Getting this U5 figured out... Working great, remote is still an issue... But I am living with it. Box is stable, one thing I had to do was to switch the resolution in the U5 settings from 1080p to 1080i 59.98hz. that took care of the freezing on all but a one or two channels that I watch. Right now, I am keeping this U5 box.
This is first time I heard that changing resolution from 1080p to 1080i fixes freezing issues, I will test that out thank you for this, I will forward this to buzztv team too.
@@xctechs I read it over on another forum regarding another box, I tried it and it worked. I have a 4K Sony, tried other resolutions and had issues. 1080i so far has been very stable. And I can tell know difference between it and the 1080p.
The remote sucks that comes with the U5. That circular button is fine if you have fingers the size of a two year old. Entering url's and such, what a PIA! Very easy to hit enter when not intending too. I ordered their other remote, with the air mouse, the one up from this hot mess, very annoying. The U5 box itself, so far I am still dialing it in. With a good IPTV it is pretty stable. I am getting a lot of warnings in regards to time shift errors using a Samsung external drive. They have issues there if you want to use this as a PVR, that is if the IPTV service you use offers it, mine does. More than likely I will need to do a hard reset and start all over again. I did not like this box at first, the construction is your typical plastic box, light as a feather, so you may need to secure it with something if you use stiffer cables, as it will flop around on you. As I said, the remote is a PIA. As soon as I figure out all of these time shift issues with the PVR, and a few other annoyances, we shall see... If I figure it out I will post back. Don't gift grandma or gramps one of these unless you want to play 24/7 tech support.
I like the black remote
i like it too, but they had limited functions so it was better to go towards newer remote.
Great review
Owned 4900....and own now U5 great toys !!
Buzz is a great company 👍
Couldn't agree more!
Im curious to know about the 4900 or U5 devices if they provide the UNLIMITED PROGRAMINGS included , or must you pay any extra fees.?
This box do not come with services.
And the black box
housing or case of the box were good, but making box bigger and not able to fit in gift box was another reason, I believe.
