  • Join me on this trip to Florida to pick up the 2021 Rouser model from Runaway Campers. We do a walk-around, discuss features, and plan to build out the interior.
Come back for the next episode when we begin to build the bed frame and platform.

    Hello,
    I enjoy watching your videos.
I am in the market of buying a runaway trailer also. Could you please tell me, what made you choose Rouser instead of Range runner camper?
Is the Rouser stable when towing? Is it top heavy?
    Do you need stabilizer bars?
    Thanks.

Hi, thanks for watching. I wanted the Rouser because I wanted to stand up when I cook and when I am changes clothes, etc. The Rouser feels very stable when I tow. I wondered if it would be a problem when empty (without weight), but it has pulled nicely from the very first time. No stabilizer bars needed because it is just over 1,000 lbs (I estimate 1,300 after the build out).

Get the reflective tape (red and white) it is used on 18 wheeler trailers ! It reflects light a long ways off! I put two white strips in each upper corner on the back one vertical and the other horizontal . It outlines the top of the back end ! I also put the red down on the bumper of my brothers runaway!
Also on the back of my Wolf pup camper! Best thing is no wires or batteries needed!

Great video, for never owning a camper you came up with some smart options. Would you considering sharing your drawing package file?

I too am expecting to recieve my Rouser in a month or so. Very interested in your build. I like the way you have explained every step. I am curious about your camera set up as you did not appear to have a visible selfie stic.

Thank you for checking out the video. Sometimes I film with a Go Pro Max which is a 360 degree camera. The software automatically edits out the self stick. - Ben

I just can't pay that much for a box. The Traveler 109 is about 2k more and has outdoors kitchen, bed, cabinets and heater.

I don't think you can stand up in The Traveler 109

@jmb-cm7mr Rather have heat, water, outdoor kitchen, offroad tires and hot water heater with shower head.

How does it tow? I'm wondering about swaying, possibly adding something to prevent. Have read a lot depends on how weight is distributed.

I heard that when you first pick up the Runaway camper, you might find it 'bouncy' when it is empty. But the Rouser is not that way. It felt comfortable to tow empty and is still fine now. I considered sway bars but it does not feel necessary. I may reconsider after this coming season. - Ben
