For anyone who thinks Nora is just "by chance" doing what she is doing: 1) Cats learn much of what they know how to do by watching and mimicking their mother or other cats. 2) Most animals recognize music and usually react favorably to it - they like it, but some are more aware of music than others; just as it is with humans. 3) Nora lives in a home where piano and music is apparently taught frequently - she is exposed to the music and she watches the actions of her "mentor's" to create it. 4) Although Nora will probably never understand music theory, she knows she is making the sounds, and is purposely manipulating the keys to make them. I had a cat that would wander off from the family room where we would be watching T.V. and a few minutes later he was playing his own type of music on the piano. Sometimes Barney would walk on the keyboard, up and down, pause and do it again, over and over. Other times he would sit like Nora and "tinker", hitting a key and listening to it fade and hitting another until it faded, sometimes for very long periods of time unless you entered the room, where he would get up and dash out of the room. He wasn't doing it for attention and actually wanted to be alone. There's no doubt in my mind that these cats enjoy the sounds they are creating and know they are the ones doing it.

She laid on them and watched me wrap presents and one by one I took them and put them under the tree. Lucy decided to help me and I was surprised as she picked up bows in her mouth and one by one laid them very neatly in a semi circle around the tree.

Nora is amazing, my cats love listening to the Radio when I choose Classical music, they love it and they really pay attention to listen. Cats do enjoy music.
What's interesting is that she chooses the same tonal range every time she plays. She could do the same strumming anywhere on the keyboard, but she seems to like the middle! The same tonal range as cat vocalisations? Interesting.
You're right. She plays I think where she can get the vibrations and where she can catch the sounds, I think. It is the part that is more pleasant for her to hear directly perhaps.

Nora is a very unique kitty/individual and I know she is enjoying hearing the tunes/tones from the piano, I can see it in her eyes.
