Wow, Michael. Very cool that you helped carve the famous Terry Fox statue and Alaska Gateway Statue. Impressive. It was really neat to get your narratives as a sculptor yourself introducing the world to Gustav Vigeland. This park seems like the Taj Mahal of statues in the world! Quite the legacy for Norway. I had no idea. Fun Fact. The Norwegian Royal family sponsors art and heritage in Norway in unison with the government. I imagine Vigeland had a burning desire to carve his legacy in stone, like a lot of great men, hence the pun. I did not spend time in Oslo when I was in Norway to see my family. Next time I plan to go here though. Your introduction was better than from my language classes in the U of Oslo online about Frogen Park. I had no idea Vigeland Park existed there! One thing I loved about Bergen were the Viking statues around the city there, too. I felt like a Viking maiden in Dolce La Vita. ha ha. But that fountain in Vigeland is an extraordinary firework of timeless form. It is amazing to think that statues may be immortalized for thousands of years like the Greek Parthenon. Bronze and stone sculpting of this magnitude is one of the few industries that offers such possibility to contribute to history in classical form.

Georgina, Thank you for your detailed comment and kind words. Michelle, myself and our dogs visited the Royal Palace Gardens while we were in Oslo and know about the art project you speak of. Take a look at my blog post: michaelbinkley.com/visit-the-royal-palace-gardens-in-oslo-norway/.
      Take care and stay safe!

Thank you for this thoughtful walkthrough. I've been there twice so far, and will definitely return whenever in Oslo. I am uploading an article to my blog today as a virtual tour of Vigeland, and I'll be including a link to your video!
