With the name Bering I thought this was a vessel that could handle oceans, strong wind and waves. But no, the narrator seemed surprised she could handle two meter waves at the calmest part of the Mediterranean. And that makes sense with the shallow draft and being so tall with a high center of gravity.
Well, she certainly looks lovely, however I would have liked a better tour. Additionally, not the voice I would have chosen to introduce such a lovely lady! Sounds more like a 'propane and propane accessories' type.
This guy has the voice of a man that would get out of his pickup truck at a red light to attack you and pull you out of your car just because you accidentally pulled out in front of him without using your turn signal.
Antonio Skocic According the bering70 specification the cruising speed is 9 knots and the top speed is 13 knots. The fuel consumption of a cummins qsb 6.7 @305 hp is 56l/hr So 2 engines will consume 112ltr/h at top speed. So it is very unlikely that the fuel consumption @9 knots is only 12 ltr per hour. I would say 12 gallons per hour is more likely.
@@leeluck1968 Yeah, I agree that I also found it odd that its fuel consumption was so low. The main reason why I wouldn't want a yacht like this is because it would burn through all of that fuel and your couldn't really cross the Atlantic or Pacific. Personally, I would buy a sailboat, but I still love watching these videos!
@@leeluck1968 You’re logic is wrong. The optimum displacement speed of a hull is a function of its waterline length. Given this boat is 70’ LOA then a 9 knot optimal cruising speed is reasonable and a fuel burn of 12 litres per hour not unreasonable but this would be per engine I’d say so 24l/hr. Fuel burn rate increases dramatically as speed increase above this cruise speed as all the boat is doing is pushing huge volumes of water out of the way so a massive drag force has to be overcome.

Given its size and price, this motor yacht looks to have the beginnings of being the best on the market by a large margin should it be further developed, particularly the "Tempest" all aluminium build! Couple questions though; the PDF advertised a "semi-custom" approach to the interior and exterior of the build, does this imply that it's seakeeping qualities can be further improved i.e. customized hull form for hydrodynamic improvements and lowering the centers of mass in the hull further via the layout? Also, would the Aluminium hull option be offered on the Bering B85 like its smaller sibling the B70 Tempest?
We promote a semi-custom approach to design and construction processes, giving customers significant involvement in the creation of their future yacht . Unlike fiberglass yacht production, steel/aluminum builds do not require a set mold, which allows a higher level of flexibility in internal aesthetic modifications, such as larger bedrooms, and crew quarters, entertainment spaces, and varied fabrications. The same level of customization is available when choosing the equipment and features on the boat. Regarding the exteriors, we do extensive hydrostatic and hydrodynamic studies to optimize stability, sea kindness and efficiency. We are not thinking to offer aluminium hull as an option on B85. If we decide to build totally in aluminium we will create absolutely new series.
