Digging for Douglas Lake “Diamonds” which are actually quartz Crystal points. They do however look a lot and even form similar to Herkimer Diamond crystals in New York but this is In Tennessee!! They are Quartz crystals that have decayed out right on the surface!
If you would like to experience this location, please watch to the end of video and check out the directions. Do you want to be sure to only go when the water is down, which is usually during winter.

Douglas Diamonds... whaaaaaaaaaat!
This location was fun, y’all be sure to go check it out while the water levels are low. In eastern Tennessee!!
Oooo this is near me! We got married in Gatlinburg. I felt like there had to be some type of crystals somewhere around this area.
what? you're interested in my trashy lake?? o.O
What the name of the crystal in the thumbnail on the right?
@@benlobin You know what they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." It's really a shame when people don't appreciate what they have.
@@SilverGem1 ma'am this isn't the moment to virtue signal one it's all filled in farm land/indian land two the amount of dead bodies that have been found three there's literal trash in the lake people go there to drink and dump their trash (maybe they don't appreciate?) opportunist much?
HEY!!!! I live less than 5 min from there!!!! I can see the lake from my porch.
Am near Maury MS in D'ridge. ;)
@@karlgru3n654 near west Main and Cedar
@@atrumphasmatis6719 Howdy neighbor!
Better go find some now.
You are so lucky!
I love that you have an interest in the small stuff too ... you’ve found crystals thousands of times bigger, and yet the enthusiasm is still there ... 👏👏👏
A true rock hound

Cool place and surface collect
HAHAHAHAHA... MY stomping grounds. Your eyes would POP outta your head to see the quartz I have found on the muddy banks of Douglas Lake. (which is up (full) early this year) Scepters, inhydrous, geodes, clusters... WHAAAAT!!!
Not to mention 600 million year old fossils...

Those pieces may be small but they look stunning. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
I would love walking on a lakeshore looking for crystals...and watching puppies fly!
What a beautiful place to fond crystals in Bryan, who filled their cop first, you or Dillon lol. They are beautiful little crystals and I was really surprised to see you find a black one! Matrix had such fun there, I had to laugh at the sound effects when he jumped, its little things like that that catch my attention. The relationship between you Matrix and Dillon comes across so strong and its great to see you are not alone sweetheart. I'm lying here and wishing I could do what you do but happy with the knowledge that I can watch you happily finding crystals wherever in the States you are. Thank you so much for filming and sharing your hunting and finding crystals with us, it's made a pain filled afternoon much easier to cope with. Terry says hello and thank you for making my eyes sparkle l. Take care and stay safe please my friends God bless you all love and hugs to you, Matrix and Dillon Mary-Ellen and Terry UK
You and Maytrix have the same hair style
Exactly! The only thing different is the color
I was digging up weeds today and thought how fun it would be to come out to Arkansas or Georgia and dig for crystals.
For all the digging around in the dirt and rocks that you do.. you've got some really nice nails! Maybe all the minerals are keeping them strong :D I'm jealous. Love your enthusiasm for big or small crystals.
there are rubys there also
Oh wow 🤩
You can also find native American artifacts on Douglas as well. The last time that I was there I found several clay marbles and arrowheads
Oh wow, I did not know that! Next time I go, I will have to keep an eye out! thanks
There are actually bigger crystals there. Found lots of Smokey quartz. I always called them field diamonds when I was growing up. Fishing there is great too.
Found same looking crystals today aswell😀 except on the otherside of the world in the Avon valley, Western Australia
Great video those little crystals are perfect 💎whaaaat 👍👍
Super spot
Only a rockhound would name his dog matrix. And only a rockhound would get it LoL.
Hello my friend the video is amazing !!
Thank you for sharing the video !!
Good luck my friend !!
Awesome!
If you come to AZ, you can find Payson Diamonds. Some of them are super clear and look very similar to Herkimer Diamonds too. They are not formed the same, but they are double terminated and look similar.
Let me know if you're ever coming to AZ and I can take you to a good area. You can only surface collect until October 1st when digging season starts back up.
That’s so wild that you just texted this, I was just talking to my nephew earlier today that I would like to visit this location but I don’t have any contacts at this point!! Looks like we are possibly friends on Facebook, please message me or I will message you in my personal page, Bryan Major
Really enjoy your show! veiwinv from southern oregon
Your dog is so sweet , he enjoy all your adventures!! 🥰
Is it still low? I love it there! Gotta go on a Sunny day! Found some awesome Smokey there too! Had great luck on the other side of the boat ramp!!
Lake is up early. LOTS of rain.
It's down in the winter months.
I thoroughly enjoy watching all your adventures. The way you get so enthusiastic and stoked when you find something epic, I LOVE IT!! Douglas diamonds is a great name, because it's my son's name! Rock on and keep having a blast honey!! I look forward to seeing more of your encounters. 😊
In my area. Where you headed next?. Be a good time of year to go to fairy stone park in Virginia.
Enjoyed watching again today !

