I don't care if it's targeted towards women, I would have to say Black Orchid EDP is my signature scent, it's probably the best fragrance I've ever smelt
Tried it today EDP was on my skin for 5 hours … Parfum was on my skin 12 hours and running. I prefer the parfum.
I remember like it was yesterday when I first smelled Black Orchid in a magazine ad when it first came out,… I got shivers down my spine it was love at first sniff. When I found out the price I was surprised it’s so costly, I was a fragrance beginner, but I saved up and wore it exclusively, for years. Now I have many perfumes but Black Orchid in the black bottle is a never ending infatuation for me 🤩

I smelled it today for the first time at Sephora and definitely love at first sniff for me as well.
I definitely like the eau de parfum better than the parfum. The gourmand is stronger in the EDP which I liked better! It felt smoother
My favorite Tom Ford or at least from the ones I have and tested on the past. Black orchid EDP is so different, dirt, floral, watery, chocolaty. On my skin I get the dirt and chocolate with a light floral. I am a man and wear it often it is unisex. It might feel too feminine for some men and too masculine for some women. I never knew I would like dirt and chocolate on a fragrance but I do. I am addicted to this scent.
My sister brought 14 scent I'd bottles for me to choose what I wanted. Im so picky about my perfume, because some I have loved started to trigger migraines. I love patchouli, but I was spoiled to a blend that some beautiful ladies from India sold at a flea market California ( Berryessa?) of all places. And a sweet little place in New Orleans that blends perfumes has a great one, but I'm still searching for my favorite. I went thru all the perfumes and at first I didn't really like Tom Fords Black Orhid EDP for me. My husband yes! But I decided to wear it to get a better idea of how it would actually smell on me. I loved it. It's not overwhelming. So the perfume I planned on wearing was pushed to the side and I wore it to my wedding. As I hugged everyone I received compliments about it all evening. One guest said it was subtle and bold all at once.
I wear this confidently ! As a proud man lol and people love it on me. The parfum version is not as dark to me . I enjoy the edp to the fulllllest. Also another i may give another chance to is oud satin mood by mfk. Some others i came back to later on and loved, were overture man, absolue pour le soir by mfk and l air du desert morocain by andy tauer. Ohhh and forgot about the masterpiece chergui. Wear it to bed every night
I just bought the edp version after seeing this review ..and man oh man this is one of the most beautiful sophisticated calssy sexy scents of all time .phew i smell so good
It's a curiously warm and inviting smell. If someone is naturally attracted to you then this is a cherry on top of not being an after thought. A mysterious individuality to it. Not a sexy smell, but a pleasing smell that you want to be in the presence of and get to know and understand. It's something that sparks thoughtful interest and depending on the man or woman, will be a refreshing change from the typical everyday man or woman fragrances we're all used to smelling. If a man has this smell there's a chance he's different in a good way and if a woman is drawn to it's uniqueness there's a chance she's worth getting to know on a differnet level.
The EDP is the runaway winner. When I wear Black Orchid on skin, it projects sophistication and comfort. I am glad you like it too.
That's exactly how I feel about ombre leather edp over ombre leather parfum. I had the same experience regarding how it was on skin versus the tester strip.

Black Orchid is straight up one of the sexiest fragrances ever. I think of dark forests, with a super sensual lady strolling through it.
One of or the best fragrance that I have smelt. I´m in love for the EDP.

edp not for men its for women 30+ and the magic happens when it drys down the top notes are meh disgusting and thats why people hate on it
It’s not only you the on the perfume it’s not has strong or unique has the
EDP is definitely better than the perfume. It’s a lot more unique and I choose EDP of it all the time

Thanks..this is a lot of money and you really helped me decide. I smelt this yrs ago and did not like it. I tried it yesterday and LOVED it. So I purchased a 100ml on Fragrance buy for $197 (the 50ml of the Parfum was $165. ) You do the math ;-)

I have a decant of the EDP and a bottle of the parfum. The EDP is a classic staple that is timeless the parfum just builds on top of it to me it's a masterpiece of a fragrance but oddly enough I don't like it. Only cause it doesn't suit my sense of style on avg. One day I will find the outfit and occasion to wear it I think I've figuring out how to style it after owning for nearly 2 years. But in scent and blend alone I understand it's quality the parfum is just masterfully made and if styled and dress right it could be a magnetic presence in a room and a sure head turner.
Black orchid especially the EDP is also definitely one of the fragrances that changes on my skin compared to on scent strips.
It become more smooth, sweeter, muskier on my skin.

I tried the parfum version of this today and not only did I think it smelled incredible but, it made me feel so chilled out and relaxed.
This type of "mood enhancement" is exactly what I'm looking for in fragrances. I'd love to try the EDP but, the parfum just totally did it for me based on how it made me feel so, I'll be going for that.

Black Orchid reminds me of a newer version of Theirry Mugler’s Angel. I recently discovered Black Orchid, and it didn’t remind me of Angel initially until the dry down. Angel was a perfume I purchased exclusively for my wedding in 1997. I haven’t worn it in years, but Black Orchid has definitely taken its place. Such a beautiful fragrance, the lasting power is like none that I’ve worn before ❤️
