So glad your knee doesn’t need anything except rest Diana. I saw when you started limping and thought can’t she just get a break once in a while !! So glad the boat system worked. Now rest your knee as much as possible. When my kids and grandkids were younger it drove them crazy because i would sing “ you can’t always get what you want” Now the song is “ what a drag it is getting old”. Take care my thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mary. I sing that verse a lot too😂 take care.
Glad it's nothing major. You guys need to catch a break. A lot has gone on this year for you two. Take care.
That’s the truth. Have a great week.
It's wonderful to see both of you thriving. The view here never ceases to astound me - I could happily spend my twilight years just sitting in a lawn chair, soaking in its splendor until I croak. Obviously, the new owners of the property would have to dispose of my body in a fire pit and toss the ashes into the ocean.
Regarding the trailer, I'd suggest excavating a path about six inches deep and a foot wide, then laying down a concrete channel. This would ensure a smooth, trouble-free guide for the trailer. Alternatively, clearing a path and laying some 2x6 planks could also work well and lower the tire air pressure.
Ha that would be a surprise for those coming to look at the property😂 A bunch of bones in a lawn chair.
It's good to hear
that she didn't get
severely hurt. Glad
that you could get
the boat out of the
water
Thanks
Glad she is ok, a little rest should help, thanks for sharing your life with us. Blessings to you both!
Yes, thank you
We understand the value of getting things each time you go to town. Glad it worked out for you 8)
The struggle is real😂
Glad Diane was not seriously hurt. Hope the process of getting the boat out of the water gets a little easier with time.
Thank you
Good to hear that Diane is ok. Hope you did ok with the storm.
Thank you. I’m glad she’s ok too.
Would it help to lay down some plywood over the rocks to make a smoother run for the trailer wheels?
Maybe some 2x6s
So nice to see u both!! Hope ur doing well!!😊
We are thanks
Good to hear! Better to be safe. Stay warm.😊
You got that right!
Constantly adjusting to mother nature! Great job emprovising a solution. I have a feeling it's gonna be a harsh Winter. Be well! Thanks for sharing!
Let’s hope not. It’s been mild for us so far. Let’s keep it that way😂👍
Good job ...glad shes ok ..I hope the dogs can keep you company
They are keeping me company.
Quite a bit of nail biting on this job. Glad it worked out. Good to get the update on Diana.
Thanks 👍
Nice with calm waters!
Yes they are!
You need a hand winch with a pass-through cable I think they are rated for 5-7000lbs good job!
Happy Days are here again Glad to see How you guys are doing I can see a Big winch in your tool box soon Hydraulic ship winch and a Engine drive Pump. Nice video.
That would be awesome.
I had to leave my island a week early (due to weather) in order to make my Marine Highway system sailing. Down south for the winter to include hand surgery ( fell off of my roof)and other injuries from wear and tear over the summer. Retirement isn't for wimps. Glad to hear your bride is well.
Hope your surgery goes well.
Need to dig a 10' wide ditch or a small path to make things easier
I can get you any small trailer suspension parts you need, some are hard to get, like the shackles, equalizers & hangers & u-bolts. Even the springs if need be. Just let me know.
Will do. Thanks.
Just FYI… Remember you are only securely the boat to the trailer by that 1 Eye Bolt on the front of the boat and 1 strap. When hauling the boat out on an incline I would suggest a couple more straps from the cleats on the boat to the trailer.
I have seen those front eye bolts on the bow of a boat pull completely out…..🤙🤙🤙
Smart 🤔
I've been through hellishly high waves on the west coast!! Something one never forgets! You guys rock. 👍😎🇨🇦🌊
Yeah it can get pretty gnarly.
Prayers for a quick recovery! Live free!!
Thank you
Teamwork makes the Alaska Dream work. Good to hear Diana's injury wasn't more serious. Take care in that brutal weather.
Thanks Jay. Let hope for a mild winter this year.
@@AnAlaskaHomestead I'm with you on that. Just started snowing lightly here. Supposed to get snow until Sunday. Then Monday it warms up and melts snow along with very heavy rain. Calling for flooding. We'll see.
@@AlmostHomestead let’s hope not. Be safe.
Never a dull moment.Take care Gary.
Thank you
Thanks for sharing and please take care for both of you🙏🏼
Thank you
Great job!! It could be easier if you had bigger wheels and tires on the trailer, but you 2 made it work!
They make beach wheels that are smaller around but fatter.
