rare or unknown, quirky or simply unnervingly challenging! - Loïc
    Tell me Fact:The longest card throw ever was 65.96m. That's more than 5 school buses lined up one after the other. Or 14 giant octopuses casually strolling about in a straight line, holding tentacles.

    Do you have a starter video/link for learning the basics of the card flick? Mine seems very inconsistent and I'm not sure I'm doing the basics right!

    • @TellMeWorld

      Hey Tom, what part in particular do you have trouble with? The initial flick (card leaving the hand), the trajectory, having it curve, catching it?

    Is it better to use plastic cards or normal for this effect? Or some thinner ones like Supreme bicycle cards?

    • @TellMeWorld
      @TellMeWorld  3 года назад +1

      You can do this with any card but I would recommend ones that are slightly thicker . It will help getting a more snappy effect for the flicker.

    • @TellMeWorld

      Yes, try twisting your body sideways a little bit, in order to throw the card not completely from the side but from slightly behind your body. Reply here to tell me how that went

    • @TellMeWorld
      @TellMeWorld  4 года назад +1

      Take the card by its longer side between your thumb and your middle finger, then slowly lower your thumb until the card is about half bent.
      Then in one go, lower your thumb again to touch your middle finger. If you practice the move enough, the card will start to spring up.

    Nice video! i just published second my progress video on the move yesterday too. but my handling is different(i messed up while learning it and ended up with different launching hand) feel free to check it out!

    • @TellMeWorld
      @TellMeWorld  4 года назад +1

      I like your twist on it. Are you able to cover longer distances with it? I'm curious.

    • @moogmush4436
      @moogmush4436 4 года назад

      I think the pressure from the card flicking is lower, so it's weaker. But if i add more wrist movement it can go longer while maintaining the control. I have been shooting my phone camera on the dead center xD

    • @moogmush4436
      @moogmush4436 4 года назад +1

      It doesnt spin as much as the original and only shows it's body at the very top. So it doesn't look as cool as yours :D
