Hey Guy they grow like weeds! I have a Washingtonian Robusta and a 2 Filifera. I bought them really small (8-12 in tall) from a dealer in Texas on Ebay last May. By the end of Summer They had grown 4 times the size. I repotted mine in the Fall cause they looked a bit weary, and like yours, the roots were all wrapped up on the bottom. The huge (Nameless) Garden Center by me here in Northern Ohio said that Palms love to fill up the container they are in with roots first, and then they will grow upwards. My palms are now pushing 4.5 feet tall growing faster now that the days are getting longer. They are getting much wider too. You should see my Pygmy Date Palms those are at 4.5 feet. I bought them and they were maybe 1 foot tall. From August to Now mid February they have grown 3 feet. So I am exicited about Spring and Summer. These bad boys are going to get "HUGE!" They love pots with 4-6 holes/rocks on the bottom to allow drainage. The roots need to breathe, so I put new soil with crushed up small lava rock mixed in. and put four 3/8-1/2 in drill holes about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom on the sides of the pot. I learned that trick from the Tropical plant associate there. ENJOY your Tree its looks great!
good update James, Keep them coming.