You guys are awesome. Glad her knee is not too bad. 😊
Yes, thank you
Glad Diana is ok. Take care
Thanks👍
Happy to hear Diana will be back on her feet in no time, nothing serious is good to hear. I was going to suggest using a chain or strap attached to the back of the tractor, but ya'll figured it out. Be careful, stay safe. Love ya'll ❤
Great minds think alike 😂👍
Good to hear nothing major on the knee! Get better! Im watching my alaska friends seeing no snow when we had like 7 inches of snow yesterday here in Kansas. Your video must be a couple weeks old. I cant imagine we got snow before you did. I guess its possible. Lol
We got snow the next day but a couple days later it had all melted.
Brian, you should look into x chocks for the boat trailer. I use them on my gooseneck flat deck when parking it on a slope.
I already order the wheel chocks but now I have some x chicks on order to😂👍
3rd video I visited already.
I like the way you just speak casually in a very positive way.
Greeting from Indonesia
Thank you! 😃
So good to see you both today. Hope all is well with the two of you. Wow that is quite the process to get the boat out of the water but you did it👏👏. Diana go ice your knee. Hope it’s going to be ok. Thanks for sharing. Hope to see you again soon. Take care from Cape Cod🥰🇺🇸
Thanks Charlene.
Good To See Y'all Hug :)
Hi Roger🤗
:) @@AnAlaskaHomestead
Give Her A Hug From Us ! :)
Glad you had the calm before the storm and that it went fairly smoothly. Hopefully Diana’s knee will heal quickly. Glad to hear no serious injuries. Hopefully the storm isn’t too bad. 🙏
Thanks. The storm never hit here. On the other side of Admiralty island they clicked 103 mph winds. 😯
I'm glad she was not any worse. Ya'll have had a rough year like us. 😢 Looks like hubby is facing another redo surgery before the end of the year.
But as Ya'll know, you just keep on going and living life.
God bless and keep yall safe.
That’s the truth. Hopefully he has a successful surgery.
Good to see you both again . Be safe.
Thank you
So glad to see you both. Take care of that knee. Love your videos 😊 live free
Thank you
I flew threw your storm coming back home the pilot said Juno airport was closed on that monday very ruff ride to Fairbanks
Ha I bet it was.
Glad your wife is ok , bigger boat bigger money bigger issues ! 👍👍
You got that right. 😂 upside is another ride
Great job on getting the boat out. It's been one of those years for your family. I'm glad everyone is OK. Bless you both and I hope the rest of the year brings you joy and happiness.❤
Thanks 👍
You both worked it out and got your dream boat to “safe harbour”. Hope Diane’s knee is nothing major. Looking forward to seeing big waves. Thanks for sharing. avid 🇦🇺 fan
Thanks. The big winds never hit us. On the straight across from us they had 103mph or 165 kph. 🌬️
@@AnAlaskaHomestead pleased to hear. Have a safe winter.
Thanks again, Brian.
My pleasure!
Thanks for the update. Live Free
You bet
Go to the scrap yard get 8
wheels to fit the trailer get 4 pieces of pipe about 4 6 inches long to fit between the rims to make dually get them welded or treaded rods to hold them together
More surface tire on that gravel will result in less pulling resistance ad another wheel in front opposing the one there
Por a block of cement with a pipe in the middle not sticking out of the ground in the middle of the driveway where the boat is located get a heavy pipe to fit inside the one in the concrete I would say 6 inches OD by half inche tick you'll use the loader bucket to lift it in place that will be your anchor for the winch speedy recovery ma'am take care be safe
We don’t have scrap yards here😢 No pull and pay, nothing. They do make a wider beach tire but we’d have to buy it new.
This is a wonderful work, my friends, be careful
Thank you
make a list of things that you need make each trip count!!! if it was easy everyone would live there!! smile we love you!!
❤nothing is ever easy for you both, but you're awesome survivalists🏆 💪 🇺🇸
We make it work.
I injured my knee too! Thank goodness she didn’t tear anything. I just had a little accident about a week ago. One of the goats head butted another goat right into my knee. I’m thinking I might have a little tear in a tendon or ligament. Bought a brace yesterday and borrowed some crutches. Hopefully it will heal quickly, I don’t want to be hobbling around on snow/ice.
Wow hopefully you make a full recovery. Those naughty goats always head butting stuff.
