Geoff thank you for putting this on ,because although we don't realise it ,the youngsters of today look on these films the same as we do of the ones made in the 1920s and before and so like those made all those years ago they will never be replaced.

So nostalgic, we lived at No. 38 for a while and I worked in the craft shop downstairs with my aunt. You truly don’t realise how lucky you are at times. I had to move upcountry for work but I think these were my happiest days

Whats a superb memory of my home town in the 60's. Its so nice to see still a similar amount of people to nowadays but seeing people of my parents age sitting on the beach relaxing with the family in their "Sunday Best" brings back huge memories of a time i loved.

      Hi Chrissy.
Are you any relation to John (RNLI).
We follow him on Facebook with his great videos of the town.
We were lucky enough to get married at Tregenna Castle.

Our dad took us there 3 times on holiday there at that time when I was a kid - took 2 days drive to get there from Liverpool - he loved it there being an artist said the light was perfect - been back a few times with my son - I have been to st tropez but st Ives kicks it into touch !!

I grew up in St Ives in the 70's. Great images but the "MM" watermarks really spoil it for me.

Sorry about the watermarks but having spent a lot of money on the film and equipment to convert the films to digital and a lot of time editing and uploading films to RUclips it really spoils it for me when I find someone else downloads them and treats them as their own.

Locals have never had any peace and quiet there by the looks of it. Lovely place but too many tourists.

Love the place but, it’s run / owned by 4/5 families , they own the best spots on the sea front and Fore street, the rest by second home owners, sadly St Ives like most of the Cornish coast has lost it’s soul, the proud Cornish people have sold out to outsiders, in the end money talks and now is pointless for them to moan about it, thanks to that now the local youngsters cannot afford to buy a shed to live in.
