    I ended up buying three guitars from your videos. A MIM Fender Strat (Screamadelica - yuck)
    A Jackson Soloist. A GearIT Sunset LP style. I really like all three. I know how to work on guitars, so I know what I got. All good. You had a lesser experience with the GearIT guitars than I did. That's unfortunate. Keep going. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have gotten any of these and I would have missed out.

    Just wanted to say that I bought this guitar last week because you brought it to my attention with your video. Yesterday I commented about the floyd issue and the pacer I bought a year ago. I hope you didn't think I was being negative. I like your channel because I think folks of all skill levels should be able to thrive in the RUclips world. I am 59 and my skill level never grew beyond a certain point because I'm lazy but I love the guitar so I keep playing and collecting. Your channel is very honest and it's why I watch. Great content by the way.

    No apologies necessary Joe. This is why we love your channel. Some of the reviews I hear everything is perfect. You know that's not possible so people go out and buy the guitar and are sad. Thanks for your honest channel. Keep it coming.

    Gotta tell you right off, if I'm not your age, I'm older!😆 Seriously, though, I myself always watch guitar review videos with the idea in mind that the experience that the videographer has is not necessarily the same as what I would have, and I always try to relate what I see to my experience levels and those of my gear. Over much time, I've become an amateur guitar tech; I don't have a professional skill (or tool) level, but I can and have saved myself many dollars doing my own work. While I have yet to lose blood in an encounter with a sharp fret end or tang (Thank you, Lord!), I can relate to buying a new guitar and being treated to BAD fret sprout. I've had to treat those frets 3 times over the lasts 3 years. Contrast this with guitars that I bought in the 1990s that I've NEVER had fret problems with -- well, not THOSE kinds of problems, anyway!😆

    You were honest about your experience and that’s never bad ✊ Knife sharp frets is not acceptable at any price point imo. And regarding the tremolo, i personally only buy hardtails now unless it’s a strat then i block it. I rarely use the trem anyway so why bother!

    When I worked as a guitar repairman/tech ( luthier is not really the term btw) I saw so many guitars with Floyds and Kahlers and Wunderbars etc that were just not a good guitar for the owner.
    I love Floyds. They work. But a person really needs a good background in working on those.
    Lots of little pieces! Dont loose those tiny string blocks! ( Folks always brought guitars half strung and missing those tiny bridge string blocks.

    If you can find an Indonesian-built Baretta Special, they're probably the best of the affordable Kramers.

    A thought: My friend, there is no shortage of guitar knowledge on RUclips alone. Much of what I know, I learned here, and even when I see things done in a way I don't approve of, I can still learn from them. You can, too. Simply learning to do a full setup can save you hundreds easily. If you have even two guitars, it can get worthwhile REAL quick! Also, you don't have to get all your tools from Stewart MacDonald (VERY pricey!). Learn to shop for tools like you do guitars, and you'll save cash on tools which will help you save cash! ... And you'll never be afraid of your guitars again! (You don't fear what you understand!🤔🤨😃)

    Hey Joe, my favorite RUclipsr, you are spot on with your assessment of the Kramer, I have some knowledge of guitar setup, but I don't whammy, wiggle bar, or tremolo. I tried once but setting the guitar up with a Floyd is not a great experience. Keep up the great work my friend.

    I like this channel. I started learning guitar at 48 years young and at 66 years old I still feel like a beginner. Over the years I've bought guitars that I thought were a good deal and then once I started working with them I found out it they were over my pay grade so I got rid of them and moved on. For my Black Friday deal I found a used Gretsch 2655-P90 without the Bigsby and Gretsch hard case for under $350 on Reverb. It should arrive Friday. A few months ago I found a Vantage Re-issued Jazzmaster guitar that has a P90 in the neck and a Humbucker in the bridge for $150 at a local pawn shop. I love the tones a P90 makes...:) For me guitars are a balance between guitar practice but also seeing what's out there, while not spending too much money. Keep up the great work. A fellow old bald guy in North Texas...:)

    I appreciate the alert and am fully prepared to deal with some setup issues. Luckily I have several Floyd Rose guitars so that won't be an issue but if it's got a warped neck or something beyond my DIY luthier skill set, it's good to know I can return it. Please keep the smokin' deal videos coming!

    I'm in the same boat wise I don't have guitar repair skills ,but in theory after watching how to do videos about leveling frets & crowning & all that Jazz I understand the process in theory but I never done this before , so I am libel to mess it up only to end up throwing the whole thing away. there's nothing I can do if I buy any brand guitar & it ends up having issues the only thing I can do is return it, so I am very wherry about buying anything guitars in my opinion are an already flawed design . I just don't want to risk buying anything on line & the hassle of returning anything , going in person doesn't guarantee ill get a good guitar with no issues

    I've seen one of these and a basic model Baretta at the pawn shop at around $125-150 and they both had terrible razor sharp fret sprout. Otherwise ok I guess. Baretta was an 'almost' buy but I just wasn't in to a big project at the time, left it for someone who was and they both sold quickly. I wonder how common fret issues are with Kramers or if it's more on the budget models really. A crapshoot, as you say. I've been mostly lucky so far buying used and 'affordable' guitars.

  • @oneanother1
    @oneanother1 Месяц назад +1

    Its understandable Floyd rose not the for weary, its for metal guitarist with high skill lvl. Fret sprout is obvious that they've been sitting for awhile, its quite common on Jackson guitar. Might be as factory QC issue, that cant account for changes in climate the longer it sit. My 2000s affinity has been sitting for well over 10yrs, crazy fret sprout. I'm not a Luther either, but I bought all the tools to tackle it and get it setup.
    The amount of guitars you go through, its totally understandable for sending it back. It was an awesome deal though, I need s lefty one though so the search continues. also, idk if you know this about guitar channels, they often say positive things and not let the cons affect their viewerships so much. But you do you, as ted talks guitar and life likes to say. RUclips doesn't like me posting comments, not sure why. Let's see if it gets posted.

    USED! Guitars might be your answer. Go to your local guitar store and you will play a used guitar typically for a lot cheeper that's nicer... Moreover, if it's been played reasonably it's had a setup and fret issues usually delt with. Assuming it's not been abused or broken.. I'm a novice starting player and I've found when I first started I didn't even know what guitar I wanted, because I didn't know the feel of say a chunky neck or sounds I could get from a semi hollow using P90s. So most guys I think have to just go through a few guitars in time, not just a day. My last guitar was used, seriously think about how many guitars are out there. It might have a tiny little scratch but your playing used guitars now

    I hate Floyd Rose bridges so much, I picked up a 2015 special edition Wolfgang Striped bumblebee with a hard tail. They only made 150 in 2015. $1500 but I traded in a guitar and got it for about 1/2. I don't buy cheap $150 guitars personally but that's me.

  • @eddiejr540
    @eddiejr540 Месяц назад +2

    I think it's common knowledge that a tremolo of any kind is not good for a beginner etc...There's pros and cons to everything but I think there are more benefits to be had with a hardtail...so you can't divebomb...that's a small concession to make for the flexibility you get with a hardtail...let all the arguing commence but that's my two cents!!!