I remember when I was a kid dad took us in the 15 foot double eagle and some Americans were here and with a big cabin cruiser probably a 20 foot boat all carpeted on the inside went over to middle notch fishing and we're sitting there fishing in debt you could look out for middle notch and look like white caps we're starting so that's it well we'll better start heading back because it's getting rough got out there and I tell you those waves are so big good job they were blowing towards Kitty Coleman because we have to go that way and you go up to the very top of the wave and then you could see the shore and then you come back down in the big swells never seen that big a waves here ever again that I know of a boy oh boy that was your scary double eagle handle it no problem as long as you kept it the boat on the on the wave but that big boat the time he got it into the putter rabbit was full of water I don't think those Americans probably would never come back again to go salmon fishing they were friends of my grant grandmother and grandfather that they woke to the states to visit You're right about getting seasick I never get seasick my buddy charters on the West Coast kept on trying to feed me gravel because he has to take gravel to do charters on the West Coast I kept saying no I don't get sea sick i'm laughing at him because he had to take pills and it was his business
I almost got sea sick once. I was tying leaders in rough water. I had to stop and watch the horizon. 😂🎣
🤣🤣🤣🤣I have never got sick and it's never bothered me I used to go out in my little 12 foot aluminum boat and storms and salmon fish and watch everybody with their big boats standing up hold them off the rocks and getting soaking wet and all those I would do with my tin boat is just drag it up on the beach and wait until everybody was gone@@AnAlaskaHomestead
Do you have a separate tank for the kicker on the Stabicraft?
If not you should, in case the main tank is filled with contaminated fuel.
I noticed that you don't have any snow yet.
Lucky you!
Dang seaweed!
I do have a 5 gal tank for the kicker.
@@AnAlaskaHomestead
Excellent!
Thankyou 😊
You’re welcome 😊
You need to wear a life jacket when your in that kayak!
Well at least you have figured most of it out. Hopefully you can make it a little more easier. I love it that you still hold hands 💕. Glad she wasn't hurt to bad🙏.
We do still hold hands but I held my arm out so she could grab it to help steady herself going over the rocks. She grab my hand instead. She got there safely and that’s what really mattered.
Wow is it about time missed you guys what happened to last weekend's video I waited two or three days for a video and no show hope you guys were all right
Sorry. Got one almost done for this Sunday 🙌
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁@@AnAlaskaHomestead
First off, glad to hear the wife is ok...She could probably use a little rest away from you anyway LOL !!! Just funnin....Seems the chores never end on your homestead but having said that you probably wouldnt have it any other way....Just stay safe while the wife is away and may all be well....
😂she definitely need a break from me.
glad she is ok i can see this is not or older folks when your in your 70s you will have to rethink things for sure island life will be off the table i think
Maybe move to a small village, who knows.
Well my friend you are now living free. A man & his dogs. Pack the wood box, fill the water tank & settle in w/a good book or movies. Enjoy.
Done and done. Got one dog laying on each side of me now. Had to crack the window because I was getting hit. 😂
Glad Diana is OK. Brian, I'm curious. If the winds are blowing at 40knots over the water, what's it like at the house, besides the swaying of the trees. Stay safe, see you in the next video.
The house is good until we hit 50 and then it shakes a little when a big gust hits.
Is the boat on a hill where it is now, can you level that out so you won't be on such an incline, i would think with any high guss of wind that it might tip over or even get it in further towards the tree's. Larry
Unfortunately nothing we could build would hold up to Mother Nature. There’s a lodge on another island close to us and they installed a $100k dock. They disassemble it in the winter to keep the ocean from destroying it.
*Wasted, not waisted
Fixed 👍
I was hungry when I wrote it out😂
do you really need the spare tire mount on the island
😂 no
As they say BC aton down the hatches!!!!
😂👍
I boat around the San Juan islands. Not quite the rugged individual you are. But wouldn’t a PFD be a good idea? Especially in the kayak.
Was I not wearing one? I typically do.
Too bad you couldn't just hook the winch up to a tree and do it instead of using the tractor all the time nice big old fur would hold more than the tractor And hook up a block and tackle system that you can just leave on the tree to your trailer
I’d like to use the Jeep and just leave it over there.
yeah that's a very good idea too a lot of people make roads right down through the oceans they clear all the big rocks out of the way but I don't know if you're allowed to do that anymore@@AnAlaskaHomestead
if you don't need it then use it on the tongue of the trailer why buy another set up
I think you’re referring to the spare tire? It’s a fixed mount, it doesn’t roll.
Are you on Facebook?
I don’t post much there but I have one.
Nothing is more annoying to me than bad spelling.
I loathe grammar nazis. Thanks for pointing it out.