Matrix is such a sweet dog. I think he was trying to eat the crystal. Dog so ballin his poo is blinging. Lol
Been watching you for years. Never been to the states but maybe once this whole covid ordeal is done with I'll come to one of the public spots you've taped!
No masks allowed in Dandridge! Fool....
I enjoy watching your videos. I also enjoy watching Matrix, he's such a sweetie :)
What the name of the crystal in the thumbnail on the right?
So cool!! Sadly, I'm not even KINDA close to there. By the way, THANK YOU for picking up some trash while you're collecting! 👍😎
Dude !! Hey can't ya hear me ?? Theres one right there on the right on that little bank ohh oh and one right on the left noon the left ! It bigger !! Damn it !!! Man can't you see all though's??
So where do these crystals come from? Did they form in pockets in solid rock? If so im assuming it decomposed and released the crystals over a long time? I'm probably way off lol
Awesome video my favorite crystal collector.
I’m so glad you take Matrix along on a lot of your adventures. He definitely adds some fun to the videos.
Is he a registered support animal?
Yes he is my buddy for sure 🐶
No he isn’t registered like that
Hey I know of another good spot for crystals in mt. They can be from 1 inch long up to 1 ton. Some of them in this spot have pyrite inclusions. Theres also parasite crystals there and flourite.
If youre ever back in mt this year or the near future I'll be glad to show ya the area on where they can be found.
Yes I would for sure love to go out and search with you, thank you so much!
It's an old mine. Theres even rumors that people have tripped on 50 pound crystals sticking up out of the ground on the road you hike to get there.
Whaaaaaaaaat!? Shine brine like a diamond! )
Thank you again for sharing we love your videos. So looking forward to you being in the West. You rock lol
I’ll try my post again. I’m surprised that there are crystals anywhere in Tennessee . I look where I live in mid tenn but never find anything !
Great video !
Those are pretty little things I would love to have a few I'd create some jewerly.💜💗💙💛💚
I work on the lake i build docks on there i find those all the time
As always, a great video. My rock hound daughter is dying to go noe

