I agree. SP3 I would say is better investment, not to mention speaks to Ferrari’s halo cars of the past. F80 V6 hybrid, 4m USD, not to mention the sound or the lack of. I suspect that the LEGO model when released will look identical to the actual road car, for obvious reasons

@soundhub2852 Le Mans winning engine. Have you heard those cars? A simple exhaust will fix the F80. Have you seen or driven one in person? You'll smile when you drive it. Needs to be seen in different specs first. People thought and still think the 720s and Senna were bastard child's and you see them in person and different specs and you change your mind. Why would a racing company make a slower Halo car for desired sound and looks and not the pinnacle of technology? The F40 looks like a fiberglass kit car with a dookie stock exhaust. Looks like a Hobby Lobby toy kit car. But tung you drive it and thoughts change. Get the slow SP3 if all you can afford is one or the other 😂. Otherwise buy them all. Yall ain't crying about Mercedes AMG Project One F1 derived engine. Yall got boners for the ugly ass gimmick T.50 fan car and Cool looking/sound Valkyrie that can't even go full throttle without issues and a $500k maintenence bill every year from a company going Bankrupt again.

@@MrSeanman30 Hi, thanks for your indepth and passionate response. No one brand can expect to be a hit with its audience each and every time a new model is launched, that said; I should state that I am not a fan of the "fan car" for the reason you outlined, but I particularly found your take on first impressions of the F40 personally very interesting. However, I think I will leave the conversation there.

Ferrari's legacy is one of racing, and between the SP3 and the F80, only one of those cars embodies that Legacy and it's the F80, the Daytona SP3 is just a cash grab for suckers, an 812 comp engine, and a LaF chassis with a body kit.

F80 might have a LMPH derived engine however it’s still a V6 for $5m at the end of the day, plus it wasn’t designed by Pinninfarina, so it’s safe to say that it’s not going to be as desirable as some of the other Ferrari Hypercars.

What this means is that Ferrari in essence, killed off any potential for the car to appreciate much in the near future and cashed in on it at the same time. Ferrari is not a niche but a major exotic manufacturer, so I guess people at Ferrari can't do whatever they want to do with the product like some smaller makers like Pagani and Gordon Murray. F80 has to be a forward-looking product and apparently, EV is the future. So they eventually used a V6 hybrid powertrain, which is not only faster, but also shows that Ferrari is a responsible company. Given the value of those limited edition Ferraris, customers who got the allocation will definitely buy the car, but probably not because they really love the car, but because it is an excellent investment product.

I've never been a huge Ferrari person with their customer requirements etc and their halo cars. To me Ferrari has always prioritized design over performance and actual technology in their halo cars and since the F40 it's generally throw a V12 in it and put most of the effort into the design and say it's the best but try to control any tests or customer comparisons to other cars. The F80 is the first Ferrari halo car since the F40 that looks truly ambitious and loaded with technology. It's funny how they always say it has F1 technology when I'm reality it has just as much and probably more Le Mans WEC Hypercar technology than F1. It's pretty amazing that they're able to create a triple element front wing and have a keel like an F1 car etc. Effective and powerful outwash behind the front wheels. Electrically spooled turbos from F1. Awd and this thing is a rocket around a racetrack and on the street. It looks very wide and low making it look even wider giving it a menacing look. The NACA ducts on the upper sides that look like cut outs of the skin that only look cooler as you see the different air channels in and around them. I think the F80 will end up being the car that marks the point in time of a fully revolutionized Ferrari company in what their goals are in how they design their cars from here on out. It will be the car to have.

Secondly, for 4 million dollars I’d have to go for the 288 GTO before the F 80 only due to the fact that that car will continue to do nothing but increase in value whereas the F80 will be questionable in the beginning and eventually will catch on later on down the line. In between that time they will depreciate some and that will be the time to pounce. I really do appreciate what you bring to the space. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next upload.
From one Ferrari lover to another can you please feature a Mondial on your channel so it can get some of the light it so dearly deserves. A Ferrari is a whole different driving experience from any other vehicle on the planet and I’m so fortunate to say I’m a custodian and master technician of such a machine.

With hose diagonal rear wing supports, they could almost have make it an unspung wing. Mounted straight to the rear wheel uprights, so the downforce bypasses the chassis, doesn't load the suspension, directly presses the wheels to the ground. With less downforce through the chassis, spring loads can be kept lower.

