rewatching this i was thinking he probably convinced whoever was in charge to use the dagger to dampen him, knowing the plan that was put in motion and that he personally helped with.
The Flash, especially as it got into later seasons, wasn't great, but it still produced so many good scenes. Especially love the way Thawne is trying to manipulate and get information out of Nora, but is outright INTIMIDATED by Season 5 Barry. Season 2 Barry? Easy to deal with. Season 5 Barry? He's *scared.* When Barry asks him to hurry up, he basically goes "Oh, shit, yes sir." He immediately helps the Season 5 Barry without any direct explanation as to how Barry will fuck up his plan. He's *terrified* of what Season 5 Barry could do. With Season 2 Barry? He's grandstanding and threatening, intimidating Barry into anything he wants.
Yeah because Season 5 Barry is a vet at this point and clearly doesn't look at him like a former mentor anymore unlike season 2 barry who still wants to see the best in him and looks at him like he hunged the moon and the stars
I love how the way Barry says "way later" felt fully intended as Barry saying "I'm not tied to a chair this time, I know your speed is faulty and I'm faster than you right now anyway. Do what I say or I'll break you in half." And Thawne tries to keep up a sarcastically jovial attitude but you can see him tense up. Then he goes straight to mind games and dropping future knowledge bombs to stall while trying to focus on Nora. Barry's weakness tends to be his loved ones so if there's a way to gain an edge it's by focusing on his companion, in this case his daughter. That's a complete 180 to how he treats Season 2 Barry 10 minutes later.

Funny thing is this is the only Thawn that Barry can go to for help because this Thawn is trapped. This episode was to explain how Thawne was not erased from season 1 Finale : He quit his original plan and waited 15 years for Nora . That means that in season 1 Finale Barry gets back from his mothers death and Thawne lets himself get captured , which means now Eddie might be alive cause he doesnt kill himself anymore and Eddie just leaves Central City
great theory but we do see Eddie enter the singularity so he would be on earth 2, which was gonna be destroyed (kinda was) and then later on all universes combined to one, so if he is alive it could mean he is in a different body like Eboard was in the latest season
don’t forget how he erased every single one of her love interests before that so that he could be her only choice, and EVEN THEN she was like “nah I’m good”
He says that like in comics he didn’t go back in time and erase one of Barry’s childhood friends from existence just so Barry would have no friends growing up. Like bro huh???? S5's episode 'whats past is prologue' episode was an exception of a great episode in the early seasons, the rest of the episodes after s3 were so cringe and mediocre... This episode really proved they could produce great episodes like in the early seasons, but they didn't for some reason, thanks to Eric Wallace, with 5 years old writing levels. The show somehow lost this magic and the prick of Eric Wallace has no fucking clue of what he's doing. Great acting from Tom Cavanagh as always, I will remember these great days forever!
eric was only showrunner from season 6 to present. salon the new seasons still have some d good episodes and while the early seasons were good the 23 episode format was not necessary

What I understand is that Thawne from season 1 died. The timeline reset itself but since the negative speedforce protected his time remnant from being erased, he comes back in season 2. Barry protects Tina McGee from Thawne, Thawne goes back to his timeline blah blah blah, that was thawne's origin story. So later on this thawne becomes this time vault scene thawne but since Barry travels to the night his mom died, this time remnant was taken to flashpoint. After flashpoint, the timeline was reset again. The only problem was that thawne knew more about barry than he ever did before and so he tried to get the spear of destiny but died by black flash's vibrating hand. The only reason thawne came back afterwards in season 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 is because that was a new time remnant who knew even more about Barry than any other Thawne but now that he is completely erased from the timeline there is no more of Eobard Thawne. So now in season 9, we will see the new negative speed force avatar. But the question still remains, if the timeline resetting never erased Thawne, than how does a unbalanced universe scale defeat Thawne?
From the music ques to the camera work to the lighting it’s just so much better than seasons 4-8 everything looks so bright and cartoony in later seasons i wonder what happened

I just want to make a general,comment about the arrow verse … I quit watching all of them when they became soap,operas. This was true going back to,LA Law. The show was so incredibly popular and it never recovered. I really wish that writers could get an incentive percentage if they could feel invested in the show. The only two actors on the flash that are keeping it watchable is these two.

I don't know if that's a common concept but basically it just means not getting your characters to state everything literally as it is and to instead use cinematography or make your characters say things that suggest an idea

@@Francis_Higgins was it? I seem to remember they applied at least a basic level of 'showing and not telling'. I don't know if that's a common concept but basically it just means not getting your characters to state everything literally as it is and to instead use cinematography or make your characters say things that suggest an idea