Hi 💓
Great vid I love your fossil finding vids
I gotta go!!!
I didn’t think had anything crystal wise. Amazing. Great video .
I would love to see you come and hunt Fairy Stone in Virginia. About 35 minutes away from my home. Lots of fun!!
You are a fantastic person, thak s very much. A large Hugh for matrix I see you sll yours videos.
To chime in on this location, you can only go within a certain time period of the given year. The TVA ( Tennessee valley association ) lowers the level of the water in the lake at certain times of the year. They start around October and it becomes able to be walked across around the end of December. I want to say they start raising the level of the water back up around the end of march or beginning of April, but I’m not 100% positive on that.
I recently found a piece here that is crystal clear, in the shape of a triangle the size of my thumb nail, and it had 3 different colors of mud inclusions in the same piece. Red, yellow, and grey. It’s perfectly shaped to be wrapped and made into a necklace 😁
Oh wow that is a huge piece for that location! I’ve been only twice, hope to go back this winter
You are correct about the water levels. During winter, the reservoir is almost completely empty.
When they fill it back up depends on how much rain & snow we get in the winter. I'm on the other side of the mountain, by Norris damn. I frequent both when dry.
Awesome adventure beautiful crystals wow polished up they sure would make some beautiful jewelry fantastic eye there awesome thank you
This is very close to me. Been there twice
What you have found are HERKIMER QUARTZ They are not diamonds.
Thank you so much for sharing places in TN! Everywhere I go hiking and creek walking, I'm always in search of signs of any minerals or interesting-looking rocks. All I've really found, though, are some crinoid fossils up in northern middle TN and a solid geode somewhere in East TN. I'd give anything to know where/how to find some good stuff close by!
I wish I knew more places in Tennessee, but this was a fun one, be sure if you go that the water level is down some
when is the Missouri hunt coming out?
Am i missing some loophole about laws in that area? I live about 30 min from there and hunt artifacts, i wouldnt be caught dead walking the shores with a rake lol
Same 😂 1000$ fine even a Rock
🤔It’s called surface hunting not dredging and no sluice box. It is only illegal if you are on protected lands. There are places that are flooded burial grounds that is illegal and trust me you would know if you are. Never dog or rake.
@@redneklivin4015 😂 you'll see
No clean up? Man i'm to spoiled.
Wow. My wife and I were just there last weekend...
Please don’t even use the word diamond,,, even in quotes if you’re talking about crystals. Pffff
I ended up finding this whole channel because this is in my area and I was looking for rockhounding videos here... Now I'm all sucked into the channel lol.
Awesome, be sure to check out my playlist for Public Digging Location, I have them all day or so it’s places that you can go yourself
Where in the lake area is the parking lot? Hubby and I went Saturday and ended up very North. Drove around to the reservoir. Run out of sunlight. Got some leavorite. Ready to try again.
Going there with my girlfriend and just a few minutes sir we usually do really well I found 45 specimens last week that were perfectly clear about I don't know the size of a pencil eraser they were beautiful I thought they were really diamonds I mean you you would think they were
Man that is cool waaat
There's 110 pyramids there under water they look like islands when the water is up
What are they worth?
Nice finds
If I saw that on the ground, I would have thought those were broken glass.
The girl I go with is so damn good at finding those things I get a little bit discouraged she just tells me to keep looking and while I do and eventually I will find one that's the only thing I can tell you if you go out to Douglas don't get impatient when the sun's out just look for the little glints and sparkles you will find them
I wonder how many people thought someone was being mean if they told them that they were going to the dam store?? Lol 😅
I've grown up around douglas lake, we always thought these were glass lol, its a man made lake so it just never dawned on me.
It's just quartz folks, not diamonds...
Pretty crystals!
But…look at those gas prices! Gorgeous!
Mrs chrystal colecktor wil u plz sponser me some points
It's soo small but soo beautiful ❤
Wow i love you puppy and your beautiful stone i really love diamond or cristals stone
Does anyone hunt larger crystals like geodes in the area? I live in anderson county and would love to link up with someone, i hunt artifacts but know nothing about crystal hunting
They sure do look like Herkimers! We have a video coming out Friday of surface collecting at Ace of Diamonds! So much fun!💎
Thanks for this, my wife and i went there today and had a great time, and found some nice crystals
That’s great!! 🙌💎
AWESOME!
Cool I use to camp there with my grandmother wish she still here I'm on Asheville hwy I get there no time
I’ll be there in July, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to find any depending on the water level. I’ll still look for sure though! 💎
Water level will be too high.
Why does the water level go up in the summer? I’m so used to water levels just continuously dropping in the summer, we don’t get much rain April through September where I am
@@jocelynnguyen2812 It is a reservoir lake adjacent to a dam, which controls the water level. In the winter, the water levels are lowered in case of winter storm runoff, since it's located in a valley. In the summer, they raise the water levels for recreational use.
Сooooooooool💪💥😮
That would be a great day 🥰🥰🥰❤💜
Beautiful little Crystals👍 Very nice surfaces and so clear. Such little beauties are also perfect for Jewelry.
Can we see them sparkling? Yes, can also see many that are getting missed 😅😇
If you were to send these out to get cut for a ring. Who much do the companies charge?
Give me the cord I love court crystals they’re so pretty❤❤
several rubys have been found near the campground
What month would be good to try this out looks fun