  • @costafilh0

Simple. Real customers with money on the line to buy it, are they extremely upset that they didn’t get an allocation? If so, why?
Since this isn’t an inspirational or aspirational car, just a “low” volume “special” edition car, are they upset because of the potential lost profit? Or because they love it so much and would love to own one? They are all that matter, because they will dictate the second-hand market, not the general public.
The public’s response is very clear. Some like the design and the fact that it has cool racing technology. Most hate the design and the fact that it doesn’t have a V12.
Probably no one is putting a poster of this car on their wall and dreaming that maybe one day with a lot of hard work and a lot of luck they might be able to buy one, or drive it at Le Mans.
If people stop dreaming about a brand, will they maintain the value of their brand? If all cars from now on are hybrids and EVs, I don’t think they will. And I think that could actually hurt the prices of older, high-volume models, because the brand in general becomes less desirable.
This was a huge failure for Ferrari, but maybe they knew that already. So they're making as many as they can, charging as much as they can, making as much money as possible, because they know that the next one will be an EV and it will be a very tough sell, and it will probably be in extremely low volume because that's the only way to convince buyers that it will have any value.

Ferrari has MASTERED the game of FOMO. Ferrari collectors are so afraid of being pushed out of Ferrari's VIP list that they will just accept ANYTHING that Ferrari throw at them, which includes drastically downsizing their historic flagship V12 to V6 (don't really care if it is a LM winning V6, still a V6), doubling the production numbers, which makes it less desirable, and charging twice the money for it!! Ferrari has turned their collectors into slaves really. With so many exciting alternatives available today, it just doesn't make any sense for me... I am really sorry. Even the seating configuration isn't new, VW has used it in their XL1 model from 2011. I can see the car meetings of the future full of Ferrari collectors having 40 minutes conversations just to justify why they have spent $1 million on "entry cars" they didn't want, to get a $4 million car they are not excited about. Just like you said in the video, Ferrari just care about their racing teams: let's build a Lego-looking car, with the technology we have been using for the past 3 or 4 years, produce twice as many car and charge double for them, and have our VIP collectors pay for some of Lewis Hamilton's contract for the next F1 season. Man, I really like your channel and your content, but I am just tired of Ferrari's bullshit! If you have to justify it, you should not buy it, but that is what I believe. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts about it!

W1 hands down is the prettiest and most appealing to the bunch. I get why the latest Lambo and even the F80 look like they were designed like un-elegant, cold, and harsh-lined machines, they are completely function over form. The W1 has form to it with function. For me, this round goes to McLaren until we see Porsche's offering.

Ferrari's biggest problem with the F80 is Cosworth; at the price they're asking you can get a T50, Valkyrie or Tourbillion, all of which have a unique engine that's naturally aspirated and all of them rev higher than the F80 despite the F80's engine being the smallest. The F80 does not have a unique engine, it comes from the much cheaper 296 (the 499 uses a modified 296 engine; you're welcome Ferrari apologists).

Ferrari doesn't want Cosworth developing their engines. Sure engineers could build something similar but they are not funding such. Both T50 and Valkyrie are not street legal in US. Only T33 has met all US standards. T50 and T33 displacement are inline with W1. If Ferrari built F80 with large V12 production would be limited like Valkyrie at 150 and T50(T33) at 100. Would not be street legal in every country. Prices would through the roof. They can still build special projects off F80 chassis with a V12.
If a FXX V6 TT track model is done that's when exhaust might sound better. Even the designer moved on from Valkyrie V12 with a 4.5L V10.

As for you, I’d probably grab the 288 GTO first - because there were only 272 of those and the supply-demand proposition suggests that they will go up in price faster than the Enzo. So, if you’re not grabbing both at the same time, it makes sense to grab the 288 GTO first.

Ferrari sell 799s F80 because they can do it....Ferrari has a history like no other brand has. Is the car ugly? Yes. Does the car have an engine that sounds like a vacuum cleaner? Yes it does. This is a car for the track, not for top speeds and astronomical starts like Buggatti, Reveras, Teslas, etc... It's just a fast car with fun driving, as has been the case with all of the brand's latest creations... .Personally I think that an engine of just 3.0l is too small to compete against its equal peers and the final power value is not very ambitious and therefore it has a weight/power ratio that is not very favorable... the real rivalry It's called McLaren and Porsche, and they should accelerate better from 200-300 km/h, that's what matters on the track and I think the Italian brand failed there. They should have picked the SF90 engine.
