Need some led lights in the interior. I got leds in my dash lights and cab light, looks so good. I would say just get some actual 4th gen seats
I second getting a 3rd or 4th gen steering wheel and swapping it out into this truck
Just get some 4 gen long horn seats it would look better in 2 nd gen ram put 4gen tow mirrors and find a front grill that says ram on it

Looks good boss, I’d wrap the visors to match the tan color of the handles and lights. Then use the brown stitching to tie it together

Find a 3rd or 4th gen steering wheel and use a steering wheel puller to swap it out.
Headliner fabric has a foam backing and is designed to stretch so you can work it into the contours without wrinkles. They also make vinyl that stretches and can be similarly worked in. The trouble you had seems like you used a non stretchy vinyl...Also I think you glued to the foam backing from your old decayed headliner. If so, the reason the old headliner was sagging is the foam liner is breaking down from age. So gluing new material to it probably won't last long....Generally you wanna peal the old headliner off then use a wire brush and a shop-vac to remove the old foam layer. Once you've removed the foam you glue your new headliner to the fiber board underneath the foam.
Seats done professionally
Hey for the visors, and heavy stains, being a detailer get upholstery cleaner and a brush/microfiber towel, spray on towel or brush and apply constant pressure. If stained heavily spray directly and wipe.
Not sure if you mentioned in the first couple videos but have you considered a custom center console maybe with an audio build integrated in

I'd do a different color for the visors and grab handles just to break up the brown leather look. In my opinion with all the work you're doing to "update" the interior would kinda be diminished when you see the old dirty grey plastic

Take a sharp blade and cut the visor around the seem. You will have the 2 half’s that you can trace on the new material. The foam batting should be fine to reuse under it. Then do your stitch pattern all the way around the visor. Just like the steering wheel fold your edges.

Wrap the visors in a tan leather, that matches the pillars, would contrast the headliner so it won’t be too much brown, but will look new and refreshing!
Personally tge contrast is awesome.. Get some spray on fabric cleaner.. Or an actual spot bot steam cleaner. Great work. And westleys bleach white to clean the plastic. With hot water. And ull love yourself if u found some seats already to go. Probably pricey. But worth it
To tie all the plastic together you should paint it all cowhide brown to match the headliner. Like the over head console, the hangers, and the abc&d panels
I don’t know if it’s a good idea to upholster the seats your self only for the reason that it would take a lot of time, and time is money!! Love the vids, keep it up bro
Don’t cut the headliner to make the curves just wet it and mold it with weights
Headliner came out pretty good but I would have the seats done. It will be the first thing anyone sees in the truck
Also, I don’t know what your plan is for seats but tan Lariat 6.0 Powerstroke seats with the cattle leather down the center would look sick in there!

I like everything you did so far one thing i would do when you do the seats is do the brown leather in the middle of the seats and do another color on the other sides of the seats you dont want to much brown...
Looks really good, I would get some black leather for some small accent coloring. It would match the black trim inside the cab

Don’t leather wrap the sun visors just get new ones same color so it blends with the center lights. That should fit within the budget of a budget build they are pretty cheap on ebay
Hey bud love the videos. But my opinion you can take it or leave it. I’m a hands on type of feller honestly that’s how I learned pretty much everything I know about vehicles so here is my take on it. How else are you going to learn how to upholster your seats I would take this as a learning experience and just go for it man no matter what anyone else says or thinks it’s your truck man go wild with it if you want to learn. Dive in there man. Keep doing what your doing man and hopefully one day I’ll be able to meet you guys. - Brian
if you don't upholster the seats your self. get them done with a saddle leather and a black. stripe down the middle of the seats.
I’d do some 4th gen seats or just get them professionally done nothing against your work because your doing an amazing job but you definitely want this truck to last and seats are tuff to do

I would try to clean up the fields first before you wrap them. I agree with Reagan, you can go too far with that vinyl material. You don't want to overpower the interior just accent it. Make it look classy.

Are you doing a set of new longhorn seats in the second gen project? And I vote steam clean or re-do the original visors I loved how it looked when you mocked it up in the headliner
You could cover those sun visors in leather and take a heat pen and write something on it

I would keep them tan, however a good detailing fabric cleaner should get those stains out, keep with the tan to tie in with all the tan, if you vinyl wrap the visors i think it would be a bit much. Keep up the good work! The stitching is really nice lookin! 👍
I feel like you need black trim and black visors to contrast with the tan
Im actually kind of digging the contrast that the overhead consoles and visors show. Clean them up sure but I do like the contrast
I would use some black leather in there too. Maybe use some black stitching in the tan and some tan in the black leather.
You should do a 4th gen swap dash. Shit would be badass if it actually fit
You could try steam cleaning the sun visors with a carpet cleaner. It’s amazing how well they work.
Also for the glue you should use weldwood contact cement gel. It’s like $16 a qt on amazon. Comes in a blue can. I’ve never had issues with it when used properly. It generally takes 2 coats on both surfaces. The gel is nice because it doesn’t soak in as much as the regular contact cement. So if you get the regular stuff. It will take more coats to get the glue on right.

You should do the visors in dark brown suede. Or dark tan suede.

Seats should be professional, but if you’re gonna do it yourself carefully cut out the existing cloth and then trace out the leather to match... saves a ton of time and effort

You did great on the headliner. I just replaced mine with camouflage. It’s already falling because I used E6000 after I ran out of adhesive. But yeahhhhh keep up the good work.

No...dont do the seats...clean them really good and i like the 2 tone visors against the ceiling look > 2 tone is cool...and take off the little pieces you put on the grab handles and make it all 2 tone....your upper ceiling light is already done as a 2 tone as well.
Doing To much is not aways the best thing to do. 2 tone is very cool, and less work.
I have the flame red 96 Dodge Ram 4x4 pickup truck sport and I keep it stock as much as possible unless one area absolutely has to be done like the silver area on your vehicles out side body would probably be the only area that I would do.... leveling the truck is a another way of making it look way better also, and very inexpensive.
