G'day guys.
I've always got a soft spot for the XF.
My old XF panel van had done over 760,000 when I sold it back in 2002.
Still running the original engine and original auto. I did throw a second hand diff from the wreckers in her at about 600,000 mark.
So thanks for sharing.
MILKY
Welldone guys
Good to see u are working on the old school xf spac 🤙🤙🤙
Sould be a bleed screw on thermostat housing and run the heater also 🤙
That gearbox noise sounds exactly like they did from new.
And hoping that’s the last milky we see in the XF.
Keep up the good work boys 👍
Couple of milky comments below too
I'm pretty sure there was a speedy sleeve for the selector shaft on the XF, there was a speedy sleeve for the rear main, I did lots of them in the early nineties.
I’m surprised you didn’t put a drain bung in the auto pan whilst you had it off.
Good video
That's one fine looking bbq pit. Why doesn't mine look like that?!
Milky. love the xf build was my first car
Half hour of automobile godness
It's a head sadly. They were a bugger to get all the air out. They used to have a bleed nipple on the thermostat housing to get the air out. Even with the big funnel on the radiator if you don't use the bleeder it will have air in it. It was a big reason why they had problems with the heads.
It would be worth fixing though, weld up the corrosion and face.
Did you put in another circlip? Usually on the selector shaft.
Clutch fan nut is 32mm you should be able to get the fan spanner from burson
Hey mate, I’m about to do this for my Xf is the nut on the front of the fan behind the raidiator. Or is it the one behind the fan near the belts.
Postman Pat. Postman Pat. Postman Pat and his black and white cat. ☺️
Do do do do do do, do do do do do!!!! 😂😂😂
Trying to find an XF or XD myself, that needs a little work, few and far between at the moment
Sometimes, it can be boring work that needs to be done, but the Shenanigan's are always fresh. 😜
Yeah pretty sure it’s left hand threaded 🤟
someone should have told to spin the fan off first, left hand thread just a sharp hit on the spanner and off it comes.
Best part of land of the lost when he touches that monolith thingo 😂😂
The milky bars are on you!
Owned several xf falcons in my 20s never got the milky problem but host of other issues, I repaired my center console with screws and washers to make it solid again.
Lmao mines got a peice of wood underneath, i have a good console aside though
barra the world!
Hey boys, I’d love for you guys to make a milky white window banner I could put on my bravo. You guys are the reason I decided to have a crack and start buying the bits to put a turbo on my Ute 🤟🏻
I only watch these videos for Nathan's laugh
My old xf ute used to go milky with the oil when I would degrease the engine bay and hose etc, The tappet covers on them loosen over time
🤣Nice and milky boys.
Cool graphics.
Milky.... Turbo the crossflow?
MILKY XF ESPRESSO
Barra
Milky. Never had that happen to my XF.
Milky lol. Just condensation from sitting perhaps?
Milky Xf Nespresso
Spark plugs?
turbo green top barra/btr
Just another comment, I wouldn't put extractors on, fit a new healthy exhaust to the stock manifold (if it's in good nick) and leave it at that. There is no gain and only pain doing that on such an old setup. If in future you decide to hop it up, the exhaust can be tapped into easily. BTW extractors never seem to fit properly through those models and causes more problems than needed. My two bobs worth. Keep up the good work fella's.
I put extractors on my xf years ago with no issues at all.
@@peterspozetta9445 you must have got lucky then, the few XD XE's I've done there always seems to be an issue and i think the sound is deeper with cast manifolds.
From memory I used high temp silicone for the gasket, followed a older mechanics advice lol
Nathan, you didn't clean the diff cover? My OCD is aching 🥺
What was the circlip in the trans pan? did you work that out?
Please dont barra swap whatever you do, either leave stock or build an awake crossflow. Barra swaps are so generic in xfs.
Fully agree, barra swaps are boring
Can't agree more. Still own 2 xflow XF's and love the vibe. Not fast...well 1 of em is but the sedan is total go slow mode only. Really were meant to be a Taxi.
*something Something* milkshakes to the yard....
Those borg type 35 box's have a pissweek reverse parts in them .
Correct, my old man gave up on his over 20 years ago when reverse went.
👏🍺👍🏻
find a spanner to unscrew fan from water pump
Do you just put the spanner on and spin the fan to remove it ?
Hahahahahaha
Info the big 32 mm nut on the fan it’s left hand tread easy as
Om606 swap it ;)
These guys a way too possitive and happy about a bad oil leak lol. I'm riddled with frustration and and anxiety when i cop on. I mean, i have a very slight rear main leak and i feel like throwing the car away lol.
No sump plugs on trans pans annoys the shit out of me too
you can always braze weld or weld one on there give you something to do.
How many times have you ever used the old fan belts in the car I don’t know anyone who has the belts are new
Take the motor out to put in a new V8 engine into it
milky
Shes begging for a barra green top
There were hackers trying to get me after my last comment on your last video. Just to let you know. Wanted me to download something.
Custom exhaust for the Barra swap 🤷♂️
XF injected really would get up and go Eat crossflows with work .Remember TE Cortina webers half cage looked great $1000 XF always beat it.80 kmh light em up
Bahahahahahahahaha. A NA xflow smoking tyres @80kph is a lie and you know it. Ever owned a car that can smoke the tyres @ 80KPH? Stock NA xflow is not on that list.
Ummmmmmm, both my carby XF’s were far better than the 2 injected ones I’ve also owned. Stock, N/A injected motors were rubbish, not a chance it was lighting anything at 80kph, barely making it to the 80 flat to the floor!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
@@lachlanwoods3940 totally agree.
