you're the coolest hikiko, channels like yours show me new things I would have probably never heard about otherwise and help me realize/reinforce to myself what I truly love in this world. I really like your analyses, grasshopper b-sides and simple series videos also your blue stinger and illbleed reviews are the best. Sorry for the long comment, but I just want you to know that I really appreciate you as a person and the videos you make. They're insightful and hilarious and I have a lot of fun watching them and looking forward to them. You have a permanent fan in me. Thank you Miles.

It's people like Takahashi that really make this world bright to me. People who aren't afraid to be themselves and express themselves in such unique ways. While the actual commentary of his games are grim in nature, he draws in your attention with his beautiful sense of surrealism and these warm worlds he makes. His work never fails to put a big smile on my face, and I can't wait to see what he makes next.

Same. I'm from Japan and was forced when I was 10 to move to the US. The world quickly turned dark and I endured weebs and bullying.
This game with their silly upbringing lyrics made me happy, but it wasn't until I was a teenager that I tried this game and was good enough to beat it.
The song at the end paired with rolling up entire countries both made me laugh and cry at the beauty, and again, silliness of the lyrics sung with such passion.
I still listen to these songs when I need a little boost and I found Kirinji (who did Bluffing Damacy in the sequel) by pure luck through a separate app and everything came full circle as if the King of the Cosmos arranged this himself.
I owe some of the most beautiful moments of my life to this man who just wanted to make people happy.

10:27 but hikikomori, it's funny when the RUclips man says "hA wHaT a WeiRD GaME, dOeS Dev do DROOG???????" I slap my thighs and clap and scream at the top of my lung whenever it does occur, making sure to vigorously finger the like button when thing do thing
It's also extremely hilarious, observant and original when applied to other mediums such as music and film. Not at all a brain dead take and/or dead joke

10:23 i subscribed instantly after this, people always describe his games as weird and japanese and they don’t understand the surrealism his games have

Yeah, I feel Deadly Premonition gets a lot of attention from "irony" bros who like it for the surface level flaws. Deep down, there's a heart being overlooked.

I remember seeing a friend post about this game recently but I didn't have a chance to look into it. Now I definitely want to check it out, looks pretty interesting.
Thanks for the good video and have a good new years eve!

"The feeling of playing games as a child" is the essence. The "drugs" those people need is the ability to play as a child - not a teenager, but a child. Thanks man, this video really answers some questions for me.

I remember playing the demo of Beautiful Katamari on the Xbox 360. The title screen was the greatest thing I've ever listened to, same goes with the other song as well.
Also, Takahashi must be protected at all cost

I remember Cubivore from one of your streams. 5:02 So you were Spireman all along! I knew it! Pretty sure I've heard somwhere that the creator of sesame street was very fond of LCD in the 70's.
I generally don't care much about videos for game developers but you always somehow makes them interesting so keep up the good work, Miles.

I'm from Japan and played this game with a kid in my neighborhood but was forced when I was 10 to move to the US by my mothers delusional quest for fast love. The world quickly turned dark and I endured weebs and bullying.

Last year he designed a game for the Playdate, a handheld console with a mechanical crank on it. Never heard of it till now, it sounds very interesting.
Designing a game for this perculiar console fits Takahashi way too well.

I am tempted to give it a shot on PC. It runs decently on PS4 Pro, but it's an uncapped framerate, which causes major droppage when many characters share an island.
